    I’m so glad you made this video. I’ll have to do something similar to my Camry. Love that car!

    My 2007 Pontiac G6 car has a similar issue. Sometimes, when the doors are closed, the windows won’t respond to rolling them up or down. I found a RUclips video tweaking on this behavior by opening just the driver side front door enough to move the plastic wiring cover a little bit until the windows become responsive again. What’s weird is that the driver side door affects all the 4 door windows.

      Yes this is the same problem. Driver's door affects all 4 because the wiring for all 4 windows goes through the driver's controls.

      This was an amazing eye opener as I’m having a similar issue in my Honda!

    I've got my '96 wire harness for the door completely out for rebuild. There are 8 broken wires and 4 more that are cracked and exposed.

    Running into the same issue here. How did you know each wire's designated function? Thanks for the video, definitely helping me understand what I'm going into.

      It doesn’t really matter what each one does, just check to make sure none are matching colors before cutting them and you’ll be ok just matching them back together after you cut out the damaged section.

    What wire is for the window to go down?

  • @Bruceceee

    Where can i find the wires? The previous owner cut all my wires and im wondering if i can use the speaker wires from walmart? Also what size wires would be appropriate? Sigh im even missing the whole door panel and window module and the foam backing and water guard im missing it all and i cant find online where to buy this stuff

    • @MotherlodeMotors
      @MotherlodeMotors  Год назад

      You're better off going to a junkyard and getting the parts off of another car. Buy the door harness with it.

    • @Bruceceee
      @Bruceceee Год назад

      @@MotherlodeMotors that was my first thought however on the island of kauai, Hawaii there is no junkyard or pick n pull unfortunately 😕

    • @MotherlodeMotors
      @MotherlodeMotors  Год назад

      @@Bruceceee Yeah that makes it harder. Yes technically any wire will work. What I would do is try to find any old automotive wiring harness and scavenge similar sized wires out of it to re-use for yourself. Walmart speaker wire isn't the best quality, the outside diameter will be large making it tough to get all the wires through the boot at once, and the conductor inside is inferior compared to something you would find in a car from factory.

      @@MotherlodeMotors i see, well at this point im just looking for a simple solution to at least temporarily fix my wiring issue as i have nothing connected and id rather have it connected than hanging

    I need to replace drivers door harness on my 2006 sienna but can't get to first base. ALL the wires were cut and somebody pulled them out to inside of the car. Only place I see on inside of car to pass the harness is a 1/2 by 1" slot in the car frame. Seems too small to pass connectors through! Help!😅😅

    • @MotherlodeMotors
      @MotherlodeMotors  7 месяцев назад

      I'm not familiar with that specific vehicle but the harness may need to be installed in the door first and then fished into the car. I'd probably get another harness instead of trying to repair in that situation. You can also find a u-pick junkyard and go see what it's supposed to look like.

    i know this is random but I really don’t know what to do & i feel like you might have an answer. I watch many of your videos but I have ran into an issue. I purchased a 03 rsx door & i took my 05 door off to install to findout the fuse plus are different. How can I get the new door to work or fix the incorrect sized connector ? I don’t even know where to start

    • @MotherlodeMotors
      @MotherlodeMotors  Год назад

      If the doors are the same but the wiring is different you’ll have to swap harnesses. I don’t know anything about the RSX but this could be anything from just a harness swap all the way to having to swap over all internals including window mechanism and lock actuators. Assuming the door shells are identical just start swapping parts until you have a configuration that works.

      I found some on Amazon. I think your video has been the most helpful I found. My Saturn ion almost all wires are broken on driver's door. Thanks for this video

    What in the world causes those wires to break? I have a 2018 Honda CRV and the rear passenger door has at least 4 broken wires. My opinion those wire should last the lifetime of the car.

    • @MotherlodeMotors
      @MotherlodeMotors  Год назад

      I have no idea. I didn't have a problem with any other door, so that leads me to believe it was just opened and closed a lot. But it's a fairly low milage car so idk...

      with my door, it was the rear passenger door so it did not get opened near as much. I think honda should pay for it, I have 82k on the car but when I called they said no
