    I love both, real traditional single malts. But I think I prefer the 10, is so fresh.

      The 10 is more bright and youthful, both are really good!

    Great comparison. I’ve enjoyed the 10 because it’s so subtle and fresh. I’ve always wondered about the 15 and this makes me more curious to give it a go.

    Thanks for the review. I appreciate you. I've not tried the 10, but the 15 is one of my favorite bourbon matured whiskies! Cheers friend

    Nice one, Wade! I finally got my hands on the Glencadam 10 last weekend. Very fresh, and I agree with your tasting notes. I find it to be pretty spirit forward, but not in a bad way. They know what they're doing at Glencadam. Pretty great value too. I'll have to hunt down the 15 now. Love the comparison format too. Keep them coming. Cheers from the Northeast US!

    I really enjoyed the comparison. Totally agree with your assessment. I’m almost through my 15 then I’ll be popping the 21. Glencadam makes great whisky. Even considering splurging on the 25. Cheers!

    My Glencadam 10 arrived yesterday... Didn't fall in love with it yet, but I've learned to never judge a dram by your first glass. Far from bad but maybe Iwas expecting a bit too much. Some people said it's better than the Arran 10... I thought that was very far from being the case. but again, I had 1 glass, and to be honest I wasn't even that much in the mood for a dram, I was just anxious to try it.

    • @McIntyresMalts
      @McIntyresMalts  Год назад +2

      It’s hard to go into any whisky tasting for the first time without expectations. On top of that our mood when we taste, where we are and who we are with play a part in the experience too.
      Hopefully the bottle opens up for you well, I believe Glencadam whisky has a lot to offer ☺️🥃

      @@McIntyresMalts tried it again yesterday, definitely an improvement. My gripe with it is the alcohol feel is too strong (yet still feels refreshing). I’m glad I got it. It’s a 1 liter bottle, my story with this whisky is far from done 😉. Cheers!

    • @McIntyresMalts
      @McIntyresMalts  Год назад +1

      @@canal-do-guga-namura Yes I agree! On the 10 year old the alcohol feel is still very prominent, on the 15 this has mellowed and you are left with more fruitiness which is why I prefer the 15, but both lovely.

    I need to spend more time with the 15, but thus far, it has not exceeded my love of the 10.

    • @McIntyresMalts
      @McIntyresMalts  Год назад

      Fair call, both are fantastic. For me the 15 was just that little bit more rounded, but I can see why the 10 would be favoured too!

    Both sensational drams. I only recently did the same comparison recently purely because I was enjoying the 10 so much & wondered how the 15 would compare. A side by side for me revealed why the 15 is another +/-$50-. Is it worth it ? I dont know, but very glad to have them both in my bar.

    My 10 is almost done (1liter)... and I have a recently opened Glencadam 15 (and a 13 on the way)... As much as I really enjoy the 10, I think there's no contest here... the 15 is the superior whisky, period. I don't see why anyone would put the 10 above the 15, makes no sense to me (their profile is too similar, so the extra maturation time just improves it). I would only go for the 10 if the 15 is way too expensive.

    • @McIntyresMalts
      @McIntyresMalts  Год назад +1

      Couldn’t agree more, it’s only a question of the cost difference between the two, otherwise I’m picking the 15 every time.

    The 15yo is a really great whisky but I haven't had the opertunity to try the 10yo yet, it's not avilable in Sweden for some od reason. But I just got my third bottle of the 13 yo Re-awakening series and I really recommend that on. To me it's a better version than the 15yo, both smell and tastewise.....and the price tag is also better, atleast here in Sweden...$AUD106 for the 13yo and $AUD119 for the 15yo.

      I have seen the 13 from time to time, but it's not as easily available as the 15. It must be good if you're onto your third bottle of it! I will keep my eye out for this one, thank you Mats 🥃

    Someone recommended the 10 when I said I was looking for a more mature rounded Classic Laddie. Is the 15 it?

    • @McIntyresMalts
      @McIntyresMalts  8 месяцев назад +1

      The 15 is definitely a more mature and rounded version of the Glencadam 10 but I wouldn’t say that it’s similar to the Classic Laddie at all. The Classic Laddie has way more of a malt forward profile whilst the Glencadam 15 is pears and orchard fruits. If you like the Laddie, you probably will enjoy the Glencadam 15 but they are different flavour profiles.

      @@McIntyresMalts yeh, I’m looking at the extra maltiness over the fruitiness which is more common.

  • @jimmyjazz4605

    I think they're both exclusively ex bourbon barrels. Definitely no hints of virgin oak in both expressions. NGL, Glencadam slaps.

    • @McIntyresMalts
      @McIntyresMalts  Год назад +2
