    So what happens when you have an emotion or a feeling, and it just doesn't want to go away? What happens? We hold on to it. We try to let it go. It won't go.
    Hi, I'm David Ellzey, Licensed Instructor of the Sedona Method globally, and also CEO of Consciousness Coaching.
    And what I'm about to share with you is a how-to of the Sedona Method process, which is the process of letting go, or a doorway to understanding a deeper sense of your unlimitedness, your unlimited being.
    The Sedona Method generally has four ways of letting go, so this happens. (Drops stick) But if it doesn't happen, there's a Fifth Way, which is a powerful addition to the process, which is ultimately grounded in an old inquiry from ancient times. But still useful today and valuable because today is no different than then. We still have emotions that rise and thoughts that rise and fall.
    So the Fifth Way orientation of the Sedona Method-instead of the four ways of letting go-is based on not looking towards the object of which you're trying to let go, but rather, turning your attention in the other direction to the spaciousness, the emptiness, the unlimitedNESS in which this is occurring.
    And so the process of the questions are very specific. Let me give you an example of them.
    (Loud bird singing) So the birds are beautiful right now, huh? Sometimes that'll help you release a little bit. Just beauty.
    So take a moment right now and consider something that is holding your attention. That won't let you rest in a more peaceful way.
    Now, the question I'm about to ask you has to do with allowing or welcoming - as opposed to letting go. And welcoming may be too much for you regarding this feeling that you have. So the best thing...there are some options. Can you acknowledge or allow or recognize - any of these will work.
    *** So whatever you're thinking about right now, the topic itself; relationship, money, health, your spiritual journey, your quest. Can you welcome or allow for the feelings that that stirs up? And the thoughts, the story line, the memories, the physical sensations all related to that topic? In this moment, can you allow whatever's here to be here?
    *** And can you also welcome or allow any wanting that's associated with that?
    Wanting it to be different. Wanting your spiritual journey to speed up. Wishing things were different than where they are. Can you welcome that wanting?
    *** And can you also welcome or allow how you hold this issue close to you? You defend why you feel a certain way. You want to protect a position. You want to explain or justify. Can you allow that to be here, too?
    *** And now can you also welcome or allow your aversion to this? Your wishing it wasn't here? Your wanting to be done with it or free. Can you welcome that, too?
    *** Now can you notice how it feels like this story or this issue contributes to a sense of you or who you are? It's like an identity that we hold. We put name tags on and say, “This is who I am, and I'm this problem.”
    *** And now, can you also be open to the possibility that this is not the totality of who you are? So would you be open to the possibility of knowing who you are beyond this? Good.
    *** Now, would you also be open to the possibility that what you are and who you are is that which is aware of this issue? But is not the issue.
    You are that that is aware. The spaciousness in which the awareness, the consciousness...the words are irrelevant here, but it's pointing to that which is not limited by this issue.
    *** And so for a moment, just this moment in time-not recreating or reconstructing the past, even three minutes ago-would you be open to allowing yourself to rest as "this" in which this and all issues rise and fall? Appear and disappear.
    (On the screen it says: “The Fifth Way helps us lovingly allow for our emotions, thoughts and experiences, without being bound by them.”)
    Good.
    And if that doesn't seem to be unlocking your sense of freedom or your expansive sense of being, sometimes the Fifth Way orientation can be powerful to remember who you are beyond any issue. Beyond any object of memory, any story.
    So I hope this was useful, and I look forward to the next time we connect or we speak.
    Until then, peace.

    David thank you so much for your refreshingly lucid way of explaining the various methods of "letting go", it has reminded me that I do not have to "own" suffering, that I am a vessel and can allow it to pass through me. Blessings.

    I’d just decided to look up Sedona method on YT, before leaving the room. I paused ‘4 ways of letting go’ as I had to leave the room for a few minutes.
    Whilst out, I became aware of being judgemental towards myself, I said it out loud, I am judgemental. I had no idea where that came from, I just heard it . On my return I started to watch the video part 1 and then onto ‘the 5th way of letting go - explained’...this opened the flood gates😯...my list of ‘wants’ was surprisingly long... just my basic human needs that were never fulfilled.
    Thank you so much for sharing these two videos🙏🏼... many blessings 💫🤗

    I really love the use of the word Welcome. Personally, I feel like the terms "surrender", "let go", and "allow" have connotations that have thrown off my approach to really being allowing. Surrender has the connotation of losing/being defeated, let go has the connotation of needing to get rid of something, and allowing has the connotation of letting something happen but not necessarily "not-resisting" it (maybe the word that more accurately describes this is tolerance).

    some methods feel like I must deny my feelings or experiences. I love this one because it allows for "the problem", but brings my focus back to who I am (the observer). it gives a sense of peace. when the "what can you learn from the experience"-method or let-go-method doesn't help to release, this works wonders. thank you so much!

    • @DavidEllzeyAwaken
      @DavidEllzeyAwaken  3 года назад

      Yolandi, you are so clearly on target. The power of this specific approach is the allowance of the feeling and eventually the freedom of it to transform or release. But above all, returns our attention back to who we are, more than focusing only on the "problem" or emotionality. Take good care. D

      Hallo David, in 2002 I travelled to Raleigh-Durham from Australia to participate in my first Sedona method course which you held there. I had planned a trip including flying to London participating in a Sedona Method course there too as well as exploring London, then on on to Paris later on to Hong Kong then flew home to Australia. I have been practicing Mindfulness online and just now watching this RUclips clip realised that the fifth way seems to me very much like Mindfulness without the commitment to Buddhist principles which really caught my interest and may continue to practice the Fifth Way. Thank you.

    David, thank you very much. One observation. If one could effectively use the fifth way he would essentially transcend the ego altogether. So this is not really one way among the others, but beyond them and much more difficult.

    • @DavidEllzeyAwaken
      @DavidEllzeyAwaken  3 года назад

      Hi JR. Thank you for your comment. In a sense you're right that the Fifth Way helps reveal awareness as the background in which the ego is seen to be transient. Ideally any of the techniques lead to a quieting of the sense of a limited "me." But the Fifth Way is a swift approach to that for sure.

    What a joy, you have such a soothing and peaceful calm energy....Dear David, I am 44 and have many traumatic childhood memories, a lot of resentmant, hurt and blame, many negatve limiting beliefs associated with These experiences...my question to you is, is it best to release each painful Memory one by one or can I release all times when I was verbally put down; or all times when I got physically abused......and my next question is: When I release a painful Memory are the beliefs that were formed in this experience also cleared? Is it also possible to release an issue that has been accompanying a Person for many lifetimes by saying yes to the question Are you willing to release this issue throughout all your past lives frm the beginning of time ? I would be very grateful if you could take the time to provide the answers to These questions, Thank you and Many Blessings !

    • @DavidEllzeyAwaken
      @DavidEllzeyAwaken  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Viv, The progressive nature of letting go can be used on one memory at a time with good results, but sometimes a bit deeper is to see what the accumulated experiences gave rise to in terms of a "key core decision about life or self" ie, "the world is unsafe, I'm never enough" etc. THEN if you can release on this core perception, which permeates much of your life circumstances, you more fully dismantle a larger swath of suffering. OR you can also see the core identity of limitation or fear that's been constructed by life experiences, and release holding onto "the limited small me who 'supposedly' owns all these problems," and what may reveal itself is an expansive sense of Self beyond that identity. That is what the final few questions of the Fifth Way invite you to know about yourself. Awakening this Awareness. Hope this helps. Best to you! David

    I'm curious, if one is aware of the 'I' at all times, or aware of awareness at all times, would that be equivalent to this fifth method?

    • @DavidEllzeyAwaken
      @DavidEllzeyAwaken  3 года назад

      Good question Zain. Being aware of being aware is, as I would call it, near a final sense of existence. Past that, simply is fully alive in each moment and even free of the "Self-reflection" upon the experience. Just being. Life unfolding. The Fifth Way can walk you to this realization, yes. Starting with welcoming the sensations and story etc, then welcoming all the way to simply BEING awareness IN WHICH any and all issues rise and fall.

    This seems different from the way that I've understood the 5th way to be. I have often sell like the fist way is trying to teaches like we don't really exist. I like what you share here, but I really need to know more about it.

    • @DavidEllzeyAwaken
      @DavidEllzeyAwaken  4 года назад

      Great question Linda. The Fifth way is not supposing that you don't exist, but it is asking us to understand that the "me" that we think we are - is actually not a "little limited me" but rather unlimited consciousness itself - that is appearing as Linda or David. This way, the Fifth Way is simply inviting us to see that we are not a small limited self - so in that way, yes THAT self-perception is replaced with a more hopeful potential of living from a larger sense of Self. In short, you can't actually disappear, but the perception of limited self can be seen through as false. Hope this helps.

    this is returning to the ideas of David Hawkins, who worked with Levenson, whereby the idea was to observe the emotion and not try and change or modify it in anyway.

      Right on, Al, with one added element, of actually becoming aware of the spacious awareness or consciousness in which the emotion, thoughts, and sensations arise. In this way awakening to the unlimited reality of our true nature.

    Yes...In meditation I get this KIND of Freedom. But Im afraid to Carry this Freedom in 3D cos it seems that All I get in THIS LIFE is through strugling and pain. So somehow I cling to pain.
    Its funny hm?! But its sad. Greatest pain is my broken heart which Carry to harsh women of my Life.

    Can it be an object, a person, a loss, a mistake? How can I welcome in my mind a $20,000 loss?

      It is less about letting go of the "fact", but more about the emotional story that continues repeated after it's happened. Not easy, I recognize, so I say this with understanding, but it is the direction that holds more potential for freedom or relaxation.

    "I" will tell what let going is...you do it every time you want to sleep but you don't notice it because is very natural and instant and
    effortlessly ...so you let go your body on bed and you let go mind and sleep takes you....so do the same while you are awake,so body will
    relax and mind will calm but don't it as a procedure with effort but effortlessly like you do it at night.So simple and you always knew the
    way and nobody teach you how to go to sleep
