You don't need to do anything, including you actively let your body relax, because anything you do to your emotions means you're fighting your emotions.
So I think letting go means you don't need to do anything and let your mental reaction continue. Only you let your emotions continue to go on in your body, letting the ups and downs happen until the emotion dissipates at its own pace.
You see, let go means you let go and let the emotion do its own thing, go away or not, it's the emotion's own thing, not ours, we just need to give space for them to ebb and flow and dissipate on their own.
The above is my view of the principle of let go, the summary is that you let go and let the emotions do their own thing.
How exactly do you do it in practice?
1. feel where your body can feel the emotion
2. Ask yourself if you can let the feeling continue (if there is resistance, ask yourself if you can let the resistance continue, and then you have a reaction, continue to let him continue)
3. keep repeating the above steps until the emotion dissipates on its own.
This method works for me
Hello Zhong. I appreciate your thoughts and actually agree with you. In our deepest nature we lack nothing and thus need to "do" nothing to be that which we already are - open awareness in which all thoughts, feelings, and sensations rise and fall. Thus allowing or welcoming them without resistance (or accepting resistance as it rises and falls) is a great practice. The Sedona Method has 6 approaches: from letting go when we realize we are unconsciously holding tightly to a belief or story that brings us suffering - all the way to pure welcoming - as you describe. So thanks!

Thank you for inspiring the possibility of, and the choosing to believe in, the welcoming/allowing/admtting of experiences/feeling that originated from (ignorant) non-welcoming. Find where you feel the feeling, put your attention there. Relax. As well as you can.
Hi David, thanks for the clear and compassionate explanation. I have a question about resting as awareness - I often get confused and am not sure if i'm resting as awareness, or in experience. If I become aware of sight, sound, body sensations, is that resting as awareness?
Great question, Stefan. There is an irony that we must face in this. The premise is that our nature is already awareness (Consciousness, spirit, God, or other words). It is our essence. So the "me" that is trying to "rest as awareness" is in a way is an imagined me of something "other than" awareness itself which must "do" something to rest as that which we already are. That said, until we feel this deep truth, "doing" something, a technique, having a realization, etc. is all an important part of "the journey to deeper understanding." So I'd answer your question by saying, yes, being aware of sight, sound, etc, is a key. But more important is to relax back into, or rest as , THAT in which they all arise. Meaning, even if thought arises or judgment on what you see or hear arises, even that is WITHIN the spaciousness of awareness. So perhaps change it from "doing resting" to rather realizing this profound truth of the space of your being in which all rises. This realization (sometimes quiet breathing helps) can reveal itself to be the natural and organic rest of our very being. No "doing" necessary. I hope this helps.

HI, thank u for the video! I have a question, issue. I am not able to distinguish the emotion /feeling (resistance to feeling /blockage /fear, not sure) and also cant discern on which part o my body it is located in order to do the technique. Can someone give me a hand , thank you!
Juan, the name of the emotion being the right name is less important than simply acknowledging that a feeling of contraction or expansion and freedom is present. Once you are clear that the emotion is one of tension, contraction, or something similar, you can begin to ask the questions in the video. If you're willing, I'd suggest, doing this with the video and then noticing the results.
Also, the location of where a feeling is in the body is fine, and can be useful, but the releasing questions are more about our feelings "about" something: like are we happy, sad, angry, anxious, more than just the sensation and where.
However, one way to deal with sensations in the body is to ask if we have a feeling "about" the sensation: ie. frustration, or wanting it to go away, resistance, judgment, etc. Then once you decide what you feel "about" the body sensation or condition, then apply the video questions to that. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Firstly there was no hesitation, no wavering in the presence of stillness, of my wellbeing. But then the question regarding a belief, thought, etc was met with resistance. What if when you ask, if we would allow and the answer is immediately NO, then what? There is no defending, there is no anything other than just emphatic NO.
Then you ask yourself, can you allow yourself to say "No." Pause and then can you allow the resistance. That which we are has no boundaries as to what it allows. Only the mind or judging self has an opinion of yes or no. So, we pause and allow even that ...
I have a fear of going to hell after I die. Strangely, I had this fear while I was religious and also now that I’m an agnostic atheist.
The hardest part is to identify the feeling behind the problems we have.
Do you have a technique how to do that?
One approach is to keep the answer simple. For example, when you think of an issue, what is the feeling? Is it grief, anger, fear, depression. This, rather than the story "about" the feeling, or "why" you have the feeling. The story or the "why, removes you from the present moment which is the only place for peace to be known when processing or releasing. Review: 1. Issue. 2. Feeling. 3. Do the releasing process. 4. Repeat until more calm or quiet can be experienced. This can be progressive, not often a swift shift, but at times that can occur.
You are not your thoughts , feelings , issue or emotion, you must make the distinction of you and your thoughts etc.
As a parent( you) to your child ( your thoughts, feelings , emotions issues etc)

Hi Ado, The idea of something defining us is based on the idea we perceive a feeling, thought, or belief be the totality of who we are. So we let it define our sense of self and behave in the world from that one self-perception. Instead of understanding the larger reality that we are countless parts and experiences in any day or moment or life. This allows us to have parts, even thoughts, feelings, or beliefs, but not be limited to them as we live life. This also allows our freedom to choose with a wider consciousness. Ultimately, sensing our greater nature than any single part that we felt defined by.
