- Cam Rackam, 42, is an NFT artist from Huntington Beach, California. Cam graduated with a BFA in drawing and painting from Cal State Fullerton. He had attended and was featured in many art exhibitions over the years for his work in oil painting. But once the pandemic hit in 2020, Cam pivoted to making NFT art. On October 27th, 2021, Cam sold his entire 10,000 NFT collection for 660 ethereum, or $2.6 million. His cut: $738,593.97.

Did you hear about the guy who spent $2.9 million on a Jack Dorsey tweet NFT and resold it for a whopping $300? NFT’s are worthless.
I swear no matter how much NFTs get explained, I don't understand it. I feel like I am just missing the logic behind it. Buying something digitally that you neither enjoy nor keep nor can you even necessarily use for something else is mind boggling in every-way.
I feel the same way. To me, buying a NFT is nothing but an ego trap.

The coolest thing about this is he didn't know it was possible, he wasn't trying to achieve this, he just kept working on his art and then something miraculous happened. The unknown is full of miracles 💫

Interestingly enough, the pandemic had a good impact on him. Because of the circumstance in 2020, he diversified his selling point and finally made a big hit.

The NFTs are worth more than twice as much as they cost at mint and that's for the most common ones. The more rare ones are going for over 10x mint price.
The final buyers will be the losers. As long as these guys sell in time, they will have made money, not lost it.

Wasn’t really 32 minutes though. He probably took many hours to create and design the 10,000 different NFT designs.
You can't design 10,000, even if it's a crappy collection. You must not be a designer. That would take a lifetime! These seem based on a few design which are later autogenerated into 10,000 I believe.
They're auto generated using a script. Possibly a python script with an initial "sprite" image that is modified and copied using the script.

Most of its speculative hype, not art. They see money making opportunity, so as long as they are not last fool in chain of transactions they hope the will make a profit.

I would love to get into the NFT market but it's expensive with the gas price alone, something could cost $18 but the gas could be over $400
Gas prices fluctuate quite a bit. Sunday mornings are usually the best time, gas can get under $20.

Those saying this is a "scam" obviously have never dealt with fine art markets. Are $9000 t-shirts and shoes a scam? Or can you just not afford them?
I've seen ridiculous prices on tshirts and shoes, but most are vintage or part of a unique collaboration. This is more like instant collabs left and right with no real background.

That's on paper. They are talking about the decrease in value of ETH (Ethereum), not the value of the NFTs. Tech stock investors have seen as bad and even worse losses on a percentage basis.
