I just need to confirm something since I am a beginner
When you go into a shadow position , you start the basic step on 1 on your left not right ? Could you explain why please

It doesn't matter. There are 2 ways to go in the shadow. On 5 to the left (go into your followers step) or add a suave/mambo/wave or any other move and go on 1.
When you exit, you adapt. Either you have to go back on the right count or your follower.
So depends on what you want to do but it's not a strict rule.
