Nice! I can see the timing variation and reverse turns seem simplistic but would advance and alter the feel of a dance with a partner.

Definitely. Almost everything that looks easy/simple is actually difficult for someone without training (and this is normal).
There are a lot of dancers that mess up the simple things, that is why everyone in every domain says "foundation is the most important".

I would love to know what shoes Marius is wearing. Seems he is able to spin easily in them.

Regular shoes, but with foam sole. This are "slippery" on woden floor.

Trying to figure this out with an engineer's mindset 🤔 Can someone check my math?
    1. basic turn = inside turn R/L (F/M) on 1, R/L hand underarm
    2. prep turn = prepped outside turn L/R on 2, L underarm / L behind back
    3. delayed turn = inside turn L/R on 7, L/R hand underarm
    4. back turn = outside turn L/R on 1, R underarm / L behind back
    5. double turn = double inside turn L/R on 5, L underarm / L behind back
    6. fast turn = inside spin R/L on 1, R underarm / L free spin
    7. half turn = inside half turn L on 5, L underarm, return on 5, taps when turning
    8. back prep turn = prepped outside turn R on 2, L underarm / prepped inside turn R on 6, L behind back
There should be some kind of rulebook on which way to turn, on which count, leading with which hand. And to all dances.

Which way you can turn the follower depends on which foot she is on and which way her momentum is going. It's only indirectly related to counts.
You can almost always lead with any hand or both hands.
      This goes for all dances.

Your last statement is actually correct. There are "rules" to each dance.
Imagine that these turns, we teach them on a duration of6 to 8 months, because there are a lot of details (foundation) you need to learn.
Basic step, when to prepare a move, how to lead, how to shift weight, how to use hips, how to use upper body, how to.... insert 100 more techniques.
Which need practice so they become "natural".
Your numbered list is ok, and that is the general stuff that is happening.
