Stanley - you come across as an honest person & I sure don't believe you would have any reason to lie to us. All seems doable as you explained and Lipa is listed as a low cost of living area also. And a beautiful area as well. You can live very cheaply for sure if little entertainment, travel, medical, or vices for sure. For me that is is more of a surviving budget then a living budget, but to each their own. I find wine much more costly in the Philippines, and beer as well except when at restaurants. Liquor is roughly the same depending on what state you are in as taxes can vary so much. Rent is the key for sure. Good on him!

800 bucks is possible but not maintainable. I think $1500 would be a good number for peace of mind and to cover the unexpected. The dollar right now is unusually strong, so he is able to get by with 800. I grew up in the Philippines, and for as long as I can remember, the Peso likes to stay around the 47-53 range per dollar, and it can go back there quickly. If the USD hit 47 again, he'd be spending about $1000 to maintain that lifestyle assuming all prices stay the same.

Wow man I don't care where you live in the Philippines it's freaking hot, did I tell you it's hot here! So basically that guy lives a very basic life no travel, no meat not eating out! are we talking 2024, prices sounds more like 1990 prices. I'm sorry I think the math is not a little but a lot off.
HELLO the unknowns here will kill you financially!!!! Nothing on Visa cost lol a travel Visa will wipe out that budget every other month. We are talking a normal person you can live like a hermit. You will pay skin tax here, come on coach anything is possible! I know these numbers are not yours I'm not talking truth here, I'm talking about why a guy comes here not for the food or health care.
Sorry this guys partner passed away I see a lot of guys here 60 yrs old with like a 20 yr old.. haha. There is no way I mean no way a female will stay or date you here it's about the $$$$$ here you must pay to play.
If you live like this guy just stay in the US, get a cheap travel trailer move to a no income tax state you would be better off. It's not that cheap here I live on a budget housing in some areas there asking US prices. Come here but verify, you will get caught up in the new 60 day visa prices $$$ being homeless is also possible but why?
