I have the Nova U tenor and concert and am happy with both. The tenor has metal frets and a wider neck so more flexible. But I like the sound of the concert better. I had the soprano but gave it up for a yellow Flight Tus 35. The Flight has a wider ranging sound and is very playable for a soprano. Now one of my favourites, despite it’s cheaper price. Nice to see you reviewing “value” models that strike above their class.
Exactly the comparison I was looking for! To listen to the sound samples, back to back - the Enya Nova U Concert starts at 2:39 and the Enya Ultra Travel Soprano starts at 5:20.
Yes! The orange is my favorite Enya Nova U! Has been out of stock forever. 🙁 I'm waiting for them to be available again. I would expect shipping from outside the U.S. to raise the cost considerably. I also like the Flight travel ukuleles and have 3 of the older versions (not ultra.) Thanks for your comparison review! 👍
I really like the sound of the flight soprano. It had a rich sound. I do, however, enjoy playing my Enya Nova U Mini too. 😃 Also, great cardigan, Alex. Love the color. 👍
Great cardigan! Looks great on you, almost upper crust! Something you'd wear in your library with a pipe! Does the Flight come in tenor and if so, what are your thoughts about it?
Did someone knit you that stunning cardigan? It’s a winner! The splash of color was indeed welcome. What difference does a zero fret make? Does it affect playability? Tuning? I’ve wondered this several times. Of these two, I liked the Flight. That’s me, btw, the older audience. And I would always go to a uke store. I wouldn’t buy a guitar or violin or piano from a big online behemoth, so why, an ukulele? Not!
I had a flight TUC-35 DB. Two fret markers were missing so I had to send it back for a refund. I was really disappointed cause I like it a lot 😢. Maybe I should‘be kept it and buy fret markers? Idk 🤷♀️. They only offered me a refund and that’s it 😢
It would take a lot to wear down the frets. I have two Flight long-neck travel sopranos (one has Martin clear strings, the other, the original Aquila's it came with), and after two years of fairly soild use, there are no visible signs of wear on either, except the paint on some of the frets has faded away.
Hi, can you please tell me if it would be smart to switch out the strings from my Flight Sakura travel ukulele ? The strings that are in it sound kind of squeaky….and if so, which strings would you recommend please? It is a long neck soprano :) Thank you for all those amazing videos you make!
Glad to see you like them Alex! 😊
I do. I was skeptical but I'd much rather recommend these for a beginner than anything else out there at that price right now
Is it possible to buy directly from flight from Canada? If so can I please have a link.
Thanks for the comparison! Lovely cardigan!

Would love to see the flight version in tenor for travel. Even concert w/be interesting
Good ukes, but that cardigan... Now, that is a winner! Great stuff as always, Alex. Cheers
I love both Enya and Flight ❤ Both stand up to the Deep South US extreme heat and humidity. I’m anxious to try the Ultra Travel series.
Good video Alex, I've got the nova u soprano in my cab (lorry) I get what you mean being light. Got me pondering o this flight ultra now 🤔
Love your orange cardigan You look very distinguished with your full beard but In a really fun way !!!
😆
That is an awesome cardigan!
Thanks Alex. Flight for me. Am on the older side of the street.😀
Just checked and see that the Enya has a radiused fretboard. Any idea what the radius is? 7:43
...very nice cardigan, Alex? Makes you look more serious!
🧐
I love this flight, it resembles my Ortega Keiki a lot. And idea of this video- travel+affordable ukes is my subject of interrest now. Thanks!👍
Love the cardigan!

Not yet but no doubt it will... and should.
Thank you ❤

Do either of them have a radiused fretboard
Really like the orange cardigan !
Alex, what strings are on the flight?
Wait… the orange Enya changes colour to pink?! 😆

What do you think about the frets? Do they wear out after a lot of playing?

@@Mandobird1 that's good to hear, thank you

I’ve looked at some of your strings videos, but am feeling to overwhelmed to tell you the truth 😂
I don't think strings are going to really make a difference on something made of plastic. If in doubt - try Martin M600 strings 😉
@@SouthernUkuleleStore thank you…. It is definatly “á string problem” so im going to try to switch them
Can you explain the zero fret and what it is supposed to do, please?
It takes the cut of the nut out of the scale length meaning the scale starts at the fret itself. This is good for intonation
@@SouthernUkuleleStore Thank you.
Does the Flight Ultra have metal frets?
No itMs just painted to made it look that way.
Are they left handed instruments, or are you just playing left handed?
They are right handed instruments
