I think the concert is a great compromise between all worlds. Waterproof, thin profile, good range, guitar style strap, banjolele punch, and excellent sustain.

I love your video's. As a beginner i started with a tenor Ukulele. I have since gotten a concert size Uke. Trying to fit fingers on the concert is challenging for the D chord as an example. I cannot imagine dropping to a Soprano. I just ordered the Nova U Concert size. I travel the southwest US with my van and look forward to not having to worry about weather or wear effects on the Uke.
Thanks for the quality sound samples! I just started playing ukulele a couple months ago in March, I got the Enya EUC-25D partly because of your video reviews of it. I'm going to get the soprano to bring on camping and kayaking weekends so my EUC doesn't get hurt. :)
I just saw your video. I have my concert size for 2 weeks now and loving it. I saw you review Bondi Ukes and I am awaiting my soprano size from them. With those two will be my beginners tools. Love your channel and very straightforward videos.

Great review, thank you. Appreciated the close up phototherapy, kind of like looking at a uke in person. Thanks for the sound tests, the soprano does have a bright Hawaiian tone. I like the slimline soprano for it's musical elegance and strength. I have my ear out for the "perfect" uke to carry with me, this one's close. The only question I have is... durability, could you do an update review in the new year? Be good to hear how it holds up with real world use. Thanks for your styling blend of art and knowledge. Thank you for this excellent review! I have the concert size of this Uke and love it. The sound quality is amazing. I will eventually buy the soprano size because I think it will be more practical for adventure travel. No major travel now because of Covid, so I will wait a while to see if they come out with new colours just for some variety. The black one is actually really beautiful, classic and stylish. It reminds me of a grand piano. I suspect they will eventually add a version with a strap as this could make it versatile in a different way.

I had the Enya concert and just bought the Enya soprano and like them both for different reasons. I bought the blue model and it is beautiful, and now it does come with the strap buttons. By the way, I just found you on RUclips and subscribed to your channel and am loving your videos!

I have the concert version of this, in part due to your review of it, and am glad to see that the soprano is also very good! I hope Enya offers more colors of the sorano at some point.

I got my soprano in Feb 2022 with strap buttons. I also re-strung with low g & have had no scratching from wound wire. I would like to HEAR comparison btwn Enya EUS-25D & carbon-fiber (CF) soprano.... I LOVE my CF soprano & it travels everywhere as we are a full time campground host for OR state parks, where we encourage guests to bring their musical abilities to the community campfire to play spoons, washboard, banjo, guitar, ukulele...? Happy trails, Miss Katie --- Ms. CharLee, solo lady van dweller spreading joy, praising Papa God with our 4 precious ukuleles... [Enya Soprano CF & EUS-25, Lahanu Spalted Maple Electric Concert & last, but not least, a Vangoa with high G & an excellent voice for Hawaiian music!]
I got the Soprano from Amazon. Love the punch and brightness of this uke. Beats the Concert as well. There you go. Appreciate your review almost 3 years later. Oh, and it has strap buttons. Great uke and cheap.
I found the soprano much easier and more fun to play because of the lower weight and also because the neck is wider and the strings are more widely spaced, so chords like D and E are easier.

I would prefer the strap buttons on the soprano simply because even with my wooden one, certain materials of clothing make it slippery and harder to hold against the body

I have the concert one, also in black, and it is so comfortable to play. I don’t think I would ever consider the soprano but if they come out with a tenor, that’d be awesome. LOL
...and now they have, I bought the concert last year, but hardly used it as I much prefer tenors, now they have a tenor size I snapped it up, it's almost perfect, real metal frets too, with or without acoustic plus, love it!
They have done an update on the soprano it now has strap buttons . I love the soprano.

Hey @Joanne Chandler ! As a beginner I want to buy a Enya nova concert but it looks like it has unvisible frets, I mean it’s so black. I don’t know what to do. The TENOR U PRO, you can see the frets, winner ! But not the concert . Is a TENOR too big for a beginner?
@@chantalsaulnier2746 I have the Enya Nova U Concert carbon Fiber in black, Enya Nova U carbon fiber Soprano in (blue ) it looks turquoise, Enya Concert solid mahogany which also sounds beautiful. My favorite size is the concert. I’ve not purchased a Tenor size yet. I bought Enya’s on Amazon, I went to a music store first to try the 2 sizes out. The price and extras were great on Amazon. On the frets I really haven’t had any problems between the colors. The cord finger placement soon becomes muscle memory. I try practice a little every day, starting with the cords I know then add one more at a time.

I want the bigger one but not sure it fits in my luggage. Worth the risk I think. I like that it comes with strap buttons.

I have the Nova Concert and put a low G Worth Brown--it sounds great. It's the one I reach for most.
I got the tenor version with a low G, most songs sound better on it to me, only for a few songs I prefer the high g
Now Enya can produce a tenor version. :)
Actually the original Nova is pretty much right in between a concert and tenor. :)

I just got my red Nova from Amazon. I'm not sure if the bridge is too high? The action seems a little higher than what I'm seeing in the videos. I'm not sure if that's the case or not. What should I do? Is there a way to compare? I'm from College Place, WA

Hi! I’m so excited for you and congratulations on your new instrument. It comes with a high G. It does state on the Amazon description of the instrument to not place steel strings on the Nova U because it’s plastic and will wear down the frets. I don’t know if it would cause any intonation issues but you could try nylon low G. I have the tenor nova pro that I restrung with a nylon low G, and I like it. I have my concert nova I with the high G and I love it as it is.

Any fret wear been apparent on the mini? Keep hearing about them getting dented.
Have both I'm a soprano man even my large hands they are a joy.the radius fret board makes all the difference..

Is the saddle of the soprano ukulele removable, like it is on the concert size? I've seen conflicting information on that. Thanks!
No not removable, I just got it. Not sure if they will change it on later version. Aaction is low I don't see the reason for making adjustment. Compare to her's mine comes with strap button.

Very nice instruments but I am not sure about having a plastic instrument or any kind of man made product string instrument. All this I also can see that those frets will wear out at some point if they are not metal. There is no comparison to the wooden Enya instruments. You will never get a good tone from plastic, you only can get that from tone woods like mahogany, red cedar, maple, walnut etc. My thoughts in regards to these new Enya ukulele.

Is it only meant to be a travel ukulele or van it be used on a daylly basis?
I use mine on a daily basis. I have tea enjoyed it over the past 3 years.

What would be really cool, seeing that the fretboard is plastic, that it could be held in place by magnets and be removed and swapped with another fretboard of a different design/material. Just a shower thought I guess 😂

Seriously, if you WANT to get turned off to this instrument forever buy this brand and model....I was excited, watched videos, and now that I have this shit.....I have to give it to some child before I smash this tiny shit out of frustration....seriously, thank God I have a bass and a piano....AVOID AVOID hell AVOID THIS INSTRUMENT ALL TOGETHER just get a guitar.....cheaper and better.

This post makes no sense. This is a good cheap uke. Intonation is good. String spacing not great for my needs and I do wish the action was lower at the nut. However intonation is spot on and the instrument does not have an echoey plastic sound. I have a new model soprano.
@@bnolsen All you have to be is an 11 year old and your hand may even be able to fret some actual chords. Junk.
I own both and I love them. I play them more often than all of my five wooden guitars just because you always can grab one and carry it in your bag everywhere and if there is low or high humidity or a bump in a side it will be no drama like with a Martin or a Gibson😬
Enya is a horrible company at least for me very bad experience with no customer service
They responded to me in 24 hours. Customer service is great, I would try to contact them again through amazon. You know sometimes email domain gets filtered out.
