I’m surprised how different the 3 ukes sound to my ears, especially between the TUS50 and UTS40. I am missing my ultra travel concert and itching to play it side by side with the rest of my collection.
I am digging that TUC 35 the best. Nice. They all sound better than I ever would have suspected . Did I miss what kind of strings you put on the concert? I know the ultra has Flight Fluorocarbon and the other you said Worth Clear? But what kind are on the black concert size?
@@4stringboy- One last question. I usually buy from ukulele shops because they set up ukes to ensure they are playable. It does not appear there is anything to set up on these, correct? These should come out of the box ready to play?
We have an old Travel. But we don't really play it that often anymore. We looked at the Ultra Travel - but due to our gripes with the Travel model, we did not buy it. But your review is giving it best notes.... Let's see...
They really sound nice. Of course you are playing them. Amazingly inexpensive. Paid a bit more for my Formica Martin travel concert which favors the lower register and string choice is trickier.
I would pay $10 more for metal frets. I owned a plastic fret ukulele by a different brand, and the frets wore away too much within a year. Fourteen frets at the body please and add a cutaway model. They also need strap buttons or at least one. I have tried fluorocarbon strings by D'addario on my KLOS ukuleles and didn't like them. (I also didn't like the KLOS ukuleles and returned both. Too many flaws at a grand apiece to keep.)
You make them sound absolutely magical!
Thanks fam 🧡
10:27 I haven't heard the uke yet, but you've sold me 😅

@ correct, all 4 of them in our house have come straight from the box and been great, there’s nothing to adjust here!
Will you make an episode on your flight A10? 🤭
I surely can!

Yeah, I understand putting them in the same pot when thinking about them, but they really are very different!

What difference would soft tension fluorocarbon strings make on these ukes?
Depends on the string - I imagine a set of Ukelogic soft tensions would in general make them sound nicer
