  • As per title.
    In yesterday's gamecube testing video, I used default settings (and also underclocked MMJR) but F-Zero GX didn't run great and only at 45FPS. Viewers came to the rescue to help me out, so in this video, I will show you the solution to getting a perfect 60FPS
    Now just bear in mind, this is for the Odin Handheld which has a Snapdragon 845. It may work on lower end processors but I have not tested it. Let me know in the comments if it works on other mobile devices and handhelds.

    Just dropped a like and subscribed. I haven't received my Pro but I like how you are getting help and giving us pointers on the sweet spots on this console. I'm going to check out more of your vids.

    I am struggling to get consistent FPS on Odin Lite, I have Dolphin MMJR2 and I cannot keep more than 30ish fps on average in game. The launch is 25ish fps, during the race it will sit around 30-35ish, and occasionally it will spike to 60fps then fall back down. I have override emulated cpu clock speed checked and set it to 400%, not 300%. I have dual core selected, rendering set to OpenGL (Vulcan has a weird black box in one of the menus and doesn't perform better). Do you have any recommendations?

  • @dsphotos
    @dsphotos Год назад

    MMJ2 android app: Go to game settings -General -check Dual Core: this fixed all fps/stuttering issues on my samsung s7FE tablet, 1st race perfect, but then you get an error message, so thats the main issue with this game and emulator. the dual multicore support needs to work better
    update: also unchecking sync GPU on Skip Idle Hack fixed also the crashing error, now it runs perfectly fine

    Very useful video but how on earth do you remove the onscreen controls while keeping the buttons mapped on the Odin? If I select Toggle Controls it removes them from the screen but I lose the mapped buttons on the Odin, there must be a way, can you help mate? Thanks

    • @JimRPG
      @JimRPG  Год назад

      i think you can also adjust the opacity or transparency of the on screen buttons. I don't remember if that's the way to do it but try that.

    you should have done the testing on the harder to emulate tracks like big blue or fire field

      This track is a benchmark for most people RGC , taki udon , eta prime always try this track.

      @@shlokshah5379 i know. they should test harder to emulate tracks because it starts to stutter in the second and third cups

    • @CaliforniaRaisens
      @CaliforniaRaisens 2 года назад

      @@shlokshah5379 This track is the easiest to emulate, the real test is the sand track which is track 2. I seen devices run the first track fine and then it falls apart on the other tracks.

    For some reason I overclock at 300%, 1x resolution no widescreen and the FPS hovers around 30-40 with speed at 50-60%. What am I doing wrong???

    I'll need to test again... Even at 300% emulated clock I wasn't able to get a stable 60 fps on 2x, didn't test 1x. Wonder if there's a bit of silicon lottery effect going on too.

    • @JimRPG
      @JimRPG  2 года назад

      You should be able to do it at 2x. (3x then the GPU starts bottlenecking).
      Did you try OpenGL instead of Vulkan?

    • @DjFIL007
      @DjFIL007 2 года назад +1

      Yeah. OpenGL, 300%, 1x and 2x now tested. High Performance (fan on "Smart" profile)... keeps dipping between 45-60 fps, and unfortunately gameplay speed is locked to frame rate in this title. Oh well, thanks for reply.

    I’m curious why overclocking the emulation of the GameCube CPU helps.

    • @JimRPG
      @JimRPG  2 года назад

      I'm not an expert, but an overclock is a increase in the cycle of the emulated CPU, so there's something that's not emulating properly and needs more cycles to run. Because its locked to 60FPS, most of the other aspects run at a 'normal' speed, but helps speed up the slow part. If you unlocked the framerate there's a faster framerate due to the overclock, the rest of the game would run fast.

    • @JimRPG
      @JimRPG  2 года назад

      Btw - try it out for yourself, there's a frame limiter on AetherSX2, so you can overclock it, unlock the framerate. Good example is Soul Calibur 2 on PS2. I have a video on it. ruclips.net/video/9rNsSt5LdnY/видео.html&t
