I grew up in Poland in Catholic Faith. I underwent religious education all the way from primary school well into junior high but all the teaching we received were just retelling or summaries of Bible stories which most of us either already knew or could easily read ourselves. Very little time was dedicated to actual Christian Theology or even the differences between different denominations. I only got into proper theology with your content.

Yes Nestorius and Teodoret from Cyrus and from Mopsuestia did not denied that Mary is Mother of Christ but instead of caling Mary Mother of God in Jesus because God even in Human flash Has no Birth or Begining he rejected that but died in comunion with Apostolic church in conthary to that his discapules rebeld and emphazised the teachings off Ibas or Apolinary of Laodycea the semiarians but now they teach the previous Nestorian teachings.Yes itis more accurate maybe to conect theherezies of Arius -arianismandFilostorgios (anomean arianism)with islamthath was a fruit off arianism, onophistism is sometimes falsly teached among some protestant-shvankeldists or some rebelies catholic groups=some sedevacantist like the Most Holy Family Abbey those are radicals that spilt off Lefevre-Fenney suporters ,denaing or neglecting the Human but Supernatural Nature off Jesus in His Flash and teaching only about His Divinithy in Human Flash .
Mormonism is in dead like some masonary groups a sort of gnosis, manicheizm and not cristianihy and leads to mithology and buddism.
Eastern Orthodox Apostolic church leads also to pelagianism and pantheism and even, henotheism or buddism also.To pelagianism leads the Baptist Christianithy.

Muslim here. We believe that Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) is a great Prophet of God whom God allowed to perform miracles, the same way he allowed Moses to perform miracles. To lead the Children of Israel back to the law of Moses, back on the path of God.
    - We believe he was born from a virgin birth from Mary without a father.
    - We believe those who followed (not worshipped) Christ was saved as his message was to worship the one true God and follow the teachings of Christ and hold on to the Law.
    - The Quran doesn't say the Bible is true, but rather the Injeel (the Gospel) which is the direct words of Christ not the written book you have today. And what was the word of the Injeel is the same message of the Qur'an
    - We believe Jesus will return at the end of times, break the cross, deny any who worshiped him, kill the anti-Christ and lead the true believers. (Those who worshipped One True God, Pure Monotheism)
    - Muslims believe that Allah (means The God in Arabic) is the same God that spoke to Moses, that same God that Jesus called out to, the God of all the prophets from Adam, Noah, King David etc...

Just having cobblestone makes it look a bit blank in my opinion. (Maybe you were already planning on doing this? I can understand it being a pain having tried it my self. Even just gathering enough cobblestone to built something like that cathedral is already hard enough without having to smelt it to stone and finally craft it into stone bricks)

If you qualify the phrase as "Mary, the mother of God the Son" then I can agree with it, as certainly Mary birthed the Incarnate Word of God into this world. I have absolutely no problem with Jesus being wholly God and wholly man, but without the qualifier I suggested, it sounds dangerously close to modalism, conflating the Father, Son and Spirit. Which of course we also don't want to do. That's just my 2¢, and I'm more than willing to discuss it if you like. (I'm not sure if I'm explaining my position well, either.)

Talking about the two natures of Christ is actually so hard. On one hand there is the Nestorian problem. On the other hand, anyone who hasn't studied enough theology would simply be confused by the affirmation that God died on the cross. Because people use words in different ways, it's sometimes hard to actually figure out what someone means.
Sometimes it is necessary to figure out what the core of a heresy actually is. Sometimes people believe things that logically would lead to heresy but would not deny the heresy. In some sense these need to be differentiated, because otherwise believing in any two contradictory statements would be heresy (since under the rules of logic, a contradiction proves anything). There is of course also the distinction of saying something that's heretical in ignorance vs. actually affirming the heresy (an example Gavin mentions in his book would be thanking the father for dying on the cross, a misunderstanding of saying God died on the cross.

Yes, I think it’s more of a semantics thing than a full heresy, at least as the video explains it. I do believe that Mary was the mother of Jesus, and that Jesus is God, but without full context it makes it sound as if the entire Godhead were birthed by Mary. Saying Mary, mother of Jesus, rather than Mary, mother of God immediately gives a qualifier that Mary was the mother of the Incarnation of the Godhead, not the entire Godhead. That’s the hard thing about a Trinity, you gotta be specific with your language/intentions at every turn or else everybody’s heads will spin, lol.

This congregation idolizes the physical temple that was destroyed and is currently looking forward to its reconstruction.
I know that this isn't as big of a deal, but I also noticed that since they congregate in a Baptist church, they have access to a Christian flag, yet it sits idly in a corner while the American and Israeli flag are on full display. The Quran isn't inconsistent about how it views the Jesus and the Gospel. It states that the original Gospel of Jesus Christ was corrupted into what it is in the modern Bible, thus there's essentially two versions of the Gospel, one that God knows and one that mankind has come to known, and it's the same with the Torah and Psalms. When the Quran says it is building upon the previous books, it's saying that the original Torah, Psalms, and Gospels (not their modern versions) were, in fact, sent by God to man through the prophets and the Quran is the continuation of God's message, connecting Islam to the books. And when it says that there are corruptions in the books, it's referring to their modern forms. In short, it says that Jesus Christ spoke the original Gospel that the Quran is building from, but the Gospel of the time of the Quran was a corrupted version of its original. Whether you buy into that is one thing but the Quran itself is at least consistent about it.

There where literaly witnesses in the thousands per day confirming the gospel in the days of Jesus, and so many copies where made, that to make a revised version would be to oust your self as a liar. The Gospel as recorded by Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John are accurate. Jewish historians even confirm it by trying to deny it. To give an example, the jews say the signs of the messiah where fulfilled by the power of satan. They say it because they could not deny what he did, only attempt to deny how, as if God is less authoritive than satan on what will and won't happen.
If there is a religiouse text trying to courupt the people, it would be the ones trying to chang or add onto the Gosples in the bible, like the book of mormon, and the quran.

Hello, Muslim here, great vid, but I wanna just clarify some things you said about Islam.
I don't really get the use of Nestorianism for Islam over the historical Nazarenes or Ebionites since those two groups were much closer to Islamic beliefs, but I guess you only wanted to include stuff that still influences modern Christian thought.
The Quran isn't inconsistent about the Bible. The Bible, and the Torah, are considered "past revelations". As in, divinely inspired by Prophets, but corrupted by man away from Islam (the concept of submission to God).
We believe that Jesus the Messiah was brought to Earth by God by a virgin birth through Mary to preach submission to God (Islam). He was wholly man who conducted miracles only by asking God for assistance. He was not crucified and was instead brought up to Heaven by God to wait for the Day of Judgement.
You are generally right in the difference in the Christian vs. Islamic conception of God. While we believe the God of the Quran to be the same God of the Bible and Torah, we believe God to be an utterly unique perfect being of infinite power, grace, and mercy who does not lower himself to the status of Man as he is undividable and has no equal.
Hope I clarified some things. I never knew so much about Christian denominations so your channel is pretty cool.

The later traditions and hadiths are inconsistent with the Quran. They say the previous scriptures got corrupted, yet the Quran itself confirms them, and specifically mentions the scriptures the Jews and Christians had "in [their] hands" at the time of Muhammed. The thing is, we have the preserved biblical manuscripts from before, during and after Muhammed's lifetime, with which we can compare. Also note, Muhammed visited Christians and their churches in Ethiopia during his life.

But Jesus also asked in the Book of Matthew: "Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?" Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
So, Mary matters, but not exclusively. I don't think she needs to be the recipient of prayers for intercession. Alive or dead, she's not Divine.

Well, I find using the phrase "Mary is the mother of God the Son" to be just a bit more descriptive and helpful in this case. Or at least defining that she was His human mother --- because Jesus always was and always will be ("in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God).
At the same time, getting nitpicky on terminology is a slippery slope. We don't know everything --- God and who He is, is above all human comprehension. So we just have to believe full heartedly what the Bible says even if it doesn't make sense --- and in this case it's understanding Christ being fully God and fully man and understanding the trinity.

just a little clarification as a muslim, the quran states that judaism and christianity were both from the same God as islam, but through a lot of factors the guidance of God given to his prophets, many you know, have been derailed and some lies have festered within their truth, we still believe there is truth in them tho, to make it simple judaism was the one true faith until christianity and christianity was the one true faith until islam. Islam proclaims that Jesus was a miracle of god that he willed into existence, and made him speak in the crib and gave him the power to perform miracles in his name and jesus grew up to be one of his prophets. in islam's view to proclaim that jesus is the son of god is the same as proclaiming adam and eve as children of god, the strict separation between man and divine is a big part of islam. to be a parent is not the same as being a creator.

I have barely begun to rebuild my faith in god, and I am already having a crisis of faith.I am unsure of which denomination I should follow. Or, should I follow a more tradition rich heavily structured and centralized denomination such as presbyterian, or Wesleyan. Or even Catholic or Orthodox. Confirmed as Abomination in Leviticus and Deuteronomy! ) is just another way of saying "the spirit of the age" and that "spirit of the age" of "Anythingarianism" was confirmed as absolute *Bunkum* by Charles Spurgeon. Eternity cannot have an End! The Eternal "age" is entirely different to this Rapidly Ending, Laodicean, church "age" as men, unable to endure sound Biblical Doctrine such as the 5 Points of Grace, heap unto themselves false Arminian or Universalist "teachers" to scratch their itching Ears, and Entirely different to the forthcoming Millennial Kingdom, in that Eternity has *No End*

Eternal *Means* Eternal, Everlasting, Infinitum! Eternal, not until the end of some mystical age, but until...forever! Without End!
Augustine was the finest theological mind since the Apostle Paul, a mighty man of God, a Titan of a Sheep and Servant of Christ! a man completely infused with the Holy Ghost, to deny the Writings of Augustine is to deny the Writer within Augustine, the Holy Ghost, the Third Member of the Divine Tri-une Godhead, the same Writer as was in Paul!
Calvinism *is* the Gospel, the 5 Points of Grace are the very Core of Biblical Christianity, it is the 5 Points of Grace that Separate true, Biblical, Reformed Christianity, from every cult and false religion, from Papacism downwards, that there is! Calvinism *is* the Gospel! the one given by Christ to the 12 Apostles, taught by the apostle Paul, Written by Augustine of Hippo, Exalted by John Calvin and Ulrich Zwingli, Proclaimed by John Knox and Myles Coverdale, Named at the Synod of Dort by the Puritans, Expounded by Augustus Toplady and George Whitefield, thundered through 19th Century England by J.C Ryle and C.H. Spurgeon, adored by A.W. Pink and J.I. Packer, and taught to this day by John MacArthur and Justin Peters! It *is the Gospel* ! To deny it is to Deny the Gospel and to Deny the Entire Bible!
Remember, all men will pledge allegiance to God, and all will proclaim Jesus as Lord...but Unbelievers will *not* be Saved, those Elected for Destruction before the Foundation of the world will *not* be saved. For they are the ones who will Say "LORD LORD" and what is the Reply that Christ has Confirmed?
"And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." -Matthew Chapter 7 Verse 23.
They will be thrown into the lake of Fire Regardless.
"And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Revelation Chapter 20 Verse 15!
You are an *Unbeliever* if you hold to Universalism, as you hold to a false gospel, confirmed and condemned in the Bible *itself* as Accursed!
"But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed." _-Galatians Chapter 1 Verses 8 and 9.
You must Repent of your Teaching of Damnable Heresy and Believe the Gospel of the Holy, Preserved, Infallible, Bible! The Gospel of Eternal Salvation by Grace alone, for the *Elect alone* , through Faith alone, on Christ Jesus the Lord and *His* Finished Works upon the Cross alone!
I Pray that God in His Love and His Mercy Opens up Your eyes and takes away the Scales so you can see you are living in Heresy, In New Age Pagan Lies, and in utter Disobedience and Sin! to Expose your Wretchedness and Nakedness, so You will Run as fast as You can to the Cross of Jesus Christ, to be Forgiven, to be washed clean in the Water and the Blood that flowed from His riven Side, to be Clothed in His Perfect Righteousness as a White Robe, and Saved Eternally! Christians believe that one can only enter heaven through Jesus, which means one must truly accept that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that he died for our sins on the cross. By not proclaiming Jesus as the son of God, and instead believing him to only be a prophet, Islam is against God. I don’t think you mean to say that because they both believe that Jesus will come down on judgement day to save them that they should get along. However, if you do believe this, understand that the reason their is a heavy divide is because many Christians, including myself, believe Islam is a false religion, and that the prophet Muhammad is the false prophet revealed in the Bible, and also that Isu is the false messiah revealed in the Bible. There are many verses in the Bible coming from Jesus, God, and other revelations that back the believability of this belief. I do not think you actually believe that the two religions should get along only because they both believe Jesus will come back on judgement day, but I also want to add clarity to the context of why they are fighting. As a Christian and as a human being I love my Muslim friends, and I pray that they accept Jesus as the son of god, and that there is no other god than the one true god.

“I *believe* that the Christian faith is *objectively* truth”.
That’s not how objectivity works. The word *objectively* means “in a way that is not influenced by personal feelings or opinions”, which, considering that your belief is your personal opinion, means that it, as well as the rest of religion everywhere can never be objective. This of course also means that your point on other religions being “false”, is also invalid, because in order for something to be objectively false, it must contradict something that is objectively true, which religion isn’t, as I’ve already explained. Other religions are false, in your *opinion*, and nothing more. Considering that the rest of this video is built upon the foundation of this illogical argument about other religions being supposedly objectively false, this whole contents of this video can be and should be considered irrelevant.

I’d more like to hear why we are wrong biblically than that we we appeal to mystery too much or that we do theology by passion. Yeah it may be frustrating with mystery but that doesn’t matter if what we are saying is correct. Cool video, though I'd like to offer some insight. Buddhism does not teach that indulging in worldly pleasures is 'bad'. It teaches the nature of attachment, like the defilements of the mind (a myriad of affects, desires, emotions) which are themselves attachments which bind people to suffering. The goal of Buddhism always seems to be deeper awareness. Awareness of reality, of suffering and our relation to suffering, our relation to others, our relation to the ineffable and the material. Even the desire for nirvana can lead to suffering (or as they call it, samsara). Even samsara is just a concept at a high enough vantage point. One thing that both Christianity and Buddhism share is the teaching of compassion. I suggest looking into what a bodhisattva is, as well as the bodhisattva vow. Of course, in Christianity you have Matthew 22:39.
