I am like you, never get excited about them. Two years ago walked into a shop to get my son a SIG M18 for Christmas, as he's an Army officer. And I saw the 19X on shelf and took a look at it. The grip angle, sights and trigger are what sold me. It's been my carry gun even since purchase. Never had a malfunction with any type of 9mm ammo.
There's just something about it I suppose. In my collection it is what I call my societal collapse/go to war gun. I shoot it well, it's obviously reliable and there is something magical about the slide/grip combination. If you could only have one gun, this ain't a bad choice.
Went to buy my first Glock. I was set on a gen 5 19. I walked out with the 19x. It just feels "right" in the hands. And it feels more balanced when shooting. Absolutely my favorite pistol of the 5 I own!
19X and G45 is very shootable. The short slide with full size g17 grip has less muzzle flip than the 17 and 19 if that makes sense allowing for very fast accurate follow ups and controllable bill drills. My only complaint with the 19X is front the lip mag well that limits you to gen 4 or earlier magazines.
I was never a Glock fan. Then one day I was reading a review about the 43XMOS . I decided to buy one and it turned out to be one of my favorite guns. Now I started becoming more interested in Glock pistols and started looking at the 19X. I told my FFL to order one for me . I’ve never considered Glocks to be aesthetically pleasing but I have to admit the 19X is one cool looking gun. It’s a fine shooter as well . 👍
The purple hue inside the slide is due to the PVD process, I believe. I've seen some M17's / M18's with it as well. For me, the 19x was the first gun I bought myself with my discount working at my gunshop a couple years ago. It was me revisiting Glock. I've had a Gen3 Vickers G17 and a G20 for a long time and mainly bought the latter because I love 10mm; I was never smitten with Glock but never hated 'em either. The 19x appealed to me because of the novelty of the color but also the MHS context. It made me fall in love with Glock. I think this model is one of the best utilitarian combat handguns ever made. And I say that as an HK fanatic (USP is still GOAT).
I like the 19X because it comes with extras out the box for only $575. Nice finish, night sights, maritime firing pin spring cups, extended mags, and mine has a great trigger out the box better than my Gen2 G19.
The 19X is a military trial gun and it’s a commander sized pistol (full grip, 4” barrel) and it’s a Glock, so that’s the allure. I have one and it’s been 100% reliable through like 1400-1500 rounds, but I don’t shoot it that much anymore
They look much better in person, imo. I'm wondering if that adds to their appeal? You know how it is: We see something new on YT, etc. that we are curious about, then we go to the lgs and handle one, it looks fantastic, so we buy it. 😅
Because its got a better trigger than most glocks. It shoots like a laser. It comes with steel night sights stock for 590.00 with 3 mags. It was the first to have the longer 17 grip and short slide making for a great feel and rapid transitions between targets. Plus its coyote color is cool . It was first one, the 45 is out now. Not as nicely equipped with the 19x good sights however.
Does anybody else find it usually that he didn't know what was so special about the 19X but he just so happened to have one in the safe. What made you buy one and not shoot it?
It's the color. I worked at Academy Sports earlier this year. We'd go through a 19X each week. Even non gun people knew what it was. It was along the same lines when I worked at a gun shop back in 2018. They just sell. It's no wonder Glock keeps making them.
I have the 19x which is my only double stack glock I own.what sold it to me is factory n/s and fde and its been said to be able to fire when wet with water due to a rubber seal inside of it.i havent tried this myself as I'm more of a revolver than a semi guy. I got this mostly for home defense and range fun.really don't want to use 357 magnum inside the house if I had to use something.i carry it when I feel I'm gonna need more than 6 rds in some public areas but as a gentleman in my late 40s hanging out for me is grocery errands or restaurants with the family.also I carry iwb on a dad body makes semiautos uncomfortable compared to smaller grips on revolvers with low rise iwb holsters.if shtf ever happens I'll be grabbing the 19x with my wheelie as a backup.but this is my reason for owning one.if I ever purchase another it would be the g45 for mag compatibility. The regular G19 grip i feel is too short for my large hands as my pinky rests on the mag baseplate and the lip on the g19x fits perfectly in my hand.would like to also hear other folks opinion if they own one.stay safe!
The 19x will shoot, cycle and continue to shoot under water because it has maritime spring cups inside the pin assembly, so water can flow through, allowing the pin to still move after if fills with water. Other Glocks will only fire once, cycle, but then are seized up because of water inside the housing stops the pin from being able to move due to no holes in the cups/pressure. This is what REALLY differentiates the 19x from other models and specifically the G45. Obviously, the cosmetic stuff and mag versatility as well, but functionally it is different in that way (real world military shit coming over a beach/out of water onto a ship, needs to shoot regardless). You can buy aftermarket spring cups and put them in a G45 for this functionality as well though, but I don't think Glock sells them directly, so not an OEM part. Perfect surfing gun to protect you from sharks, lol.

Its too bad that person couldn't just spit out why its the best Glock. Small Arms Solutions (is he the ZZ Top looking guy? Honest Outlaw also sort of does too. hehe) does have a good video on it, if you want a great full indepth review, but basically it comes down to quality of life and out of the box features that is about a few notches better especially for a factory standard Glock. It has a super durable nPVD finish inside and out of the pistol making it ideal for Navy SEALs that spend a significant amount of time in salt water. Might even be better than the latest G45 finish, but not sure. The lanyard hole is also a preference among military for retaining the pistol in certain situations. The G19x also comes with metal night sights out of the box unlike the G45. Small Arms Solutions mentions it has the best factory trigger for a Glock which is a huge selling point, in my opinion. Most aftermarket triggers for Glock pistols tend to cause too light of strikes which affects the reliability. Also it seems like people really love the way the gun balances in the hand with the G19 style slide and G17 style grip. Makes for easier tracking between multiple targets. Since I've heard the factory Glock mounting plates are pretty substandard. Anyway, hope this gives you some input on why it is as popular as it has been for the past few years. When in doubt its good to ask your own community questions. Have a good one!
The Glock 19X is my favorite Glock primarily because the trigger on it is the best Glock trigger I have ever experienced. I don't know why exactly since all Glock triggers should be the same, but the G19x trigger is so smooth, and seems better to me than the triggers on my two Glock 45s.

I find it hilarious that so many people seem to dig the 19x like it's the second coming of Glock.
Manufacturers use different colored plastic to convince people to buy essentially the same gun twice.

I would never recommend the 19x. Uses a mishmash of to many different parts. You need gen 3,4, and 5 parts to keep a 19x running. I’d recommend a g45 gen 5 over a 19x. I own I think 5 g45s prefer them to my 19s and 17s.
I wouldn't mind a 19X, but I will probably never own one. G19s are my favorite handguns though.
What parts are gen 3, 4 and 5 quit spreading misinformation. Every component in the 19x is gen 5. 19x is a gen 5 only reason it’s not labeled “gen 5” is because you ready ….. their is no older versions of a 19x only 1.🤙🏼👍
Whooo said it was trendy. Glocks are not reliable out of the box? 😅😅😅😅 prove it. I have not seen or heard of a Glock that didnt function well: right out of the box😅😅😅😅 ...show me!!!
Plastic guns just aren't sexy I'm sorry. Just my opinion.
What a waste of time
The Light skin twin!!!!!
Carrying anything “different has a benefit..
When Karen notices you print a little and calls in that you’re brandishing a big black scary gun ..
pull out peanut butter or a baby blue framed Glock ..
ask the to carry her away …
