You don't even need to go that far, Colorado is pretty close for you. I grew up riding the Washington Cascades, and ridden on 2 different volcanoes, Mt. Baker allot, and once into the crater of Mt St.Helens in 1989, on Phazer, before we had actual mountain sleds. I'd love to go play there on my Polaris Axys Rmk, but they don't let you ride some of that area anymore.
Hi Timmy and Aaron, great video, as I have said before, these are my favorite videos. I am strictly a Polaris guy. My very first snowmachine was a 1975 Polaris TX 500 with a 3 cylinder, triple carb, it was my racing machine, damn, I miss it. Aaron did a great job today. The snowmachine you are running is a sweet little machine. A newbie should learn to handle their machine before attempting what you do. Keep these videos rolling until the last minute.
Nice set up man! Love the camper build. My bud got an older powder sled, and it gets the job done. Compared to my Summit 154, it has half the power and speed, and loud af. But, I love how planted it is with the low cg. And if he upgrades, he'll have a great backup or loaner.
In the late 60's/early 70's, the challenge was to set the high-mark (forget trying to get on top) on that little hill on the right that you can see from the parking lot at 0:38. Now, sleds are getting on top of the large mountain, which was frankly...inconceivable back then. Lots of great memories though, riding up at Turnagain as a teenager.
"It's not the plant, it's the pilot." = "It's not the snowmobile it's the rider." Miss Turnigan and Petersville - never seem to have the time these days.
I have the same model year as that red monster but in black and yellow, it gets me everywhere the new machines go...plus I don't worry about dings and scratches🤙
You are such a lucky person 👍because Golly day do I miss snowmobiling. The last time I rode a sled was at least 15 or 20 years ago back when we were kids and our dad would take us all the time during the winter. We live on the western slope in Colorado so there are all kinds of fun places to go. However, I don't recall the scenery here in Colorado being as beautiful as this vast Alaskan wilderness 😍 Alaska is definitely on my bucket list of top places to visit in the world 🌎
For older sleds, with close to new chassis design, look for 2005-2011 arctic cat M series. These sleds are allot closer geometry to the new ones. Polaris, 2014 to current. Skidoo, is awkward till the g4 chassis in 2017. Newer Arctic Cat didn't get their mountain chassis working again until 2018, and even until 2024, it was just changes to the chassis that came out in 2012! Now Cat looks like it took its mountain rider engineers advice again, finally! It looks like the new Catalyst chassis, only in a 600 for my 2024, but all reports is its amazing, kinda like the M7 was in 2005. The 858 engine is coming, and supposed to be lighter, and the difference between chassis is much closer, than when the M7 dominated in 2005, but I'm betting the catalyst is gonna be special like the M series was.
So… where’s the punchline? Clearly I’m missing the joke somewhere, there’s absolutely now way on earth that machine was for sale for $1500.00 ?? If that’s the case, you absolutely robbed the poor guy that sold it. Lol. Nice machine for that price, and I’ve never been anywhere in my life that gets enough snow to even ride one and that’s still a great deal.
That German dude rolling his sled over himself was HILARIOUS...and that helmet?!? LMAO
He's out there every time, wait for the next video lol, he almost hits my camper
So true Tim. I've got a 1997 yamaha 800-4 vmax that still keep going and is a blast in powder. Great video and stay safe.
Erin F'ing rocked it. So glad you were there too. That wind at the top?! Crazy!
Thanks man from Walker Louisiana

Almost as if I were there just wishing I was
Timmy, a big hill in michigan is like 2-3 hundred feet. I've never ridden a snowmobile up a mountain! Some Alaska skillz!
