- New Adventure today. I took my 1987 Suzuki Samurai out in the snow. A friend of mine also has an 87 Samurai and we went into 20 inches of snow. My Samurai has been modified, Trail Tough leaf springs, Bonz Eye with Doetsch Tech 8000 shocks over axle lift. Suzuki Sidekick 16 valve, fuel injection engine. Drive lines have the extended yokes and long travel brake lines. Running 15x9 aluminum wheels with 31x10.5x15 Wildcat EXT tires. The front bumper is a combo brush guard, winch mount with optional tow bar made by Trail Tough. Winch is a Warn M8000, way over kill for this vehicle, but it works.
Modification parts by Trail Tough, trailtough.com/

Awesome Samurai ❤. Cool vid.
Thanks, i wish i had done more of these, thanks for watching
Yes, My raised 1988, saved me. On a non county forest road, a guy privately plowing, deliberately tried on multiple occasions to ram and or run me off the road. I took his picture in the act of , one Winter day. He did manage to force me off the road into deep snow. That Suzuki like a tank, plowed itself alongside and back onto the roadway, past the guy. I headed into town to report it to the police. I later took pictures of my snow track off the primitive roadway . My Suzuki was absolutely amazing... Good tires and add weight in the rear to balance it, engine front, weight in rear...
My Sammi went everywhere with no problems, thanks for watching

Hello, good route! greetings from the north of Spain. I am the happy owner of a 92 Samurai Mil. I have not made many changes to it because in my country it is more complicated, you have to homologate and that is if they accept you, between that and the laws, because I keep it almost original and it suits me as usual. silk. ;) You have it very well prepared, I really liked the video, it brings back good memories of my first 10 years with Sammy. :) You already have a new subscriber :)
Awesome, I had the luck that the premier sammy builder was only 2 hours down the road. Trail Tough. We don't have very many restriction on building our sammy's and it is build for trails and not rock climbing. Thanks for the sub and watching, have a great time.
The dog is having a blast !!
She loves the snow and running in creeks, thanks for watching.
I have a 93 suzuki jimny from Japan. 660cc engine 3 cylinder turbo. F6a to be exact. I love this thing and would never sell it.
There is a lot you can do to up grade these things, they are awesome, thanks for watching
Hi enjoyed the video had a sip of my drink every time you said snow can’t quite remember the end though Looks like fun We we’re COVID locked out of the snow this year
Yes it was a good year for snow(sip) Thanks for watching.
Not Nader, that was Corvair. It was a Consumer Report reporter with a grudge because suzuki refused to replace his car he flipped while driving recklessly.
Yes, they had to try some 80 or 90 times to get the sammi to actual flip over. Thanks for watching.
You mentioned new gearing, did you add a locker? if so, what did you go with?
No lockers, i went with 457 gear over the standard 383, they worked great at getting me up to speed on the highway and low gears for crawling. thanks for watching.
I have a 1987 Zuk also with the 16V, will like to know the name of the color on yours, it's looks great, specially with snow contrast in the back ground.
Corvette Blue, was painted this was when i bought it, thanks for watching
Hi, do you have problem to warm up cabin in winter condition? I heard its a problem when you have soft top..
No too bad just have to keep the heat on and the fan blowing.
Im from Washington also, where is that road your driving
Northern California, near the Oregon border. thanks for watching
@The RedHeaded Adventures thats why it didnt look familiar lol. Fun trip👍
Can you drive highway speed with the hubs locked ?
NO, not a good idea to have your hubs locked and drive fast.Slow speeds are ok short distance. thanks for watching
Suzuki samurai really original Is a jumping been for me the best is 1996 geo tracker 16 valves 4x4 with 15x10 30s tensors regulators tires and gas shocks nice smooth ride and strong with free flow exhaust system header and alluminum pulley and electric fan eat will eat the suzuki samurai plus a lots of the big boys and without lift crap that lift will take out the weight destribution out the tires really and believe me I have one build by me and junkyard old school style I even build my own flares to put a suzuki samurai to crow right take to much money and a lot of work and time and still be a jumping been by the en of the day and real bouncing ride
I like my sammi the way it is, not too lifted drives great for off road and trails, thanks for watching.
@@theredheadedadventures2289 that cool I love my Geo no lift at all old school style powerful by his small frame and I built him for all season jj with CCR song Born in the byouuuuuuu jj take care man
Nice, what state is it?
Northern California, near the Oregon border, it was fun. thanks for watching.
old man you should watch videos from Poland to learn how to use samurai properly. cheers
Old man? how old do you thin I am? LOL. This is a trail runner and a driver so I do not wish to go breaking parts bouncing off rocks, it gets me into places others cannot, deep snow and narrow trails, thanks for watching , cheers.
100likes I'll tell you the real reason why they tried outlawing them
Yeah the Consumer Report stated that this vehicle was unsafe at any speed, it was falsified documents and testing, Thanks for watching.
@@theredheadedadventures2289 that doesn't answer the question
@@John-p3v4l You said" I'll tell you the real reason why" so tell me
When will you guys go on another adventure
Hopefully soon, but i no longer live there and will be different. Thanks for watching.
@@theredheadedadventures2289 can't wait to see out on a new adventure !! Thanks !
@@jessebellis478 Can hardly wait for the next adventure.
By adding winch, does it add more weight or it's good for samurai??
The winch is the M8000 by Warn. It does add a little weight but not much. It is a great recovery rescue winch if you get stuck or have to move things out of the road. Thanks For Watching.
@@theredheadedadventures2289 If the M8000 is overkill, is there a model that you would recommend over yours for a samurai?
@@elliotlowndes5219 Most sammis weigh about 2200LBS , a 3500 to 8K would work just fine. Thanks for the Question and thanks for watching.
I have 2016 samurai
Imported? thanks for watching
@@theredheadedadventures2289 No I India it's Available till 2018 after that it shuts down it's production. It's call maruti gypsy in India
@@udiptadutta2742 the new ones look good.
Did u air down before the chains? Makes a world of difference
Yes, those tires came from a jeep so they are 6 ply and can air down to 3lbs, but keep them between 7 and 10 so i can drive home. Thanks for watching.
