Best of the Best changed my life as a kid in the 80s, I was 7 years old and my mom’s boyfriend wanted to go see a movie so I went, it was Best of the Best, from that moment I was hooked to the beauty of traditional Tae Kwon Do 🥋
So awesome. I just had the pleasure and honor of meeting both Simon and Philip Rhee two months ago ,along with Keith Cooke, Cynthia Rothrock, Billy Blanks, Taimak, Don The Dragon Wilson and Loren Avedon. Absolutely incredible. Philip and Simon are huge inspirations for me as I've trained in Hapkido for the last 28 years. My first trip to South Korea was about 4 years after seeing the first Best of The Best. Im so grateful and thankful for these amazing people and everything they've given us over there careers and lifetime's 🙏🏿🥋💯
@@BruceWillow ..Thank you...Not only is he very nice looking but this podcast showed a very charming and sweet side to him. The insight on what he went through while making Best of the Best.. telling us about the freezing cold waterfall and that they didn't want sex or gun violence in the movie..so insightful. He also seems to really care about the students he teaches. Just tells me that he's even more awesome than I thought. Again, Thank you.

I loved how in Best Of The Best 2
Him and Tommy became allies.
Yeah, me too!
Good interview with a great human being and awesome instructor. I have had the honor of training with Master Rhee many many years ago.

Thankful for RUclips for interviews like this. Nostalgia. He was hardcore in best of the best. I never knew him and Tommy (Phillip) were brothers.
