    Fantastic !!! I have same problem but managed to get sound from surround speakers in bi-amp mode and analogue inputs ! I believe it is the protection relays that are not getting tripped for front main L and R and centre speakers as I still have headfone output and this is fed from front speaker amp ! I will try to reflow DSP chip again and let you know !

    Have had my TX-NR616 in storage for a while after I moved to south Norway, got some new Klipsch speakers, and discovered there is no sound from the AVR. Hopefully, I can fix it using your method. If not I'm really considering picking up the Yamaha RX-V6A, as it seems like a great AV Receiver for the money.

    • @anatticinnorway2883
      @anatticinnorway2883  Год назад

      Does the remote work at all? It can be a lot of different things. It can be the IR LED on the remote or the can be the IR receiver which has some issues. It also can be the conducive layer on the rubber which presses down on the remote control.

      You won't believe what I did. The signal reached the ir receiver and also the processor, but no further. I heated the processor with a hairdryer to 190 degrees for a minute, reset the receiver and the remote works again

      @anatticinnorway2883  Год назад

      Thank you for your comment.
      In regards to your amplifier, I would check out the output transistors and the balancing resistance for your not working channels. Regarding your SUB-preamp there could be a bad connection or a non working transistor. But, I thought the amplifier would go in protect if bad or non working transistors.

    To what temperature do i need to heat it ?
    Could this work with a hairdryer...?

    • @anatticinnorway2883
      @anatticinnorway2883  Год назад +2

      Hello. As the DSP is a surface mount component, the soldering paste mormally used has a melting point from 180 to 220 degrees Celsius, so at least 180 degrees or up is neede to get heated. If a hair dryer has the heat and energy enough, I really does not know. But I have seen it done with a halogen lamp as heat source.

    • @Fancy_PotHead
      @Fancy_PotHead Год назад

      @@anatticinnorway2883 Hello! Unfortunely, no luck with the hair dryer. Although it did "click" like @ 12:45 but still no sound.
      Do you know what that could mean ? Should i bother to buy a heat gun and something like soldering flux and a heat sink ?

      I got it to work with a heat gun and soldering flux. I put a lot of soldering flux and heat at ~200° Celsius for 20 minutes. Let it cool completely.

    • @anatticinnorway2883
      @anatticinnorway2883  Год назад +1

      As I understand if ever there are issues with the pre- or poweramplifier, then the receiver goes directly in to protect mode if attempted to switch on. So as I can see it there are eiter the HDMI card has an issue or one or both the relays has issues. If I should guess, I would guess this DSP is totally blown and need replacements.

    I got the tx-nr616, and last month the bass stopped working(no signal from the reciver), then last week the back speakers stopped working. lol. Im sad. but front and center gives sound but verry low. anyone got an idea if its the DTS chip or something else? If its a quick fix or not.

    • @anatticinnorway2883
      @anatticinnorway2883  Год назад +1

      Sorry late reply.
      This was kinda delicate problem. As I have learned these receivers, if any problem for the amplifiers, it will not even start. But I wonder as you ask if it can be this DTS-chip. These network models has a heat issue for the DTS-chip, but I thought it would not start or even go to protect if not in good shape. I would also check the connection between preamp and power amp, in addition check the bias resistor and the power transistors for the power amp.
      Good luck in your problem solving.

      @@anatticinnorway2883 So I found out that reseting the reciver to fabrication settings gave back the bass, so that works now, but not the backspeakers, they work with all channel stereo. So I guess its time to throw the reciever in the garbage or sell it :P
