True. But many battle the delusion of who they met and who they are currently with once the mask falls off. That what makes it all confusing an abuser isn’t abusive everyday but as the years progress it get worse. It’s like a trap 🪤 and on a hamster wheel. It’s people who you never think 💭 would be in abusive marriage. It’s normally women or man who are brilliant, intelligent, beautiful, caring, empathetic people, career driven, educated, respected in society. An abuser will prey one people who got what they wish they had and they make it their duty to break you down to the bottom 😢because you’re not supposed to be better than them. Narcissist abuse, abuse, domestic violence all the cycles are similar

I am 24yrs and I was in a relationship for 4 yrs, it was emotionally abusive, I used to talk to him about it, said he will change, two or three and it's done. I was able to walk out last year and it's the most peaceful and comfortable thing I have now, it wasn't easy but I did. Don't talk about my age

She just spoke to me...i was in a relationship i ended ...Antonina's story reasonates..i was there for 7yrs, he never wanted me to meet his people, never wanted to meet my parents...when i decided to walk is one day i was sick...he asked me..wewe na hizi ugonjwa zako ata mimba unaweza beba😮😮😮...let me tell you that hurt me soo bad and i do have a child from a previous relationship....i just deleted his number and went silent on him..hivo ndio iliisha..we also were nmot seeing each other frequently..last year tulikaa 7months bila kuonana and we are in the same city..he used to come stay at my place,,i cook food he carries to his place where his sisters stayed with him,he would never say he picked the food from my place..like he was embarrassed of me ..which really hurt me...like i wenmt through emotional turmoil to a point i used to take anxiety pills...i recently met someone,,we have been doing online dating...Lyn this guy even pays my child school fee.and its not about money nooo. His intentions are so straight forward....and its not like im not working...he .does it willingly..he is coming in July, everything is planned he'll meet my parents..im happy..ladies dont settle..i also wanted tall dark 😂😂😂i found a short guys liightskin

It's very true..if a man loves you he won't keep you waiting! I was with my ex for over 5 years hoping to get married..then I realised it wasn't going to happen as he was always having excuses. @lynnngugi thank you for showing us that any kind of intimate partner abuse can happen to anyone. A lawyer, doctor, teachers and even therapist. People who are abused are usually healthy emotionally and strong,socially connected, genuine and real and with empathy. Abuse happens subtly, and before you realise it, its 2 years in it 4,7,10 or more. Then you are trauma bonded to the abuser . I like this kind of show as we are learning from real survivors and what to do once we encounter such kind of abuse. We need to celebrate survivors because coming out of a trauma bonded abusive relationship is the hardest thing to do. As survivors really come out exhausted, sick, loss of self esteem, loss of confidence, loss of jobs, finances etc and it takes a lot of hard work to bring their true self back again. Well done Lynn. And I salute all survivors of domestic violence.
I'm a survivor still trying to heal from the emotional abuse of 4yrs. I don't even know why it took me so long yet I cried almost every night😢😢

Emotional abuse, I was body shamed and told no man can love me,, my self esteem went to zero, then he would tell me how i hate myself, that is after giving birth for him. Weuh, he cheated and finally left me for another woman whom he felt is good enough for him. Them he blamed me for the break up, made the woman insult me, but all is not lost, God is on the throne still.
Thank you again Lynn and team. Knowing who you are and what you want is key to being ready to enter into a serious relationship.
