Diabetes and hypertension are related to amyloid-beta burden in the population-based Rotterdam Study

In a large cohort of dementia-free participants, Arendonk et al. show that diabetes is associated with increased risk of amyloid-positive status and higher amyloid-beta burden 7 years later, independent of genetic dementia risk, while hypertension is associated with subsequent amyloid-beta pathology in APOE4 carriers only.
