Like your work and helper. My wife helps me too when I'm in the shop. Shes probably spending me up to give me a honey do list. I need to build one of these, my body has gotten well used over the years.
Thank you. You are the only video I found that demonstrates how to place the ground sleeve in such a way that it remains plumb during the concrete placement. Well done.
sem·per fi my friend, great helper, and love to see the red white and blue flying, Great job, an think you mean plum when checking the base tube, lol 👍👍👍👍
Looks Great! Nice work. I love that you said "when you dig a hole...take pride in your hole". I feel like part of the problem with the world today is that there are a lot of people out there digging holes...but not many who dig them and take pride in them.
Looks fantastic and always feels good to fly the flag! You all did a great job and that’s coming from a 16 year old boy, great video! Thank you for your service🇺🇸
“When you dig a hole, take pride in your hole!” That could be a motivational poster and needs to be hanging in many households today. Thanks for recording your hard work and sharing the pride we all felt once you’re flags were raised and sailing. Stay safe, and Semper Fi!!!
Looks great but a lot of work. I have found that using Quickrete Fast-Setting Concrete Mix is much faster and simpler. You pour it in the hole like sand and hose it down. It dries in about 4 hours but, for me, it has always been solid much quicker. Still needs to set a day to dry thoroughly. But, It sure beats needing a mixer and wheelbarrow. I have used it on my privacy fence posts and my flagpole. I had my flagpole up for 7 years and is was doing fine until the pole snapped in a wind right before this Covid mess started. I finally got my new pole in today and will be putting it up this weekend although I may be moving it to another location as we have a tree (that the light company planted in the front yard to replace one they had to take down) that has died. We thought the flagpole would be better there than where I had it out by the mailbox. It will be easier to light now closer to the house. Gonna try solar first but will wire one if necessary.
Another patriotic video. I love it! And yeah, it's probably a good idea to make sure the flagpole is anchored down to the ground completely with concrete.
Good job. After the original video, I figured you be back out using concrete in the spring. I have the 30’ internal halyard version of this pole. I did a 50”x26” concrete foundation. I didn’t want the foundation to be the weak link.
I almost fell out of my chair laughing when he said “you put it in and I’ll ram it”,cause if I said that to my wife she would have thrown the shovel at me and went in the house 😂😂😂
Oh no. I put my flagpole up earlier this summer… I live in the Adirondack mountains, it hasn’t seen a winter yet, but what you said about it leaning makes me nervous, hopefully I did a professional enough job!
Excellent video and great step by step instruction. Where did you buy that pole? I have gone through 5 flagpoles in two years as they break or bend with the heavy winds. Looking for a solid 25ft pole for my flags. Any ideas will be appreciated. God Bless
A great video! I got my pole in the ground, now I have to take it out of the sleeve for repair Can you describe exactly how to do that? I can’t find any video showing how to remove the pole. The sand seems to have it locked in pretty tight. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you in advance. Jimmy
Gonna be honest. You’re a Saint for working on a project with the Wife. I love mine to the Moon and back but, I can’t stand working on projects with my Old Lady. Always ends up getting in the way, wanting to have conversations, asking if I’m doing it right! Every time I hand that woman a tool she either breaks something or hurts herself. It always end with “get in the house” but I sure love her, even though her brain be sigogglin.. Lol.
What do you mean soil like other people? You bought a farm of course there was going to be rocks! :P Edit: Now Mom knows what it was like putting all the concrete in with you around the foundation of the last house!

The honey do list should be fairly short now that there is a new kitchen. Thanks for the comment.
Thank you. You are the only video I found that demonstrates how to place the ground sleeve in such a way that it remains plumb during the concrete placement. Well done.
Thanks, the new foundation is functioning as it should.

I just wanted to make sure I had a uniform mix in the whole hole. Thanks fr the tip
Very instructional. Thank you! Installing my 30' pole this week. Semper Fi!
What size flag did you use for your 30’ pole? Tyvm!
@@NateAlex10 5' x 8' It seems so large but does not look as big when mounted. I need to order a replacement as this one is just beginning to fray.
Looks great. Love seeing her fly as well!
As do I. Thanks.

It is ram rod straight now, very happy, Thanks.
Great job! The beauty is nice flying
Thank You for your service!
What size & brand flag did you use for your 25’ pole? Tyvm!

It was supposed to be temporary. It was in service longer than I thought.
I almost fell out of my chair laughing when he said “you put it in and I’ll ram it”,cause if I said that to my wife she would have thrown the shovel at me and went in the house 😂😂😂
It has work for us for 43 years.
Great video! I'm 71 and had a shoulder replacement. Hoping my sons will dig the hole and give me a hand with mine.
Dang Fine lookin pole! Semper-Fi !!
Yes Sir, Thanks
Looks good man!! I just took on that project and did my flagpole. Lotsa work, but very satisfying result.
Love it thank you so much, looks beautiful,🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Great job and God bless Amerika🇺🇸🙏🏻🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed it
Loved your video, Great job !!
Thanks for the comment, we had a good time putting up the pole.
Great helper, you have there!
The best!

And to you as well.

Jimmy
Take our garden hose and flood the sand with water, and the pole will come out.
How'd I know I was gonna see a Marine Corp flag at the end? lol
My bald hair cut?
pro trick: watch movies on flixzone. I've been using it for watching lots of of movies recently.
@Lance Wilder yup, I've been using Flixzone for since december myself :D

What flag pole is that and where did you get it? Thank you
It was purchased through "The Flag Pole Company". I was not particularly happy with them. Had to press them to send all the parts.
That is beautifully
What did you use for the pipe or base to put the pole inside of?
The sleeve that the pole goes into came with the pole.
Great video. What diameter pole did you use. I may have missed it in the video. I am debating between 3" and 4".
Where did you find the pole?
What size flag is this ?
I got a question, were you in the Marines? Since you have the Marine flag.
Paris Island, Beaufort Air Station, 250 mile north of the arctic circle in Norway
@@ThrottleStopRacing I salute you.
Is that a Honda 185 ATC in the background
It is a Big Red Honda ATC
Grumpy old man. LOL
That is me.
Very good video. What did you use to seal the collar?
Silicone between the base and pole

Thank You.
i always take my pole down in the winter.
I have been flying the flag year round with no ill effects. Thanks for the comment.
Nice job, but the average slub doesn’t have tractors, cement mixers, and all the great tools that you have.
Semper Fi.
What do you mean soil like other people? You bought a farm of course there was going to be rocks! :P
Edit: Now Mom knows what it was like putting all the concrete in with you around the foundation of the last house!
I know someone that said they wanted some rocks for his corner. Take a couple each time you visit. I will even wash them off for you.
@@ThrottleStopRacing sounds like a plan
Makes me want to help them

Putting in a 25’ flag pole next week in hard clay soil in Southern California. Not looking forward to digging that hole. ☝️😬⛏🧨💣
Same here gotta love digging through Clay it’s not fun having having your home built on a Riverbed
We all think we have it the worst, until we try the other persons soil. Me I have stone 3 to 6 inches that have to be dug out. Good luck.
Nice work however your rudeness when speaking to your wife overshadowed your installation video. Once in a while a "please" might work!
Be glad you don't live in NH ...... nothing but rock & ledge ...... with a little bit of dirt mixed in. Ugh .......
I feel your pain.
snappy old geezer !
Yes sir.
Marine - not really a surprise 🫡
