@@NitroDS Not true. In 2019 they removed the EU law requiring daylight savings. (Think federal law in the US). It's now been handed over to the nation states (think US states) to decide how they want to handle it, what timezone they want to stay in, etc etc. As with all governments any big changes like this take time and assessment reports. But to add to that brexit, covid, ukraine etc. it's not been a political priority to deal with.

How will it exactly benefit us? The EU has done absolutely nothing to benefit me as an iPhone user. All they’re doing is trying to expand their budget, and so they’re chasing after the worlds richest company to do it. Literally legal bullying.
i do iOS app development on the side, mostly for fun so no i don't have much of a say when it comes to making money on the app store, but i have never cared for the idea of letting app makers to let users circumvent payment methods bc at best, it's pointless. Developers(particularly the large companies behind apps) are looking for a way to circumvent the licensing fee for hosting apps on the App Store, but Apple will come up with another way to charge this fee to developers. Bc the fee really isn't about hosting apps, it's about licensing software created by Apple that developers ARE using. Apples SDK provides 100s frameworks/libraries(API) that devs make use of when making apps, and these aren't small code bases either. Other companies like Microsoft or Google have a different business models but they definitely recoup the cost developing their API, it's just less apparent. in fact i'd argue that Apple's business model is better for smaller devs. i mean, its still large companies on the other end of the lobbying against Apple interests. another smaller point, Apple provides a way for you to see AND cancel all the various subscriptions you're making in one spot on your phone., circumventing apples payment method may make it harder for Apple to track/show you which active subscriptions you currently have with various apps.... tried to keep my explanations brief so idk if they made much sense but honestly i think a lot of these governments have way more important issues to focus on like climate change, human trafficking, violent crime, education, potential wars/conflicts, healthcare(if in the US).
