Gaelic or Scots can replace "Tribal Unity" with their regional "Strong Kinship" tradition. Depending on your realm size, you can gain thousands of renown and prestige each time you abdicate.

I am from Ireland if you see the letters Ú, Ó, Í, É, Á it just means you prolong the letter for anyone that is actually curious about it. Á would be "Aw" in phenetics. Í would be "ee", Ú would be "oo", É would be "ay", Ó would be "oh". Just a bit educational like I said if anyone is wondering you literally just prolong it. It gets really complicated depending which letter it is beside though we have slender and broad Vowels for instance the letter "D" if it is beside the letters O, U, A it is pronounced like it is in English but if it is beside the letters I, E it is pronounced like a "j" for example the Irish word Dia which means god would be "Jia" a lot of letters are like this and change depending what letters they are beside. It also complicates it as well because depending on the accent down south they ignore this rule on certain letters for instance down south they will pronounce the letter "D" as English no matter what is beside. It is like "mh" if you see this beside an I, E it is pronounced like a V and beside a broad vowel O,U,A is is like a W but if it is in the middle of the word and not at the start it is completely silenced and you don't pronounce it at all. It might actually help people understand why Irish people can't pronounce "TH" like Three, in Irish this is pronounced like just a "H" so it actually comes from our native tongue which is very rarely spoken in Ireland these days for example the Irish word Thug which means "gave" is just pronounced "Hug". A bit of topic from the video but I hope I helped someone who was curious. EDIT: also this is the song he was referencing ruclips.net/video/doegoa3spKo/видео.html&ab_channel=DavidD, My favourite Irish song is ruclips.net/video/IJ4Slgfkv8E/видео.html&ab_channel=Dizzo1916 :)))) also this one is good too ruclips.net/video/xeK2PWqyGLQ/видео.html&ab_channel=JoMama EDIT 2 : Also I should also mention in Irish/Gaeilge religion is a big factor in it for instances we have no word for "Hello" in Irish it is actually "Dia Dhuit" which if you read the before text it means literally "God to you" which was the way to say "god be with you " that is how we say hello :). Things are actually described exactly how they are in Irish for example to say "my name is Jordan" in Irish it is "Jordan is ainm dom" but it actually means word for word "Jordan is the name on me" which is actually kind of amusing so when the English first came over to Ireland Irish people who couldn't understand them because they were speaking English said they were speaking "Béarla" which is hard to translate but it means sort of like "Lip sing/ mouth sing" it was basically used as an insult to say they were speaking gibberish and it stuck and we still use it today for the word for the English language. Also I also wanted to say since the three links I posted are sort of glorifying war I just wanted to post this which is a non-biased view of the troubles that happened in Northern Ireland that lasted for 30 years it is a song about peace. :) ruclips.net/video/QP6wxBoSMWc/видео.html&start_radio=1&ab_channel=MajorSamm

Can't stress enough how happy I am to see a new video from you. You are literally one of four channels for which I have notifications on. You made my Tuesday evening
Nice exploit. I haven't thought about that. Some tips I use for making more money: 1) From the very begining of a game, if you play as a vassal of a liege, you can go to your contract and enable "Council Rights = Guaranteed" (good) for "Succession Rights = Forced Partition" (bad but it's the default succession type for a long period of the game so it doesn't matter). Then you can force yourself in any council position you like ...for the rest of the game. And for as long as you like. (Right click your liege protrait and at the very bottom of his menu will say "3 more". One of them is the "demand council position") For example you can be your king's steward for a long period of time and if you learn that someone wants to murder you, you exit that position and you become spymaster for as long or little time as you need so the scheme will fail, then exit the spymaster position and you become steward again. And any time you want to be something else you can. Any time... (that's not mine. I saw it on youtube somewhere) 2) When I know I have the score to win a war, and I capture some really important persons, I always ransom them before I end the war. Because when I end the war they will usually go free. For example, When I fight an independent count, with only one county and after Ifinish the siege of his holding, I capture him or members of his family, I first ransom them for 50 gold and when he pays me for every single one of them and they go free, because he has no more free land, the war score will be again 100%. 3) If you have a prisoner that can be ransomed, that is not a title holder, then usually you will take only 10 gold from his liege (except from some special prisoners). But if you have "Golden Obligations" perk you can ransom them for a favor and then ask their liege to pay you 50 gold (if he is a count or above. If he is a baron or a major it's just 15) 4) Every prisoner that has no liege, no title and can be ransomed will usually be ransomed for 10 gold. Unless he holds more than 100 gold. Then he will ransomed for 100. So for every prisoner that has already more than 50 gold, you can send him a gift and that will put him over the 100 threshold. So you gain 50 gold instead of 10. In some situations (if a prisoner is greedy for example) his gift will be more than 50 gold. So every time you see someone holding less than 50 gold but more than 25 you can check what he want's as a gift and if the two amounts add up for 100 or more gold, you send him the gift and then you ransom him. This is useful when you imprison a baron or a major that is/will be (I'll explain soon) a direct vassal of yours. Usually major and barons have more than 100 gold but can be ransomed for only 30. But you can revoke their title without penalty and so they become untitled prisoners with over 100 gold. Easy money. So, if you have begun a war to revoke a title from a vasal of yours and you cupture some of his majors/ barons, instead of ransom them immediately for 30 gold, you can wait till the war is over, revoke your vassal's title, so they become your barons/majors, revoke their title too and ransom them for 100 gold. Also if you Holy War someone and you capture any title holders of the area you are fighting for, instead of ransom them for 50 gold (for a count) or 30 gold (for a baron/major) you can wait till you win the war and they become unlanded automatically. Then you can ransom them for 100 (if they already have 100 gold or more that is). The downside for waiting to ransome someone is that he may escape. 5) If you capture a prisoner that's not a title holder and he has significantly more than 100 gold (1000 for example), then you can negotiate with him to give you a weak hook (optional) and to recruit him. If he accepts, he becomes your guest. Then you can imprison him again (gaining some tyrrany) and since he is your guest and has no titles, the "Banish" option is available. When you banish a person with no titles, any gold he has goes to you. 6) I mostly play as duke of Athens of Byzantium. So I don't know if this is some type of bug or what but... If you have priests in your counsil, that are not up to you to change, then with the passing of time (like 40 years) they will gain some crazy amount of money (It doesn't matter if a priest dies. The amount he had goes to the next priest, so it adds up). I am talking about 10000 to 20000 gold. If you manage to imprison them (not that hard) then the "Bannish" option is availabe and they have become unlanded. And what did we say about unlanded prisoners that you can bannish? 7) Unrelated with gold but it's a prestige exploit that I thought literally today: If you can create a lot of Duchies and you can find a peson of an "evil" faith, then you can land him a county (just one), imprison him (optional) and then give him all the duchy titles you will create. After a year (when you can revoke his tiltes) you go and you revoke his only county (with no tyrrany penalty because he is "evil"). Because he has no more counties, he can't hold duchy titles and so all his Duchy titles go bye bye. They don't come to you. They are litterally destroyed. So, then, you give him his county back (if you have imprisoned him, you negotiate to at least recruit him again and -why not- with a weak hook and then you give him the county), you imprison him for your security and you create again the duchies. Then you give them back to him. You can do that once every year for as long as you have the money to create duchies. Even if you don't imprison him, he will be usually more than happy to give you his one county, because of all the other titles you gave him. Beware, the second time you will revoke his title will become your rival. A rival with 100+ relationship with you... (He must be really confused)

Buy duchy claims or a kingdom claim if not already a king with piety from sanctioned loopholes, and/or strategic marriages. The hard part would be growing as the most pathetic without being vassal. Maybe marry yourself to the heir of a duke or king using a hook, then murder until your wife/husband inherits the title, so your heir will be a duke or king when your character dies, or secure alliances so you can conquer independent counts if there are any around.
i created Britannia from starting from Thormond within 40 years and reformed my religon, just had to create a custom 16year old ruler with achievements still on and made him a norse astru. didnt bother with feudlism because i love my raiding to much. my game aim is to make it to the otherside of the map, got to cyprus so far by occupying majorca, sardinia and crete to get there, just got to find away past the asabid empire now, its 935 and i have 20k troops to help me get there, once there ill build quickly ,then grant independence to my empire for mad renown boost.

That's funny. Canadian accents seem most influenced by Irish slang and pronunciation. At least the Newfie accent is. They even pronounce their TH as "Teh" like the Irish.
This seems a bit tedious. My new favorite method to get rich is to find my wealthy courtiers, banish them and seize all their assets. When you banish them you claim ALL of their wealth and some characters literally have THOUSANDS of gold.

ahh, using the infinite renown exploit, except for extort subjects. Should probably do both at the same time for greater efficiency.
@@OttawaWelshman could use the loop trick with executioner, to go from 0 to 100 control real fast, too.
Lots of good tips in the video.
I still believe that Ottawa has a secret lover called John IRL.
gotta love that -20,000 prestige
Is -20k prestige part of the xploit?
Conquer all of India in 2 generations as the smallest dude you can find, vassal or not, and you can't swear fileality in any way, good luck.
india is big dude :D how to capture all of india in 2 generations?
Buy duchy claims or a kingdom claim if not already a king with piety from sanctioned loopholes, and/or strategic marriages. The hard part would be growing as the most pathetic without being vassal. Maybe marry yourself to the heir of a duke or king using a hook, then murder until your wife/husband inherits the title, so your heir will be a duke or king when your character dies, or secure alliances so you can conquer independent counts if there are any around.
The name Dúnchad in the time, would likely be pronounced “doon-chad”, with the ch being that back-of-the-throat noise.
i created Britannia from starting from Thormond within 40 years and reformed my religon, just had to create a custom 16year old ruler with achievements still on and made him a norse astru. didnt bother with feudlism because i love my raiding to much. my game aim is to make it to the otherside of the map, got to cyprus so far by occupying majorca, sardinia and crete to get there, just got to find away past the asabid empire now, its 935 and i have 20k troops to help me get there, once there ill build quickly ,then grant independence to my empire for mad renown boost.
Love your edits man make the experience so much better 😂
this channel is way too good. def needs more subs and views.
Nice reference to "Come out ye black and tans!"
What about a guide to religion and cultural Perks (new Faith new Culture/HybridCulture)? Or Maybe Culture Research?
Great vid btw
You did ! Insane, easter egg :v
It's insane how you switch succession so easily lol, it's the most difficult thing in the game to do correctly x)
I mean these keep getting better i dont know why you dont have 100k already
@@OttawaWelshman thanks alot i will be there at 100k subs or maybe 1m i mean these are awesome and so well planned
First video I saw from you truly amazing content can’t wait till your at 1mil subs
Very impressed with your Irish geography. If I didn’t know better I would say you had Google open in another tab.
@@OttawaWelshman Haha well done mate that's honestly class. And you were practically bang on with Killashandra. Appreciate the reference as well lol. Keep it up mate loving the content your doing brilliantly.
Let's gooooooo, love you man 💯
So much work for that Gold. I couldnt be bothered to actually use that exploit.
To get those 12000k gold u have to do that shit like a 100 times or so.
but you are getting richer than Richie Rich in the process.
@@OttawaWelshman Did you have to go feudal early so that Extort Subjects would give the larger gold amounts?
Discord joke was cheesy, but valid
hey heres a discord sound! did you think that was totally hilarious? gimme a sub if you did!
Yup
I’d just like to say I appreciate the subtle references to Irish music
Cheers for the video mate! ♥️
I'm such a huge noob at this game that I am using all of these crazy videos to teach me how to play.

I’m very curious as to what a handful of mercenaries look like, especially as a dwarf king, my only assumption is you’re getting the next generation on your little dwarf hands 😂😂 it’s at 22:30 so I do actually think you’re no longer a dwarfy boy but still how many mercenaries till your hand is full 😂
Dúnchad is ghoon-hid
As a person whose family has fought for Irish freedom & unification since the 1700s, I have to give this video a like.
The only battles that happend in 1700s were 2 the battle of Carrickfergus seized by the French for 5 days and the other was in 1795 in the diamond stop lying lil bro 💀
@@kyrado7156 I said SINCE THE 1700's & there are many ways of rebelling against English rule, not just by force of arms. Think lil bro, think before it becomes illegal & learn to read & comprehend while you are at it. 👨🎓📖

Has anyone had very good success with Irish development? I'm playing for a while on the1066 start as a catholic ruler. We're well off now but I find myself dealing with slow development/low control. Any suggestions?
for the low control you should try the martial life skill tree
@@fish5671 yeah i keep neglecting that. Thx!
I started in the 800 section and now I’m at 1400 and I’m doing really well. Almost 200 gold a month and 30k troops and I literally just hold Ireland. This is my first time ever playing so I was a little slow progressing but now I’ve figured it out. Gonna start a new religion soon and take Britannia. Although I’m having trouble getting the piety I do the pilgrimages and whatever I can to increase piety but I always die before I can get enough
I went for the early start (Vikings were hell) and pretty easily had 100 dev by the end by constantly developing Dublin
That's funny. Canadian accents seem most influenced by Irish slang and pronunciation.
At least the Newfie accent is. They even pronounce their TH as "Teh" like the Irish.
This channel is going to be huge.
As always great video keep up the good work look forward to your next video please dont make us wait to long
This seems a bit tedious. My new favorite method to get rich is to find my wealthy courtiers, banish them and seize all their assets. When you banish them you claim ALL of their wealth and some characters literally have THOUSANDS of gold.
Hehe you would like my shorts channel in that case! ;) Check out the video on banishment (coming out tomorrow)

Eyyyyyy
How did you get so much piety that quick? I went through 2 lifetimes set on theology and educated them for learning and I do pilgrimages and whatever I can to increase it and I always die before I have enough.
Execute rival faiths
Why is Ireland always so OP at player's hands

Operation Lucky Charms is a-go
Connacth is said like Conn-octh. Like octagon minus the agon. And Meath is said like Meadth. So the Th have more of a d sound. I believe Dunchad is also pronounced Dun-cad. The H isn't fully pronounced but it's difficult to explain via YT text.
No one in Ireland says it like mead 😂😂😂😂 I’ve always said Connaught with a t at the end and I’m from Connaught county Mayo

1:30 3 sheep per capita would mean that you have 3 sheep for every 100,000 people. What you mean to say is 300,000 sheep per capita
@@OttawaWelshman No, you're right. For example if a nation has a GDP of 30000 per capita, that means 30000 per person.
300,000 sheep per capita would be quite a lot of sheep, and some very effective shepards
That’s not what per capita means, it is 3 sheep for 1 human
Oh, you mean Tutorial Island?

If you like crime/organised shows there's a tv series called "Underbelly" & "Underbelly: Golden Mile" and of course the great movie "Chopper". There's like 5 different underbelly series but those two are the best imo. You'll get some good slang out of them ☺️
HE DIDNT MAKE THE EMPIRE, I’m physically weak with anger right now
Dúnchad is said as Doonhad
sorry to bring this back alive but I try to do what you do. after taking wales as I move through Ireland I am not able to form duchy as it is ?equal to the petty king of wessex" nor do i get independence if I take a duchy... can someone help this old soul..
I just now noticed that the console version doesnt have the county of Mayo? Is it from a mod that splits mayo and connacht? Or was it an update that the console hasnt gotten
I'm like 98% sure that's base game on PC unless they updated it somehow! I rarely if ever use Mods
@@OttawaWelshman hmm very weird
Can you use the exploit on baronies?
If you just keep revoking one barons title after taking his/hers money it would be a bit smoother.
