with the “Elevate the Kingdom of Mann & the Isles” decision you get building construction time -200% and building construction cost -50% for 100 years so you can generate a good cash flow. Also you gain an extra army of 7500 men the can boost your army to stop any invaders. Sorry if I’ve posted this a few times it keeps disappearing on my end but thought it would be good for you to know
If you play your cards right you can even end up as the culture leader of the Norse without having to conquer Scandinavia since there’s no event for Mann and the Isles specifically to reform its culture as long as you aren’t the culture head to begin with.
Some fairly simple things you can do to greatly cut down on the time it takes to reach Legendary: 1. After acquiring new lands for your family members, wait 5-10 years before granting independence. This is so they have time to raise control, buy some retinue and convert provinces. This way they don't immediately lose their title afterwards to a rebellion or invasion. 2. Ask the pope for claims as often as you can. Press those claims and give the titles to family members. 3. Use the "invite claimants" decision. Press their claims, (kingdoms if you are an empire tier, otherwise duchies). Then immediately revoke their new title and give it to a family member instead. 4. Keep a few individual coastal provinces for yourself here and there so you can extend your diplomatic range. 5. Hold or give to family provinces with special buildings or special building slots that can boost your renown growth. These can be holy sites, universities, Rome, Byzantium, Jerusalem, etc. (some are religion-locked though) 6. Work toward the decisions "Consecrate Bloodline" (+500 renown) and "Dynasty of Many Crowns" (+1000) If you are playing in the British Isles try to go for "Elevate the Kingdom of Man and the Isles" (+2500!) 7. With every character try to reach the "Writing History" perk from the Diplomacy lifestyles asap. Take the "Commission Epic" decision as often as you can and take the max renown option.
@@OttawaWelshman No problem, most of these have probably already been mentioned in other comments so i can't take credit for everything, i just wanted to give a neat little summary. Also, I'd add: Early on, found a religion tailored to your intended play style. (This applies to almost any game.) In this case, maybe go mad on intrigue and sex. (Concubines, no penalty for adultery, no bastards, possibly make lustful a virtue.) Use the 'find character' window. Find rulers within diplomatic range, sort by rank, then start at the top and work your way downward looking for places you can set your matrilineal marriage landmines. (This isn't a new strategy, just a more efficient way to achieve the strategy shown in the video.) Old monarchs are great - often you can trace their line of inheritance to a grandchild or great-grandchild who has no titles, and parents have no titles, and so are an easy target for a matrilineal marriage cuckoo's egg. It does take quite a while for the egg to hatch, however. Also, be prepared to have lots of allies (because of marriages to heirs) who keep demanding you fight wars for them.

So, actually with the Royal Court expansion, it is quite useful to have tons of vassals, because occasionally they come to your court room to pay respect to you in an event that grants 50/75 renown (I think it's based on their title). This is an alternative to the passive renown from independent rulers and you get the levies/taxes etc...I think I got to legendary family house (starting obscure) at a similar time compared to yours, by just having tons of vassals and increasing my max vassals limit through court artefacts and skills. I guess this can be further abused if you die/change character as often as possible, because they do it all over again with the new ruler.
2:21 they don't have to be independent to get renown, it's just that if their liege is from the same dynasty as them they won't be getting the renown for their title. per example, your character is a vassal of the HRE (AKA not independent) and you still get 0.50 renown from him you could have 10 dukes in some foreign kingdom/empire and you would be getting +5 renown per month from them, but if one of your dynasty members becomes the king/emperor that renown gain would be replaced by +1 or +2 renown, respectively 3:10 another thing you could've done was just give him a council position, he was a powerful vassal without one and that makes him have -40 opinion of you, but if you gave him a council position it would be replaced by a +10, making him have +7 opinion of you and approve the new succession law
This is very educational, and your voice is quite fitting! Liked your content, like that style of low distraction speech Certainly a subscription here, ty, keep it up

You said that you got offered the stewardship position by your liege, so i just wanted to mention that if you change the contract upon starting the gane, and get guaranteed council rights, you can right click on your liege and demand whatever council position you want. Might save you a few restarts since you wont depend on rng. Cheers
Didn't read the comments and I don't know if it already had been mention: with some cultures (English, Czech,...) you can get extra renown for castles your family member have. Also the English culture gives a bit extra for chivalry. It should easily be possible to get 40 renown per month.
Usually you might start lower, with a single house member and zero fame, maybe even tribal. The very best is to pick diplomacy and invest 6 perks into writing history, no need the rest. With a genius ruler of any education it's still 30ish learning per month. Befriend also godlike, friends can give you skills that are hard to get otherwise. The commissioning the epic decision gives 75-150 maybe a bit more renown, each 10 years. That will be enough for the first level, but maybe you need like 8-10 times to do it for the second. The house perks actually should start with the glory tree, 30 marriage acceptance goes a long way. And the marriages should not go for relevance but Alliance power while not at war (or at war but has a decent chance to win). Fecund also not really affecting much, number of kids is fixed, per rank, fertility is more of a speed thing. Probably high martial skills or stewardship to hold onto their titles is good, and matching traits, like it's -15 both sides when they got traits that are opposite, so they won't like each other much and won't have many kids regardless of the fertility. The Kin line is also good, the 10 fertility there isn't much, but the next two perks are actually great. The studious youth guarantees a 3-4 star education, which isn't much but like 4 extra success rolls, I think I havent saw any kid that didn't got 3 star minimum after this perk, which is also a few more skill points and better events. Now the more dynasty members you got, the better, but it caps on 200 living members. Can have more, since the best 200 is selected, around 600 is the sweet spot, then the best 200 is actually good, also they will marry on their own. The third perk in kin is great. Spouse care, which is health, a bit of opinion bonus and less chance of death at childbirth. I actually had the fastest next perk after this, within a few years I was able to get the next house perk. So even if you spend 4 on these perks, might worth doing before getting into the eugenics tree. Part of this is that quite often you get daughters that are better than your sons, and quite often they die with one or no kids. There was a better strategy before, and being an empire doesn't hurt for the extra domain and MAA, and the ability to get much better royal court items. But now I noticed you can't give independence to de jure empire titles. You can still grant independence to non de jure, but then you need to get titles outside de jure. So for that kind of play I would go with Sicily/Naples empire or the new Slavia and not like Khazaria or Russia or Byzantine, it won't let you fall apart. You want a small empire and even letting others control de jure land, so you got the smallest empire, small culture, to play tall and just make decisions for a few people.
I didn't even try to get legendary in under 250 years and I did anyway. It's not actually that difficult but you need to be a bit lucky. Marry your dynasty members matrilineally to grand kids of certain rulers that are 3rd in line. If you have enough prestige and titles it's a big bonus since their father is unable to be landed by the grandfather since they are already the heir. In a couple generations or less your dynasty will be on the throne and voila. Just make sure you support them enough. Later on you can claim their thrones since you are the same dynasty for easy blobbing late game
I once was able to get my great grandson onto the Byzantine throne. He died in like 2 months. Save scummed time see if it would not happen again, but still happen sadly. Don’t put a 5 year old on the throne.

Just found your channel, you have some great content. Edits could use some polish but good job! Keep it up! I think you can get to 10k subscribers in no time!
You said that you got offered the stewardship position by your liege, so i just wanted to mention that if you change the contract upon starting the gane, and get guaranteed council rights, you can right click on your liege and demand whatever council position you want. Might save you a few restarts since you wont depend on rng. Cheers
NOO!! Bohemia under Kardashian rule, not my country, not my Bohemia😂😭, this hits right to my hearth and soul!
Im on +67 of renown each year started as a count in arabia, polygame is broken af
Didn't read the comments and I don't know if it already had been mention: with some cultures (English, Czech,...) you can get extra renown for castles your family member have. Also the English culture gives a bit extra for chivalry.
It should easily be possible to get 40 renown per month.
I rate the content but I can see how obviously who’s inspired him 😂 good video
Interesting video, I like new concepts
Great advices, thank you!
Just subbed, good stuff
Increasing development in Prague would just make your income and levies shoot up way quicker
Ah yes, the famous Armenian dynasty that once ruled Czechia.
I played ck3 today
Starting as the Dutchy of polania
Iron man game wirh achievements
100 years in we had 20 renown a month
Can we do this again
Started a few days ago as Count of Genova... and somehow i was able to marry one of my daughters of to the King of Lothringia... helps a lot.
I once was able to get my great grandson onto the Byzantine throne. He died in like 2 months. Save scummed time see if it would not happen again, but still happen sadly. Don’t put a 5 year old on the throne.
Love it!
love the humor
Gotta support Ottawa man as a Gatineau man myself
@@OttawaWelshman Ah ben tabarnac il est des notres
I don't know if you have uploaded more videos like this but i love it. Finally a CK3 youtuber who knows what he is doing
@@OttawaWelshman Wow i didn't realize that this channel is only a few months old. You are totally comfortable and it feels like you are doing this forever.
I would love to see a more detailed version of how you dealt with the HRE becaue i always loose my cool when i face enemies who have way more soldiers than i do.
But im honestly super happy to have found this video. You are not using the character generator to build someone op, you are not steam rolling over the map like everyone else does, you know your stuff and the video is both concise and easy to digest while also beeing very detailed and informative.
Time to search through your backlog for more cool videos :3.
I always knew that the Kardashian’s were behind everything
The control the meditterannean decision rewards are currently bugged as they stack for each dynasty ruler. I had +300 renown per month after activating it last week.
With "Chivalry" tradition you get 50 renown per Romance. Ontop of all that Independant Ruler stuff.
New content! lessgo
Do you have, or are you planning on doing a similar run but with the Habsburgs? It was literally the first run I tried but I always failed. Would love to see someone experienced have a go at it.
I have a feeling this channel is going to get big.. remember me for I am the potato and I am counted among the first of the subs
I remember a save that my family have 3000 living member and 97 house (also around 15 king independent and around 20 king under my rule)
@@OttawaWelshman half of europe is my domain. Also I have 9 empire title or something. My family have around 4 legacy complete. I conquer poland and sweden just for stoping border gore and not rightfull liege debuff to go away
If you are tribal you can do the same things he is doing the Conan way, ie smashing the puny realms of the civilized and bestowing them to your family members.
I once managed to marry a family member into the Byzantine Empire. It took a lot of patience, but man it was so funny when I finally had a muslim ruler on the throne of Byzantium
It would be interesting to see a new run now that royal courts is out
