I am really looking forward to the Ordinary video. When I started into skincare, I started with them and saw dramatic results. These were largely because I had been completely neglecting my skin. So seeing photos from seven years earlier and realizing I looked much younger have me a huge boost, but also a false sense of what skincare could do. My skin has plateaued, but I am ok with it. I look GREAT and people don't believe my age. So that's a win.
My take on dr. Dray -who I absolutely love- is that when there are weirdities (never falsities!) in what she says it's because of her training and experience as a clinician. Take the fragrance example. No dermatologist has ever in the history of dermatology recommended a fragranced product for a patient in their care. For a good reason. A patient who goes to see a dermatologist is likely suffering from one skin condition or another making them gazillion times more prone to irritation than usual so it's only logical for them to eliminate as many possible irritants and sensitizers from their skin care as possible. This is of course not true in the general population. Dr. Dray has definitely gotten better at talking to the general population as opposed to patients over the years but I for one sometimes miss the clinician Dray. I have several skin conditions so I always appreciated her super conservative, "patient safe" takes.
She’s explained herself before. She does this safe approach because she knows if she recommends something her viewers are probably going to try it. So if something went wrong it would be amplified due to the reach she has. Love dr. Dray ❤️
Some of my favorites have been Dr. Dray recommendations. I have dry, sensitive skin and it's nice to have some safe recommendations to try so I don't end up buying more products that I just end up giving away to friends because they irritate my skin.
I loved your live with GlamGirlGabi❣️ She is one of my faves and I love her suggestions for us mature ladies….I’m 71 years young and really appreciate her and she’s so fun! I try to watch you at least twice/month and take to heart your reviews and news….keep it up, you’re great!!👍🏻 🤩
I really appreciate hearing the science behind what ingredients in skincare do--we all have different skin types/needs, and understanding what ingredients do to your skin makes shopping for skin care easier and less expensive (less purchase regrets).
Loved that last bit about managing expectations with skincare. It takes both consistency and patience to see results! I'm still having trouble with consistently using my skincare, so I know I can't expect results within a month!
I’m so sad I missed live today. My escape artist dog got out last night. My sis thought he was with me and vice versa. Of course I realized this at 9:50am 😮! Thankfully I have awesome neighbors and go him back within an hour of posting on Nextdoor. I feel like missing live was like letting my “job” or something! Watching now 7:20pm
Sorry I missed the live. You may never see this, Jen, but I just wanted to say how much I appreciate you talking about the issue with the owners of FFF and what they posted on twitter (refusing to call it anything else) and cancelling your sponsorship. I am a former subscriber to both FFF and Scentbird. I was taking a break from both for mostly product overload reasons, but would never go back to either, now. I have stopped following several people on RUclips, because they continue to take sponsorships from these brands. I really appreciate that you put your values first.
I’m only watching this on replay so I hope people see it. My new favorite cleansing oil is the Neutrogena ultra light cleansing oil. This is phenomenal. I highly highly recommend it. It doesn’t leave a cast in your eyes. It removes all of your waterproof makeup. It’s the best cleansing oil I’ve ever used.
I also use and love the Elf cleansing balm….not so much on my eyes (although it does work,) but on my face it works great and makes my skin feel soft afterwards.
Loved you with Glam Girl Gabi, was so happy to see you! The Farmacy Honey Halo has been my favorite nighttime moisturizer since I found it, 47 with dry skin. I’m with everyone else get the Elf Holy Hydration cleansing balm. I love Good Genes my skin does better with Lactic Acid, looking to try something maybe not so expensive 😮❤
If you need a good reliable cream Vanicream at the drugstore is amazing, good for eczema and psoriasis simple ingredients but effective 😀 it’s good for sensitive skin
I’ve been using Lawless Forget the Filler Moisturizing cream. I’m on my second jar of it. I’m not one of those who believes wholeheartedly in clean beauty, but this moisturizer is fantastic!
I've been using the cosrx rice mask as a day moisturizer for years now, it's really great and doesn't leave that feeling of like a film over your skin like the cosrx hyaluronic acid cream and most nivea products I've used. I hate that feeling, it's my neuro spicy talking I think
I was soo bummed when I found out about the fabfitfun people spreading hate and ignorance. The monthly subscription boxes were my little window to try nicer products than I could normally afford and was something me and my mom bonded over to have a shared interest we could both get excited about and go through our box of goodies together but knowing supporting them would support people literally trying to instigate my erasure pretty obviously ruined it for me. If there is another subscription box I can enjoy without fear I'll move to that when possible.
I can CLEARLY see the difference with the skin care I use. Like, if I'm aiming for a specific condition aka milia I found a product that deals with that, I had dry skin build up making my fine lines more prominent, so I dealt with that, I have post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and light therapy and retinol really helps, and the light therapy all round has stopped my acne, plumped my skin, and the eye cream has cured me of my rashes/eczema on my eyes. Like. I will spend the big money on these products because they work and if I skip it for too long my skin starts going downhill again. I was looking my worst at 30, and took a few years to work out what worked on me and now at 35yo I'm set. I don't think you should aim for anti-ageing products, I think you should find specific products for specific problems which in turn make you feel/look more "youthful"
I believe Caroline Hirons talks about this on her channel...the difference with US and EU regulations. Sunday Riley lactic acid cannot be sold because of the concentration level. So SR makes good genes glycolic instead for EU.
I find it interesting that lactic acid is for sensitive skin. I have rosacea. I can’t use lactic acid, it flares my rosacea breakouts. But glycolic acid my skin loves lol I haven’t heard this from anyone else with rosacea but flare triggers can be pretty diverse per individual ❤❤
There is really no benefit to adding fragrance and fragrant essential oils to skin care for your face. Maybe it’s not harmful to a larger percentage of people, but it can really cause significant issues for the people who are. No dermatologist would ever recommend fragranced skin care, ever. There are so many other ways to experience aromatherapy.

I love the smell of Ole Hendrikson products.
Saw the snippets of Jen on the documentary of Lisa Frank.
OHH

I love the Elf cleansing balm
Would never purchase anything out of a advent calendar unless it was full size and I really enjoyed it❤
I gotta wake up earlier next week, I miss hanging with the girls live~ ^^

I just bought that PTR moisturizer on Black Friday, excited to try!!
I love Typology. The products are amazing and they last forever.

Love your video. Just discovered you today❤
The Augustine Badar packaging is the same component as Sunday Riley uses for their 15ml Good Genes.

Dr. Dray is a doctor therefore she’s going to give a professional opinion and err on the side of caution - better to use non fragrance products.
Oh my! To excited for this! Love to hear your opinion on skincare!!
Johnny Ross loves the Byoma lip mask 😊
My ride or die cleansing balm is the Clinique Take The Day Off. Have repurchased so many times.

I like the Clinique balm ❤

Because of your analysis I also cancelled my FFF at that time.
