Citizens do not pay taxes so one or a few board members can use extortion tactics to force their beliefs on the entire community. We pay so all students will get all the information they can then learn to choose what is right for themselves. Taking away opportunities because racists don't want to allow equal opportunity robs the entire community of those students' potential contributions. Imagine the anger you would feel if people not in your "in group" said they didn't have to give your smart and capable kid a chance because you weren't the "right type" and felt your kid didn't deserve a chance no matter how hard they had worked? You'd be outraged too. Our kids are tired of this fake "meritocracy". We should want actual equity for everyone's sake.
You're confusing meritocracy with nepotism. Nepotism is the problem.
The irony in your statement is very strong.
These kids need to learn the ABC's and 123's not Gay is me. 🤷
I’m incredibly proud of the initiative our students took to organize for this rally to advocate for what they need and what has worked for them so that future students can have access to those same programs. As a 50+ year old woman, I couldn’t help but be incredibly amazed and impressed by each and every student who came to the microphone shared something insightful, demonstrated that they understand the importance of civics and being active in a community, of using their voice, of how to respectfully greet and speak committees & respect timelines. There were many students who pushed themselves to speak despite their obvious anxiety that could be heard in the shakiness in their voice. I commend all of you for your bravery and for how well you presented yourselves and represented your schools. It was incredibly disheartening that Director Hoekman felt the need to say something so negative and judgmental about the students within the schools she is serving who had just been so brave and passionate to show the initiative they did. That would have been a moment when it would have been better to keep your negative comments in your thought bubble rather than to criticize the students, their parents, and their teachers!

@@rottenparts Bro got that 4th grade reading level 😂
@@MMacro-om4tiThat wasn't even an insult. Should've at least said Kindergarten or something.
@@rottenparts Oh my bad I didn't know I was responding to a 5th grader.

You should take some night classes
Typical republican rhetoric. Is against higher education, then gets worried over losing unskilled jobs to immigrants. We will send the immigrants to school then. You BillyBobs seem happy in general labor.
@@cutiepiecatloveallanimals6602 You should take in some culture.

@@cutiepiecatloveallanimals6602 Okay kid, time to do your chores or your homework. This medium ain't your forte.

Are you going to trust administrative boards to be fair and equitable? You conservatives want to go back to separate water fountains and arresting the G community. We already seen schools get called out on unfair admission.
@@cutiepiecatloveallanimals6602 Misogyny. Caught you!
What did you do differently than others to 'earn it'?

They are not 18 so they cannot be drafted into the military, if you think your ideas are worth defending open up the draft down to 15 year olds if you don’t think that is correct sit down shut up go to school do what your told until you are 18 when you legally have a voice
RIP to all the braincells that people lost reading your comment.
@@Deadener Why? These kids do nothing but bark at the moon.
One of the reasons that is is because of what Derek stated. They don't get to play grown up games.
how are you going to legally force minors to attend school, but then get mad at them for telling you what they need to be successful?

Do it for the children? HAHAHAHAHA!
@StruggleBus_Captain You don't care about the state of the kids, you care about controlling them. Listen to the youth, they're the future.
