They have offered to return the hostages but Netanyahu has rejected any negotiations. Hamas was asking for a ceasefire in order to get the deal but the Israeli government wants total extermination of Palestinians.

Which side are you advising? ...Israel started this fight in 1948 when they turned on the Palestinians who they had been living side by side with and used the stockpile of guns that they had amassed for that specific purpose to round up the unarmed Palestinians and force them to leave everything they owned behind at gunpoint has been. The name Palestine came from the Romans around 70AD so Jews would forget their homeland. Most Jews were kicked out of Judea, then from the Romans.

The Palestinian-Israeli conflict has lasted more than 70 years, during which time Israel has developed into a military power with a strong economy. Palestinians have received relief from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) for more than 70 years, but the situation today is no different from 70 years ago. Palestinians in the Gaza Strip must be clearly aware of the bitter reality that, today unlike 70 years ago, perhaps some countries will not be able to continue sponsoring the 2.3 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, when The Palestinian refugee problem has existed for more than 70 years and still has no way out.
Had they accepted partition in 1948 or accepted any of the land for peace offers they would be far better off. But now no one wants them, especially Jordan and Egypt. They were kicked out of Jordan because of an attempted assassination of the king and after that they took over Lebanon and destroyed it.

Regardless of how it feels, if the criticism has nothing to do with anyone being Jewish, then it isn't antisemitic. I would oppose Netanyahu no matter his religion, or ethnicity. Those things are irrelevant to my objections to what's being done to Palestinians.

Have you ever read the full story of atrocities that Israel has committed on Palestinians? You will be surprised that they have _only_ done that massive attack as a major one
The Jewish people didn’t self-determine the state of Israel. The British conquests of the Ottoman Empire and their mandates during WWI and WWII did. They promised Jews land there, just like they promised Arabs under Turkish oppression lands there, knowing they weren’t gonna live up to their promise. The promise made to the Jewish supporters of the Allies was largely a means to prevent Jewish intellectual leaders during WWI from committing to communism in Russia.
Included in Palestine at that time was present day Lebonon, Jordan and Syria.
Being Jewish is following Judaism, it's NOT a race of people. People from any race can convert to Judaism.
So why is "The West" bending over backwards to create a race from a religion and then give people following that religion more rights than actual marginalized races have ever had??

I don't understand the disconnect. He himself says that he feels these protests are antisemitic because they are essentially saying that Israel should not have the right to protect and provide for its people, own land, and exercise control of its own state. That is not technically what they are saying, but for the sake of argument, we'll go with it. He himself then says he knows that the protests' purpose is to defend/advocate for another people's right to have and do the same for their people. Great, for a brief moment there I thought we had made a real breakthrough in the realization that A: other cultures and people besides Israel exist B: Those people want the same basic decency as Israelis do C: Those people have just as much right to those things as Israelis do. I should have known that that last point would be a bridge too far.
This is somehow the worst version of this argument that I have heard to date because he actually gave tacit acknowledgment that he KNOWS that what Israel wants and what the Palestinians want are the exact same thing, but he still arrogantly ends with "but it feels antisemitic because ..." and we end up coming full circle back to "they are saying Israel shouldn't have its own state" I lose brain cells every time I have to hear this damn argument...and I am going to say flat out that this argument that is being put forth again and again and again by these Jewish college students is exactly how you grow a robust antisemitic sentiment where there previously was none. If multiple different members of one particular group are making the same reprehensible argument across the United States and on every media outlet, you have to start to assume that this is what the group as a whole believes. And ANY group of people who believes that their right to self-rule means that they can take the right to self-rule away from another people, or that their right to safety, security, and peace means that they can actively take security, safety, and peace away from another people ...any group with those beliefs is NOT good. Call that antisemitism if you must, but people have a right to tell you that you are wrong.
The conduct of these protesters is indefensible.
We can continue to bring up October 7th. Especially since the governing power of Gaza said it will happen again and again if given the opportunity. The majority of Gazans and Palestinians in the West Bank support Hamas.

Some interesting interviews here……I woukd like to refer to the lady in the headscarf and the final lady ( the new graduate). Both seem to be saying that October 7 was invetible and that all peaceful means have been exhausted. This thinking is disturbing. It would have been nice an I f they had made a distinction between Israeli government and Jewish people. The total US aid to 6 million Israeli jews since 1948 as provided by the Israeli newspaper Ha'aretz is $234 billion dollars (a conservative estimate), which equates to $39,000 per person. This figure does not include the $3 Billion for the "Iron Dome" missile defense system donated to Israel by American taxpayers..nor does it include the 10's of billions in grants, forgiven loans and loan guarantees.
Nor does it include the $1.69 BILLION dollars American taxpayers donated to Israel since 1973 to "resettle refugees".
And there's $38 BILLION more from the American taxpayer 2018-2028 making a grand total of $272 BILLION by 2028 donated to a "jewish state" by American taxpayers alone. It's almost $200 BILLION more than Germany's reparations to the jews (approx $80 billion). Why?

Thank you for allowing the open dialogue, Esme. Although unknown to me, Ms. Wazwaz impressed me with her knowledge and what can be extrapolated from it. When the Israeli publication +972 released the testimony of first hand accounts detailing the indiscriminate targeting that the operators admit was flawed and the rules of war were not observed at the command level. She mentions operation lavender and the targeting of individuals based on fluid input targeting parameters of AI algorithms that the operators are quoted as saying they couldn't keep up with the computers' targeting lists and oversight was a few seconds.
I would add, the program "where's daddy" was also discussed by the soldiers. One which targeted family homes and apartments of AI generated suspects. A system using 2 ton bombs on low level suspects to save on costs. It might be a new normal unfolding and as evidenced in the horror, 70% of fatalities are women and children. It's a recipe for catastrophe and a war crime.

There is a documentary that contains the first-hand video narrative of several Israeli citizens telling the story of what they did to the Palestinian's who had welcomed them in with open arms and lived side by side with them as neighbors. They broke down in emotion saying how awful they felt about betraying the Palestinians, but that they would do it again, that it was necessary because they "deserved" their own country. That is an utterly indefensible, abhorrent argument but it is the same one that Israel is still making today.

They protest for a people that historically did not exist. The modern idea of Palestinians was created in the 20th century by an Arab movement to counter the establishment of Jews in the region. Historically, Palestine had fluctuating borders over the past 2000 years, mainly encompassing southern Lebanon, southern Syria, Transjordan, and northeastern Egypt. However, the current borders of countries were established in the 20th century, reducing Palestine to its current territory. This territory once hosted numerous tribes in conflict until the Jews, present for at least 2600 years, took control from the other peoples of the region who had previously oppressed them.
