    Introduction:
Hi there Tex, what you say
Step aside partner, it's my day
Bend an ear and listen to my version
Of a really solid Tennessee excursion
    Lyrics:
    Pardon me, boy
Is that the Chattanooga choo choo?
    Track twenty-nine
Boy, you can gimme a shine
    Can You afford
To board a Chattanooga choo choo
    I've got my fare
And just a trifle to spare
You leave the Pennsylvania Station 'bout a quarter to four
Read a magazine and then you're in Baltimore
    Dinner in the diner
    Nothing could be finer
Than to have your ham an' eggs in Carolina
When you hear the whistle blowin' eight to the bar
Then you know that Tennessee is not very far
    Shovel all the coal in
    Gotta keep it rollin'
Woo, woo, Chattanooga there you are
    There's gonna be
A certain party at the station
    Satin and lace
I used to call "funny face"
    She's gonna cry
Until I tell her that I'll never roam
    So Chattanooga choo choo
    Won't you choo-choo me home?
    Chattanooga choo choo
    Won't you choo-choo me home?

    Traducción al español :
    Introducción
    Hola Tex, lo que dices
    Paso de ello socio,
    es mi dia
Pon atención y escucha mi versión
De una excursión realmente sólida de Tennessee
    Letra :
    Perdóname chico
¿Ese es el choo Choo de Chattanooga?
    Pista veintinueve
    Vamos a tener allí
    Una fiesta en la estación,
    Satén y encaje,
    solía llamarla "cara divertida".
    Ella va a llorar
hasta que yo le diga que nunca volveré a vagar
    Así que Chattanooga choo choo
    ¿No quieres llevarme a casa?
    Chattanooga choo choo
¿No quieres que me vuelvas a casa?

@@kieran3473 ... But they did music videos starting in the mid-1920's -- as synchronized sound film-making became practical.... Go to: wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_video#1926-1959:_Talkies,_soundies,_and_shorts .... When TV got big, short music videos/films were still made -- but they seemed to become far less common.... It's a mystery to me why it took until the 1980's before music videos became 'big' again...

Every era has good and bad music. But it takes a few years before the bad stuff from the era is forgotten and only the good stuff is remembered.

"Pardon me, BOY, is that the Chattanooga Choo Choo? BOY, you can give me a shine." Things sure have changed. They were so casual in their racism back then.

O'Brien Gerald How do you know who they were even referring to? It wasn't even referenced one time the race of the fellow. I guess it all depends on interpretation.

    • @AD-yi3qz
      @AD-yi3qz 6 лет назад +7

gerald, did you forget to take your meds? There is absolutely zero racism implied here.
Shoe shine boys were boys. Black, white or otherwise. It was common to address the shoe shine boy as boy.
Calling someone boys is not racist in the least. Grow up and stop being silly.

What are you on about!!? This wasn’t anything related to racism. Your talking about the finest genre and this piece happened to be the very first hit song to ever receive a gold record in the history of golden records. Meaning Glenn was the first person to get a gold record EVER! If you are sad about racism go outside today and take a look on how the world is acting as of 3/1/2021. Far worse than what your thought this magnificent video is. It’s people like you who ruin the internet and such gold finding for everyone else.
