    The company I worked for had a 1979 kw with the big cam in it & it was sitting for 10 years & we put new batteries in it and it took us a couple trys to get it to start but once we got it started it sure did run really good and sounded really healthy and the Jake on it sounded good too. The sound of them old Cummins will never get old

    Boy that Smoke Stack is extremely close to the passenger door isn't it my uncle had Peterbilt 377 dump truck with a Cummins Big cam 3 and I burned my arm numerous times on the stack because it was so close to the door just like you'res is I was afraid to ride in that truck because of that unless I had a long sleeve shirt to cover my arm

    • @DanielBoonesloggingvideos
      @DanielBoonesloggingvideos  4 года назад

      yeah some of those older cummins smoke pretty fierce until warmed up, the more hp you are getting from one of those motors the more smoke at warm up.

    • @michaellangdonful
      @michaellangdonful 4 года назад

      Daniel Boone's Logging videos Oh okay. So it’s just normal for those older Big Cam Cummins motors to smoke fiercely until they’re warmed up? My dad just had a Big Cam 3 Cummins 400 put in his dump truck that’s freshly rebuilt and it smokes fiercely when you start it cold and then it smokes less after it’s warmed up. It also smokes when you press on the accelerator to get going and when you press on the accelerator after shifting a gear.

    • @DanielBoonesloggingvideos
      @DanielBoonesloggingvideos  4 года назад

      yeah pretty common for em until at operating temp for sure.

    • @DanielBoonesloggingvideos
      @DanielBoonesloggingvideos  6 лет назад +1

      Michael Langdon yeah that’s a little different, not sure why they are there. I would think if it was going up and down the road constantly road grime and driver would eat away at those.

    • @michaellangdonful
      @michaellangdonful 6 лет назад

      +Daniel Boone's logging video's I would think so too. My dad has a '77 KW W900 dump truck that has the battery savers located on the rear.
