A friend of mine was at a repair shop, called me and asked if i ever heard of this part. I found your video 1st watched it amd within 5mins called her back and said do NOT pay 400 for it!! This can be fixed with 20 bucks amd 5mins time... THANK YOU!
Just came from your other video about where to hookup charge the AC and this was my other problem and this was the first one to pop up lol. Dude... you're a life saver! Went all last summer with it just on vents with the two left vents closed to block the heat. Now I'm ready to tackle this problem. At least I can manually do it until get the new actuator. Thank you for showing us how!!! Subscribed!
Thank you so much for this video. I've replaced mine twice and they have charged 600-900 at 2 different shops. After watching this I'm like 😱🤦♀️. My AC hasn't worked in a yr and it tends to get up to 120 here. I'll be able to fix it myself.
$600-$900 to replace a $20 part that doesn’t take but about 30 give or take minutes to do? Whew…my friend, they were raping you! I could see charging $200-$300 but had they told me more than that I would’ve laughed in their face. No wonder more and more people are turning to RUclips and learning how to do stuff themselves!
Great video! Im starting to have buyers remorse. I bought a used 2012 in april of 24 and it spent 9 weeks in the garage already for a transmission replacement, parts back ordered 40 days. and its been 1 thing after another in repairs.Thinking of trading it in after 3 months of ownership. Im not used to cars being this much trouble. Ive owned 2 Buick Encores no trouble at all.Go Figure
Thanks! I have a 2012 Buick Enclave that has this problem and your video was a big help. Seems to me like this issue is only unique to American cars because every Japanese vehicle I’ve owned that never happens. Of course, not saying it doesn’t happen to Japanese or any other foreign made vehicle, but it does seem to happen more often than not to American vehicles! 🙄😒
Nice video, thanks for making it easy to follow. I just had to replace the passenger side and you are correct it is a pain. And it still doesn't work. Not sure why but I think it's not calibrated correctly. Going to try what you did here and see if I can get eyes on it when I adjust the temp. It made a clicking noise when I turned it on. I ordered from Amazon $20 so it may have been defective. If you have any tips I would appreciate it. Thanks
Very informative. I'm not sure if this is the actuator I need. Is there an actuator for the fan that determines where air blows? Ours is stuck on feet only.. no air coming from dash vents.. blower seems strong..
Great video. Got a question. Was hearing this clicking noise. Thought they were my actuators. It only made the sound when i didnt have it on recirculation. When i put off recirculation or defrost, it would start clicking againg. The sound is coming from above the cabin filter. When i took the cabin filter out. I can see some piece moving above it up in the dash. But dont what part that is. Do u know the cause?
You did a really good video I love your instructions if you're willing to get on your hands and knees you will save a lot of money yes but I watched another video and it says they get gummed up from time to time and they stick all you need is some lubricant try this first before you take it all apart again good job with the instructions a little spit goes a long ways
If this actuator door is stuck on the hot.. Would that cause the floor and driver side dash vents to have HELL heat Comming from them even if the HVAC unit is completely turned off?
Thanks so much! I used a flat head this winter to change to heat, now I'm about to replace it. Have you ever had to replace a headlight? I'm about to do that job and it looks like a tire removal and pulling out several retaining pins... The headlight and yellow parking lights are out. Great car when everything works, but way too expensive to have repair shops do this type of work.
If you turn to hot and it’s hot than turn to cold and you can feel it get cooler just not 🥶 I’d try a recharge. I don’t think it’s possible to install these incorrectly.
Question, 2012 Enclave is not blowing out of the defrost windshield vent, I hear clicking deep behind the glovebox. I can see the actuators. How do I know which one it is?? Drivers side or passenger side?? Thanks
God you make it look easy the dealer sold my wife a Buick Enclave right away it had a bad drive chain I was up to 6000 from the dealer yeah I think Buick is a rich person's car I think I want try some WD-40 in there
Thank you for this video.. is it possible that both right and left actuators go out at the same time?? We have cold air blowing on our feet only.. would it be the control knob, maybe? Seems coincidental both would be out at the same time. Thoughts? Anyone?
Hey! Quick question, didn’t fully swap yet, just Manually turned the door actuator from hot to A/C,which would be fine for the summer, stayed for a couple days, but somehow moved back into heat position, opened her up again and turned it again, wanted to pull the electrical connection with the hopes that it’ll stay , but seems like it has a safety lock or something, you said you can just pull it? I didn’t want to break it, needle nose and straight pull out?
@@mts0628 good luck with that one. It’s above the one on the passenger side on the left side of the glove compartment but it’s not the first one you’ll see. It’s the one above that one. I couldn’t get to it so I turned in the AC, turned in the circulate mode and then unplugged the cable so it stays in recirculating mode. If you are able to remove it please write me back or make a video. I gave up
Mine is just blowing hot. Both sides and rear. I recharged it and it’s holding the refrigerant. Is it possible both sides need to be replaced, or maybe it’s something else entirely??
In this case I would disconnect the driver side blendoor actuator than get a flat head screw driver and manually turn it. This will tell you if it’s all the actuators or something else.
My ac not blowing from top vents only from bottom Is this the same part for my problem and is there only one side or is more then one actuator . My vehicle is a 2011 buick enclave
Great detailed video. I changed this exact one out in about 15mins.Thank you! Quick question about the Enclave. Have you encountered the check engine codes: 7EA, 7EB, 7EB:Engine This vehicle has been a headache with check engine codes and issues. Thanks again.
Almost all check engine codes start with a P. With these 7EAand 7EB they are not serious and a slight communication between sensors that end up correcting themselves.
@@str8burbn thank you. I did notice that the engine light will start to flash when I increase the acceleration between 2-3 RPMs and slight hesitation. Then when I get to a level speed the light stays solid.
You need to change the temp from hot to cold and figure what side isn’t changing. If it’s the passenger side you’ll need to remove your glove box and it’s tucked in on the left side it’s hard to get to. Driver side is easy to do.
If your passenger side is not changing from hot to cold than it’s your passenger. You’ll have to drop your glove box theirs 2 black tabs you’ll twist and pull out and the glove box will drop down. Once dropped it’s located on the left side in the glove box it’s kinda difficult to get to but it’s doable.
Is this an auxiliary door or a “main” accentuate cuz the auto part store keeps telling me I have to buy the more expensive one for almost $100!!! These ones are like $40-50!
