also i disagree with you that there is no such thing as permanent spiritual benefits from psychedelics, because after a couple of trips I started believing in god after being an atheist my entire life. the effects definitely wear off after some time but some "relizations" are permanent.

You can experience something really profound like your own fundamental nature or God if you want to call it that, but that awareness slowly degrades after the trip. So yes suppose you are an atheist, this means that you don’t believe in god. Now one day you take a psychedelic and you experience god, that is very profound in itself. But the experience of god still slips away once the effects wear off. After the trip you can then say “I believe in god”, now you stop being an atheist, but please notice that nothing changed. You simply switched your belief system from not believing in a god to believing in a god. The only change that happened is that you switched your beliefs after a profound experience. When I say “the trip cannot give you permanent spiritual insight” I mean that whatever you may have experienced, it will fall out of your perception again once the effects wear off. So in the example that you give you’ve gotten into an experience so profound that you believe that god exists, but that which you call as the source of creation has fallen out of your perception once more. You are not experiencing the source of creation right now isn’t it? Right now you only see your 5 senses and the physical dimension, the rest of reality has fallen out of your perception once more. So psychedelics cannot give this spiritual awareness permanently, once the effects wear off you will only make conclusions of the trip and start believing in certain things. There are ways to experience the source of creation permanently, every moment of your life it could be in your perception. But it is not possible to get there with psychedelics
