Not surprised at all. The Knob Creek 12 year would be a great value at TWICE the price! It is one of my all time favorites and I can still find it when I need another bottle. It has the flavor profile that truly defines what a good bourbon should be!
So what I have taken from this video is that I need to hunt down some of those Italian Rainbow Cookies...cuz dang...that looked delicious. This was great triple bass...kudos to whoever suggested it!
Before even watching the video. I had seen the KC12 at drops in virginia but just had something else in mind. One time, i peeked my head into a store, wasn't interested 8n what was available, and was about to head to another store. Then, I decided eff it and got the KC12. I'll just say that was a good decision, and i won't look past it anymore
With awesome regulars like KC12, Stagg, ECBP, and LBP in the $60 range I really hesitate to pay more than $100 for anything else! Thanks as always for the review!
I wish KC 12 was priced better in my area. Everyone is charging secondary pricing. 150. Luckily I found 2 bottles for 70 each. But only once have I seen it and the store hasn't brought in anymore
I'm actually surprised the Evan didn't come out on top. It's one of the best pours I've ever had and my KC12 just kinda sits on my shelf. It's not bad, but my palate seems to be moving away from the Beam profile, I guess.
I have the Knob Creek 12, 18, and 9 year single barrel reserve. The 9 year is by far my favorite, then the 18, and the 12 year pretty much just sits there. I always hope friends will want a pour, so I can get rid of it. I like the 1792 and I have never had the Evan Williams 12.
Yesterday I picked up a bottle and I agree it is one of the best/enjoyable bourbons I have ever had. It is the right blend of flavors that makes using the word delicious accurate. It might just become my favorite. Need to spend more time to be sure but what an amazing first impression.
yay KC12, i was root’n for ya! i’ve tried the ew12 (re-imported), and thought it was just confectionary sugar with a touch of oak/ leather- far too simple to be worth the $200 i spent on a bottle (and all the reimportation fuss).
Maybe i got an off bottle of Knob Creek 12 or its not my profile, but i have not enjoyed the bottle i picked up. I really want to like it and hope some air fixes my problem.
I'm surprised by the results as I recently did a flight at the Evan Williams experience in Louisville featuring EW 12yr, Elijah Craig 12yr & Lacency 12yr and the red label smashed the other for flavour and finish. Undoubtedly one of the best bourbons I have tasted cheers.
When I was first getting into bourbon I got a sample of KC12 and a sample of a KC single barrel. I did a blind with those and the standard KC9. I was surprised I picked the standard KC9. Now that I’ve been into bourbon a little longer it would be cool to do the blind again and see how my taste has changed. I’ll have to keep an eye out for the 1792 12, the EW12 is definitely not in my budget.
Interesting comparison! If price and availability are factored in, there would be an even bigger gap between the Knob Creek and the rest! Shows what a great value the Knob Creek 12 is to be on the shelf for ~$70 most of the year.
Interesting review! Always great to see how good knob creek 12 stands up against other great bourbons. One of my favorites as well. Thanks for the video!
KC 12 used to sit on the shelves in PA until they did a half off purge recently. I got a couple bottles but concerned about what that means going forward.
You know what's weird. I got a KC12 around this time last year, and it's one of my least favorite bottles I have (granted my collection isn't huge, 25 bottles or so). It's very sharp and nail polish-y, none of the dark and refined flavors you speak of here. Maybe it's the particular batch is different. I put it in a blind with several cheaper 100 proof options and my friends also all put it dead last. It makes me want to try another bottle and see how different it might be
I was also unimpressed with my bottle. I did a Beam blind when I first opened it up and it lost to OGD BiB for both me and my gf. 😂 Weeks later it beat it, but not drastically.
I’m a fan over here now cause of @bourbonjunkies. Just wanted to throw that in here. Anyway, I’ve become a quick fan here, happily subscribed. I can’t wait to get some Knob 12. If you haven’t done yet I’d say a port finished blind video. Some of my favorites, but I’m still an amateur. I’m also very curious about Texas bourbon, another idea. Anyways cheers!
Enjoy seeing a regular shelf find taking down harder to find whisky! Keep this theme going with other age stated bottles. Would also be fun to see if younger age can take down older….
Great match up Jason! That KC12 is a damn good value. You should put Wild Turkey 12 101 up against it. I think it would be an interesting head to head. Cheers!
Feels like Full Proof is the only 1792 special release I ever see in my area. I wish the others were more readily available. Good products for the price from what I've tasted.
Before I watch, I'm going to hazard a guess that Knob Creek 12 will take top honors. I've had that one, and the 1792. I've not had the Evan Williams. But Knob Creek is so good, that I can't imagine it not winning. I shall see very soon. Thanks for another great matchup video! BAM! Not surprised. Knob Creek 12 Year is one of the bottles that I would take with me into exile.
EW 12 seems overpriced. It’s basically only sold in the US at the Evan Williams experience in Louisville, and they charge about $100 more than what they charge for it in Japan (it’s about $40 USD there). They also have the Master Blend and 23 year expressions there, both are a bit overpriced but worth a try.
I am always leery to put Jim Beam in blinds unless it’s up against other Jim Beam or Heaven Hill products. With that said, Know Creek is kind of an exception, because I don’t get punched in face with peanut.
I will always have KC12 on my shelf! A bunch of deliciousness. I'm not a fan of 1792 12yr., although I haven't put it up in a blind it tastes a bit one dimensional to me and doesn't live up to it's 12yr. age statement. Can't wait to crack my EW12 that I just picked up in Japan! Bought it through Amazon Japan, delivered to my AirBnb for $40! Gotta go back to Japan! LOL

I really miss all of those 15 year Knob store picks that were so plentiful 3 or 4 years ago. Takes the regular 12 release to a whole new level!
Kc 12 year for me is one of thr best bottles that is fairly easy to get
The KC12 juggernaut continues to roll!!!
Not surprised at all. The Knob Creek 12 year would be a great value at TWICE the price! It is one of my all time favorites and I can still find it when I need another bottle. It has the flavor profile that truly defines what a good bourbon should be!
Knob Creek 12 is readily available in my area for $70. One of my favorite bourbons.
Add the WT12 in the mix as well.
~100 Proof Single Barrel Showdown: Four Roses Single Barrel, Knob Creek Single Barrel, Russell's Reserve Single Barrel
Guess you could throw a Henry McKenna in there as well.
I was just going to suggest exactly that until I saw your comment. Would love to see it!
Which of the 12 Four Roses single barrel mashbills though?
@@FriarPop The standard single barrel (Non-Store pick or barrel strength) is always OBSV (#1)
So what I have taken from this video is that I need to hunt down some of those Italian Rainbow Cookies...cuz dang...that looked delicious. This was great triple bass...kudos to whoever suggested it!
I had the same Win, Place and Show. Love the 12 Year Knob Creek... I've bought 4 bottles just this year. Can't keep it corked...
I called the order in my head before the video started! KC12 and 1792 12yr are both in my top 5. Great value on both and great triple bass Jason!
I just wish they had higher proof version of the KC12 like they do for the 9yr single barrels. Please jimmy b 🙏
KC offered a 12 year cask strength a few years ago. I haven't seen one in the wild, though.
I preferred the 1792 Full Proof over the 12 year and I wasn't the only one at our round table some time back.🥃
1792 FP store picks are fire.
Before even watching the video. I had seen the KC12 at drops in virginia but just had something else in mind. KC 12 is a banger! Beats most "like age" stated products in blinds for me as well. Thanks for the episode, Jason!
I'm enjoying a 1792 Full Proff, fantastic.
With awesome regulars like KC12, Stagg, ECBP, and LBP in the $60 range I really hesitate to pay more than $100 for anything else! Thanks as always for the review!
‘Bout time KC13 earned a little respect!!! Been one of my favorites & one that launched my own bourbon journey.
The 120p is even better Cheers
I love this battle. not surprised at the winner such a solid pour keep these challenges coming. maybe a 15 yr battle? cheers
I wish KC 12 was priced better in my area. Everyone is charging secondary pricing. 150. Luckily I found 2 bottles for 70 each. But only once have I seen it and the store hasn't brought in anymore

I've heard there is a lot of variation in batches of Knob Creek 12. Maybe you got a dud.
Just picked up the 1792 12 year, and have the KC12. Nice match up Jason, I will try it and see how my review compares.
Cheers I agree Knob 12 is hard to beat even with the other 2 that I like 👍. 🥃
Yesterday I picked up a bottle and I agree it is one of the best/enjoyable bourbons I have ever had. It is the right blend of flavors that makes using the word delicious accurate. It might just become my favorite. Need to spend more time to be sure but what an amazing first impression.
Hi Jason. I just picked up the EW 12 in Tokyo last week for 33 bucks! I think it is a killer for that price and will be getting more when I go back!
Great blind. KC 12 is one of the best values out there
Just did this but had the Weller 12 in place of the EW12. KC 12 is always in my cabinet. Really enjoy it. Really nice dark not too sweet oak.
Just opened my first bottle of KC12 and loved it. Getting a backup bottle for around $70
Mash and Drum is my go-to whenever I want a new bourbon!
Great video, don’t have the Evan but I can do 1792 knobs blend. Got me excited to try it
yay KC12, i was root’n for ya! i’ve tried the ew12 (re-imported), and thought it was just confectionary sugar with a touch of oak/ leather- far too simple to be worth the $200 i spent on a bottle (and all the reimportation fuss).
Great video. I knew what you were drinking as you tasted. The Knob Creek 12 is my favorite Bourbon that I can, thankfully, find on the shelf.
Maybe i got an off bottle of Knob Creek 12 or its not my profile, but i have not enjoyed the bottle i picked up. I really want to like it and hope some air fixes my problem.

My favorite 12 yr. But can’t wait to try the other 2.

Just found a 1792 12 & will have to compare it to the KC12 soon
Interesting review! Always great to see how good knob creek 12 stands up against other great bourbons. One of my favorites as well. Thanks for the video!
KC12 is great
Knob Creek is my favorite!!!
KC 12 used to sit on the shelves in PA until they did a half off purge recently. I got a couple bottles but concerned about what that means going forward.
Knob 12 is probably my favorite findable bottle there is. I can never get it in the south, but oh boy is it on the shelf in NJ
Love every show Jason C! Let;a go KC12 ..... watching now.
Calumet 12yr is pretty good. I'd like to see how it holds up against JD12 and KC12.
Anybody have any info on what KC 12 batches are best? Don't even know what year this 1st started, but I know there is a bottling date on each bottle.
Good video,Thanks !
I have never tried the EW12 but thoroughly enjoy the KC12. Cheers
Great episode, and breakdown
I'm. Excited to see this match up!!
My brother and I did a similar taste test - Konb Creek 12 was our winner. Not absolutely amazing, but a great pick up.
nice comparison.

I’d love to compare the 1792 with the KC! Thanks for the review!
Needed to throw WT 12 in here
My favorite bottle is the Knob creek single barrel it’s just everything I want from a bourbon and it’s available and affordable.
I haven’t opened my KC12 yet, but will this weekend based upon this review
Where did you buy the 1792 12yr from ?
Knob Creek 12 is my jam. So good for the price and availability.
knob 12 is $48 bucks here and ive been buying the piss outa it
Rub it in! That is an awesome price. $69 when I can find it.
I've only ever seen Knob Creek 12 *two times.* One of those times it was 80 and the other time it was 120.
Where do you get KC12 for $48? $69 is the best I’ve ever seen
My local Target gets KC 12 and it's the best price I've ever seen at $62. Perhaps your place had it mismarked.
@@jasonczfan8658 nope, everyday price. 48 bucks, and 50 at the store a few miles down the road.
Glad I have a bottle of KC 12! Good blind brotha keep going!
Kc12 always delivers. Never tired of it, can find it. And can find it at good price.
I’m a fan over here now cause of @bourbonjunkies. Just wanted to throw that in here. Anyway, I’ve become a quick fan here, happily subscribed. I can’t wait to get some Knob 12. Cheers. Thanks for the sub. Dan and Sean are the greatest
KC12 is 59 in my area.... can't beat it
Love this idea 💡
I Bought EW 12 at the distillery last November and it was 149.99 plus tax. It lost in a blind that I did with it also !
Knob 12 continues to be my favorite bottle for the price!
Well…..2 more added to my list of “try to find”!!! Thanks Jason! 👍
Evan’s 1792 Knobs sounds like a great blend!😁🥃 Great triple bass, Jason🥃🥃
Great video
Enjoy seeing a regular shelf find taking down harder to find whisky! Keep this theme going with other age stated bottles. Would also be fun to see if younger age can take down older….
Love the triple Bass!!
How about an Amburana bourbon battle? Barrell, Starlight, RD One, Rio, etc whatever you have
KC12 is one of my all time favorites, that's why I have 9 of them. That being said, I do wish that it was about 110-120 proof.
Gotta try the full proof
Great match up Jason! That KC12 is a damn good value. You should put Wild Turkey 12 101 up against it. I think it would be an interesting head to head. Cheers!
Enjoy your videos. Keep up the awesome work. Cheers🥃🥃
Feels like Full Proof is the only 1792 special release I ever see in my area. I wish the others were more readily available. Good products for the price from what I've tasted.
1792 FP is a damn fine bourbon and a helluva steal at MSRP!
Just had 1792 12yr for the first time. I would put it right there with KC12 in the excellent category.
No real surprise here. Knob Creek just makes great whiskey.
Now if only the KC12 120 Proof was more available it might be my perfect bourbon.
I do like me some Knob 12 year!
Looks like someones been sending out some samples of that Heaven Hill Heritage 18yr. How does one get on that list? ;)
Still waiting on the Prideful Goat review! 😂😂😂. Love your videos!
Gonna guess KC12, 1792 then EW. Good comparison tho. Interested in learning about the cost differences.
Just helping the all go rhythm 🥁
Knob Creek 12 year SLAPS. I grab it as soon as I see one. I did not know 1792 even HAD a 12-year.
Cheers Jason 🥃 🪵 🥃
KC 12 is probably the only one available up here: thanks for the educational informative entertainment- as always 🤝
put the link to that italian cake please. I must try that
I’m feeding the algorithm for you!
Thanks man
Now you need a 12 Year battle with KC12, Weller 12 and Jack Daniels 12.
Jack would blow those out of the water. I actually think the weller 12 would come in last.
Well done Jason, KC12 might be the best value in bourbon.
My money was on Knob Creek. The spice of Even Williams scared me for a second though. lol Thank you for the comparison Jason.
French Oak Battle. Penelope vs. Nulu vs. Lucky Seven
Makers for the win!
I am always leery to put Jim Beam in blinds unless it’s up against other Jim Beam or Heaven Hill products.
With that said, Know Creek is kind of an exception, because I don’t get punched in face with peanut.
As soon as you called out the sweetness I guessed it was 1792. That bottle is so friggin sweet. Fat kid juice for sure.
Old Forester Barrel Strength Rye v Jack Daniels Barrel Strength Rye please
Done those three before and people called me crazy haha but KC12 won for me too
I will always have KC12 on my shelf! LOL
