    Anima also portrays her as a mother's regret and pain of seeing her son become the monster he is. The lower half being the birthed monster.

      @luanminitti1177 6 месяцев назад +1

      I like this. To add on, one could also argue that the top half is restrained because as much as a mother wants to hold her son’s hand and guide him through the end of life, she knows that ultimately her children will choose their own paths and likely a path distant from mom, which hurts her.

    I really love the concept and story behind the aeons in this game. And am I the only one who has come up with an own aeon? I think Leviathan would be an amazing addition, especially if you consider that water is the only element of the four elemental spells that does not have an aeon. And there are plenty of spots where a dark Leviathan battle could take place. Like Kilika forest, the lake in Macalania forest, maybe Baaj temple when visiting it a second time after obtaining Anima. Ahhh the possibilities

      You would think that with a game like FFX where the setting is in archipelagic world, there would be more elements related to water in play. It would have been cool if Leviathan was like a secret aeon you could obtain deep in the waters of spira...like maybe near where the ruins of the airship were
      But I think the reputation of Leviathan would give Sin a run for its money...maybe thats why it wasnt included in the game...

    Bahamut is a platinum dragon, not a dark dragon. He (in most D&D lore where he originates from as a dragon) sympathized with humans and protected them from Tiamut, who despised humans. That would be why Bahamut has the light motif, and why he helps Yuna and Tidus defeat Sin for good instead of continuing the process of the sacrificial religion.

    Valefor’s fayth is a young woman, and I choose to believe she was a mother before she became a fayth, perhaps having lost her child- a daughter, maybe, to an attack from Sin. Valefor is both protector and nurturer, evidences by both her fierce dragon imagery and the gentle nature with which she interacts with Yuna, who never got to know her own mother. It also fits as Valefor is the aeon from the island that raised Yuna after Braska’s death. Valefor as a mother enhances Yuna’s escape from the Bevelle wedding. Fitting that a surrogate mother be the one that saves her, setting aside that Valefor was her only aeon that could fly.
    Ifrit’s fayth well represents the island of Kilika. On Tidus’ boat trip from Besaid to Kilika, Sin attacks. Despite a summoner being on board, the crew did not hesitate to put themselves at risk to try to ward Sin off from Kilika. That fiery brashness is seen in Ifrit’s design, and I could easily see him being the Beast from which Kilika’s blitzball team honors with their name.
    Ixion’s fayth comes across as a messenger. On the fayth revisits, when he becomes visible, it looks like he’s doing some exercises to prepare for a run. His message to the party also references running- twice. He may have been tasked with carrying news across Spira on foot, given the dangers of the sea. No stronger symbolism of a runner than a lightning horse aeon- a notable, though not the first, departure from Ramuh as the lightning summon.
    Shiva is pretty straightforward for having been a priestess. She casts off her priestess shroud of her human form to show her inner strength and beauty. It’s no surprise that a priestess would offer to become a fayth. A lot about Shiva is probably shoehorned in as the series’ long-time ice summon.
    Bahamut’s fayth was always the most striking to me. You have to wonder what sort of spirit did that child have, what had he gone through that gave him such conviction not only to become a fayth but to become THAT aeon. Bahamut has innate break damage limit, making him unquestionably the strongest of the required aeons. For how aeons carry so much visual symbolism of their fayth, what gives this child such a powerful aeon? That may be a question best unanswered.
    Yojimbo may have been an unwilling fayth. He is “the blade of vengeance” whose name is only whispered. Yevon priests might have assumed that for as strong a warrior as a human, he’d be the strongest aeon- and they were right, for his ultimate ability, Zanmato, can one-shot even the uber-boss, Penance. However, if he was forced to become an aeon, this explains why he demands payment for his services. Anyone knowing that Yojimbo was forced into becoming an aeon would have reason to try to steal his fayth statue, maybe hoping for a way to free him. Notably, during the fayth revisits, he is the only aeon to appear facing the party. The other four appeared with their backs to Yuna.
    Anima is full of symbolism. Some items that weren’t mentioned: she has to literally be dragged into battle, perhaps to show us her reluctance to be part of Seymour’s plans. The two small arms by her head hold a chain across, not around, her neck. Her suffering is something she brings upon herself.
    As for the Magus Sisters . . . I got nothing for them.

    What did the summoners summon before there were fayth that dreamed aeons? Like what were they doing inhtge war 1000 years before ffx? Summoners became fayth as a last ditch effort to defeat the machina right? But how were they summoners before there was something to summon?

    • @danielramsey6141

      Considering Final Fantasy’s Long line of games and their histories. It’s more than likely that The Summoners we’re all gathered for the Ritual that Created Sin!
      The existing Summons at the time were probably Different Compared to what current Summons exist in the game.
      But what Makes these summons so interesting is that they (and SIN) are Dream-like Beings manifested into reality!
      It’s also should be remembered that Many Chosen People were Selected and Transformed into a Massive Fayth structure. This was probably ment to help with SIN at first. And afterward, possibly destroyed that Structure!
      Its only when SIN ran Wild did they have to change the Mission and Nature of That conglomerated Fayth. Instead making one that would continue the Ritual in order to Keep Zanarkand’s Memory alive. Basically Trapping any and all forms of Dream-like Beings in a Memory.

    So I have theorized that the faiths whom becomes Aaeons only occur when Sin awakens. Lord Zaeon lost his power as a faith long ago as of the time of Yuna and her party reaching Zanarkand. We learn the stories of the faiths as we go along. When Sin is defeated the souls sealed in the temple statues vanish, at least those of the main temples. When the calm is over and Sin comes back, new Faith volunteer and thus the cycle stars all over again. The faith must die to become an aeon, and Spira is the spiral of death.

    • @f2worldsX
      @f2worldsX  2 года назад +3

      I believe lord zaon lost his power as a fayth because he was absorbed by yu Yevon when he defeated sin 1000 years ago.
      The fayth in the game only vanished because Sin was defeated permanently. When the other high summoners defeated sin, yu Yevon survived and proceeded to absorb the final aeons of the high summoner. This was not the case with yuna, as they infiltrated sin to get to yu Yevon directly

      @@f2worldsX That’s a good point, I keep forgetting sun abosrbing the final Aeon. I stand by my theory, it’s also because I keep imagining a 10 prequel and of course if that would happen. Wouldn’t they bring new Aeons? Maybe shiva is replaced with Shivo from earlier games etc.

    • @xheralt
      @xheralt 2 года назад

      Lord Zaon wasn't made into a fayth. The figure shown in Zanarkand's ruined fayth is not recognizable as him, either to the party (who saw him in Seymour's sphere) or the player. Lord Zaon was the first of the faythless (temporary one-shot) FA summonings, just as was done with Jecht and Braska, using the process pioneered (?) by Yunalesca, possibly in communion with a (back then) still-coherent Yevon.

    • @Sharikacat
      @Sharikacat 23 дня назад

      Very early on, they may have been used by summoners to fight Sin to keep him away from cities. Each city would have had a resident summoner and fayth, though not one strong enough to defeat Sin. These are not Final Aeon-strength aeons, aside from Anima. Luca never needed a resident summoner and fayth to ward off Sin because Sin was always kept clear of that city to allow the people to have blitzball.

    Is it not speculated that the Magus sisters are Belgemines final aeon.
    I just think that would be more plausible since she guards them. Only the ones who prove themselves may correspond with their fayth. It feels like they are important to Belgemine. We already know Anima was Seymours final aeon. So it wouldn't be surprising.
    Although on the other why would the monster arena guy have the flower scepter/crest then. (I don't remember which he had)

    You kind of glossed over the Magus Sisters a bit, and say Mandy when it is actually Mindy. It should have been mentioned about the NPCs’ human appearance when you revisit their fayth. They look like random young women from maybe the calm lands or Besaid. A huge thing is the way they attack based on their choices you encourage them to do. Perhaps they were argumentative sisters and do the opposite of what’s instructed sometimes. A closer inspection of their aeon appearance would suggest they were knights of some kind? Maybe they were all strong warriors too. Did they have symbols that meant anything or a particular element like you described the rest? Anyway, good job on the rest, just kind of glossed over the sisters I feel.
