did not like the EIS for this camera.....it is not good. the rest seems to be acceptable for the price. Before the haters start talking about price, for what I need, stabilization is a must, therefore, even for a reasonable price and "meh" stabilization, I will pass. Good review by the way.
Hey man! Great review. Wanted to get your opinion on if I should make the leap and purchase the Brave 4 Pro. I was originally looking at getting the Brave 7 Le but it's a year old and the functions pretty much look the same (other than the Le being waterproof). What're you thoughts on this? This will be my first action cam.
Well as you see at the end there are more cons than pros in my opinion for this camera. I had the brave 7 le before but the microphone was to bad for me and ended up selling it. Depends on your budget and how much you wanna spend. I think the Akaso V50x is better than both of them still but it has no dual screen. Looking to get a dual screen?
@@Gersty I don't really mind not having the dual screen option. I'm planning on taking it hiking and taking scenic and POV shots. Budget's under $200, that's why I'm looking at these two. Any other recommendations?
@@jskmbtr Oh that sounds fun. I personally like the Akaso V50x for a low budget cam. The DJI Osmo Action and Gopro is always a good choice but pricey unless can find on sale or used. Might go on sale for the holidays. I'd rather have the Campark V40 or the XTU S3 over the Brave 7 le if I had to choose a budget dual screen camera.
@@jskmbtr the gopro hero 7 black is currently $199, which i think out performs all those budgets cams. Would last longer and can actually shoot at 4k 60fps.
Never had an overheating issue with my gopro 8, but heard newer ones overheat. I think some of the other Akaso cameras would be better than this model. Akaso v50x isnt bad in my opinion. Better video quality.
Problem I have with these cameras is they’ll add a new feature to make it look like a new GoPro but do a poor job of implementing it. Like the front selfie screen is only available on the latest GoPros, but the cheap camera has garbage microphone and still needs a waterproof housing to work in water when GoPro have not needed a housing since the GoPro 5
I agree, I would rather have more money put into better picture and video quality than gimmicks/ quality of life improvements which I will almost never use and aren't necessary
Id go with the Akaso V50x or Campark V30(currently half off on Amazon), they are both identical. Have good eis and video quality. No dual screen though.
On the side of the camera there is a button with the letter M on it. Hold that down for a few seconds and front screen will turn on. If waterproof case is on I think you should be able to turn it on still by just holding down the top silver button on the side. Hope that helps.
@@Gersty No ... pressing the upper button for a short period activates the playback mode for photos and videos ... and a long press activates the front screen .... that's it ... there is no change from shooting video to shooting photos from any buttons and this is a major defect ..... @@T_Ezzat sorry about that, totally misread the comment. I explained how to use front screen lol As for switching modes I don’t see a way to do that either. Nice review, bro....thanks for the elaborating, while i am looking for an action camera to do vlog on cars, is there any equivalent features of action camera like GO PRO, especially on more wider angle, clear resolution, or more intensifying features on other cameras, any suggested brands????
Hi, I have the same akaso than you , could you give me the reference of the external microphone. I tried some of microphones but they didn’t work. Thanks

Hi, two days ago I bought a V50x, but i noticed the 170 angle isn't really 170...is it only my camera? And i discovered that in 2k it's wider...is it normal?
I no longer have mine to look at but when EIS is turned on it does crop some of the video. You can check by turning off the eis at 4k and see if it gets wider, but most of the time that is normal.
Have bought the same camera, did not test it a lot, interestingly was unable to connect it to akaso apps. Was able to use it with a smartphone with apeman app instead. Funny. Also transferring the videos from SD card ( SanDisk extreme pro) to phone or laptop, videos in 4k or 2.7k were very grainy. Filming through apeman app and download it, was no problem viewing it on phone, tv or laptop.
Thanks for the cool review! 'been looking for a good/affordable action cam and this was on the list, but i guess your review helped me find it wasn't probably a good choice... Would you recommend any (below $100)?

Hi, thx for the review as I am considering a Brave 4 Pro. I was wondering if filming with a gimbal attached .(such as Hohem Steady Pro) would be able to stabilize this cam sufficiently without using EIS turned on ??. Or in conjunction with EIS on ?
