Im an Action Camera junkie, I have 13 to 14 Ive gotten in the last 1year and a half. Everything from Wolfang and XTU to DJI Action 4 and Insta 360 One RS and the Brave 8 is awesome. its no GO Pro 12, but it will do a great job for most anything. In fact, if you are just wanting to dip your toes in and see if action cameras are something you want to try, but the price of Go Pro or DJI is a bit much, then Brave 8 is an awesome starting point.
Thanks so much. I took a break because I was moving and started a new job. I am actually working on a review of the DJI Action 4 and will be producing content again starting in April. Thanks for watching.
I am lost with all these versions, I am after a decent action camera for scuba diving. The only issues is I only dive 4 times a year. This seems to be a decent spec for the money, I just need to convince the wife haha. Thanks for the review.
Great review. Im currently shopping for a new action camera and have an older Akaso that was bought for the kids. This may be the way to go as long as I can get accessories that will work with it. Thanks for doing this review!
Remember that the attachments are pretty standard. Also the camera comes with a ton of accessories including a cage and just about every attachment option you could think of. If you have standard "GoPro style" accessories many will work with the Brave 8.
I have a butt load of cameras, everything from Wolfang and XTU to DJI Action 4 and Insta 360 One RS and the Brave 8 is awesome. If the price of the go pros are a bit much, the brave 8 is a good choice. This review was on point
Thanks for your content. I just purchased an Akaso Brave 7 LE and a few accessories. (Currently waiting for them to arrive). Your videos sold me on picking one up, so for that - thank you. I’ve shot all of my content on smartphone rigs and am really looking forward to seeing what the Akaso has to offer. Again, many thanks for the content and helpful reviews. Looking forward to seeing more from your channel.
I was excited to see this review of an Akaso camera, unfortunately Im in Australia and on searching this up its actually no longer a budget camera as it costs up to $500. Might as well get a gopro
Great review! I was looking for the Akaso V50X but it looks like the latest version isn’t as good as the first one. What’s your choice between the latest V50X and the Brave 8?
Yes. But also the older GoPro models can be found for less now. Even back to the Hero 8 you can get great footage and nobody has better stabilization than GoPro.
Huh, no one mentions that you can not access the usb C socket when the camera is in its frame. I bought one for riding my motorcycle, expecting to be able to power it permanently or use the external microphone to avoid wind noise....no chance as you can't open the access flap when it's in the frame. A pretty poor design fault as there is an access hole in the right place....it just isn't quite wide enough. Having contacted Akaso, they replied and said I'm right and to remove it from the frame if I needed access to the usb C.....well duh.
Interesting. I suppose in most of my Used cases I never have a need for constant but your point is very well taken. It’s obviously easily corrected flaw..
So is this one better or worse than the hero 8 you recommended as the best budget option? If it's close, I'd rather just save the few bucks and get the hero 8.
That's a really tough call. Yes extremely close. My advantage to the hero 8 would be the ability to get hypersmooth processed on camera. Also I think vivid color on hero 8 is punchier and a bit more accurate. It's up to you. Very close.
I would lean towards the AKASO , the GoPro has heating and freezing issues. I have a Gopro 7 over heats , teammate has a GoPro 11 or 12 and has problems with it . I have the cheap AKASO Ek7000 and never had a problem. It records our softball games for over 4 hours straight.
Why do you slow the footage down, I want to see 'action' at high speed? why don't you go down a bumpy hill on a mountain bike, that would be a better test. I still don't know if this is what I need. I've already bought a cheap action camera and its frame rate is slow watching it back even though its supposed to be 60hz. I want to upgrade but unless I fork out for the most expensive I don't know what options there are.
Because everyone else does that. Literally hundreds of channels with a guy on a mountain bike shooting down a hill. I approach action cameras as a great “all around” alternative to a phone for everyone. Whether it’s a family vacation or a vlogger. My recommendation would be to find a used GoPro Hero 8. I STILL end up using it all the time.
I have the Brave 8 LTE and the audio is not as clear. Talking behind the camera sounds muffled, but talking in the front is better. I’m thinking of getting the Brave 8, which cost a bit more than the LTE. Excellent review.
I will tell you that audio behind the camera is still worse. Yes you are correct. However I thought it was for sure usable. In my use case scenario, I’m concerned much more with the front facing audio.
My brave 7 stopped connecting to my phone, they sent firmware, didnt work, mines currently being sent back for hopefully a replacement that works. (I did have it working then it didn’t)
Bruh I was looking at the video quality because my friend doesn’t want to spend a crazy amount of money on a real GoPro, and I was like “hopefully the brave 8 is like 129 bucks” I went on Amazon and it’s 400 dollars 😂😂😂 just buy a real GoPro at this poibt

Agree! Thanks for watching.
Excellent review. It was your video on the Brave 7 that made me go ahead with that purchase. Looking forward to seeing your upcoming content
Thanks so much!! That means a lot.
Thanks for the great review, mate. Akaso has sent me out a camera to review and your video has been helpful.
Just joined and love your style and thought process. I hope you haven’t quit !

Akaso ek7000 will do you proud. I have it and the v50x. It's an awesome camera.

Are you liking the camera?
@swissrolll Yea for budget cameras it
Is my favorite so far.
5:12 Driving,, handheld and one hand waving around... Hmm... I have questions... Do you have three hands?
Haha steering wheel and camera in the same hand 😅

battery? most review forget to review batt-usage. but thanks for informing us for the pro and cons man.👍
Great review! I was looking for the Akaso V50X but it looks like the latest version isn’t as good as the first one. What’s your choice between the latest V50X and the Brave 8?
I would recommend the Brave 8. There really is nothing I can complain about and I had a very poor experience with the V50X. Thanks for watching!
@@HeHasTheCamera thanks for the reply buddy!! Keep doing this amazing channel
This vs the akaso v50x. I dont mind saving more to get the brave 8 but if i can save a bit of money id go with v50x but i need second opinions
Hi, Can you do a compare between AKASO Brave 8 and DJI ? Which one do you recommend?
Yes actually that’s a great idea.
I have the brave 6 and brave 6 plus. Can you connect the external mic to these?
Not when it's in its frame
If you were to create e-bike riding videos, would you recommend this camera?
Yes. But also the older GoPro models can be found for less now. Even back to the Hero 8 you can get great footage and nobody has better stabilization than GoPro.

Would you go for the brave 8 or dji action 3? Looking to buy my first action cam!
Action 3 for sure
Is that at Dos Lagos?
Yes! It is. Thanks for watching.
Is it in 8 or 10 bit color ?
How long does the battery last and how many batteries are included?
2 batteries.
Which website is the right one. There seems to be two of them.
Sorry just saw this. Do you mean for Akaso? I’ve always used akasotech.com but you can get it on Amazon easier.
Looks good. Nice review.
Thanks for watching!
Is use completely without smartphone app possible?
No really. If you want the super smooth you have to upload the app and process it and then download it. Normal stabilization is not up to par.
@@HeHasTheCamera Thanks!

Nice camera for outdoor vlog
Yes. My only issue is overexposure in some situations and white balance seems to be off at times. But it’s a good camera.
great video as always - So Brave 8 at £240 or GoPro HERO10 black at £250?
At the same price Hero 10 Black. Brave 8 over Hero 8 but 9+ I would go with GoPro.
Dro 😢my akaso brave 8 isnot connect to phone... What can i do....
read manual book lol
My brave 7 stopped connecting to my phone, they sent firmware, didnt work, mines currently being sent back for hopefully a replacement that works. (I did have it working then it didn’t)
