If you're a Christopher Reeve fan I'd recommend Superman secret origins and Superman Brainiac. Gary Frank draws a great likeness. They make great jumping on points for fans of the Donner Superman. I'd also like to mention Superman Secret Identity as a grear elseworlds story.
Great video, have a few thoughts. Firstly, while All Star Superman is an undeniable masterpiece that so perfectly shows so much of what makes Superman great, I do think newcomers should read a few other Supwrman books first. All Star Superman is basically a theoretical "final Superman story", imagining what that would look like and a celebration of Superman's rich history. For someone just getting into Superman, the book can be very confusing. I say this because it happened to me. Secondly, I would have ro highly recommend Superman: For All Seasons to anyone interested in Superman. It's my favorite comic of all time and captures not only the essence of Superman, but the important characters around him like Pa Kent and Lex Luthor. It showed me how important Clark's time in Smallville is to the character as a whole. Absolute masterpiece in my opinion.
1. Superman Doomsday and Beyond by Louis Simonson 1:20 2. All Star Superman 2:05 3. Superman smashes the Klan (2019) 2:45 4. Greatest Superman stories ever told 3:35 5. Crisis on Infinite Earth 4:20 6. Kingdom Come 5:12 Honourable Mention: Issue #1 Man of Steel by John Brun 6:42 7. Superman Red Sun (elseworld) 7:30 8. Superman by Grant Morrison 8:25 9. Superman's Metropolis (elseworld) 8:50 10. Flashpoint by Geoff Johns 9:34 11. Death of Superman 10:50 12. Return of Superman 10:55
I would say the whole Byrne run. Really the MoS mini is just a truncated origin and not great on its own. When he takes over Action and relaunches the Superman title it gets really good… some suggestions I would add to your list is For All Seasons and for an Elseworlds, The Nail.
I would have to disagree about flashpoint being a faithful adaption. The fact that cyborg, the Shazam family, and an actual Thomas Wayne batman aren’t present really says something. Not to mention the fact that an actual reverse flash isn’t in the movie or the flashpoint versions of Aquaman and Wonder Woman. I feel that there is just to much missing even just on a character level to say that it’s a faithful adaption. The general plot beats are really the only somewhat similar thing and even then it kinda falls off in the later half. But other than that great list. Personally I would add Superman for all seasons, and the current Mark Waid and Dan Mora worlds finest run.
Yeah saying that The Flash movie is a faithful adaptation of Flashpoint is a wild stance. It just takes the basic premise of “what if Barry saved his mom?” and does its own thing with it
Excellent points, I appreciate that insight. I love the flashpoint book it’s just crazy to me how bad that movie is with such interesting source material
What up Guy,... There is a vault of Midnight 🌌 around the block from my job on Grand Blvd, they are so awesome ___ a hip , cool, smart vibe in that place ( and im old, lol)
If you’re talking about the series by Mark Waid that started a few years ago, it’s great. And it deals a lot with the larger DC universe, not just Superman and Batman and has actually made me a fan of some characters that I’d never really read much about before like Metamorpho, who is set to appear in James Gunn’s Superman.

Great list. Peace on Earth is an all time favorite of mine.
Happy to have found an awesome fairly new comic channel! You’re great can’t wait to see what comes for the future of your channel.
Thank you so much! That’s so kind
Love the Alex Ross art in the background.

What about superman for all seasons
Not a superman story but I recommend strange adventures, loved Mr Terrific in that
There is also a comic book store called J&T Comics in Saint Clair Shores Michigan!

No Superman Birthright? No For All Seasons???
is World's Finest good in your opinion?
Unfortunately I haven’t read it! But I’ve heard good things generally
