Superman is like a cultural phenomenon, I'm from a Muslim country where access to comics and movies was very limited for poor people like me. But still even I have watched superman when I was a child. I still get the nostalgic feelings from that 70s movie. I didn't even know MCU existed tbh till I watched Iron man.
Last 10 years?? 😆 Uh no. WB/DC has been like this for the whole 2000s. Hell you could write a movie about the whole Superman 2006 movie development hell, Goyer Flash, GL 2011, Justice League Mortal. So many false starts and failures
12:24 WTF Snyder actually told people he had a complete cut ready to be released? What date was this time stamp from? Please tell me it was before Warner Discovery greenlit SZJL on Max? Wow. Dude, this is an excellent compilation of the sequence of events. It must have taken a while to go through all those sources. I'm impressed. I've been attempting to do it myself, and it's hard. Subscribing.
Henry Cavill needs a new agent DESPERATELY. He announces his return only to be publicly humiliated and fired. I’m not a Snyder fanatic, I’m just watching this thing devolve and I feel bad for Henry.
I get the impression that whatever was going on with DC films, it was coming all the way from the top. Snyder wasn't to my taste either, but he did what he was asked to do in good faith, he delivered his vision of a DC universe. To my mind, it's whoever heard his pitch and said, "That's exactly what we need!" that's responsible. The problems at WB started long before Snyder was hired, and continued well after they fired him.
This in an amazing analysis and worthy of a platform bigger than RUclips!! Well done 🙌 Sad to see Snyder go, loved his style of bringing graphic novels to life and Henry broke my heart after being fired, but, in light of the massacre WB did to the DCEU, we gotta have hope for a more cohesive albeit very different future for DC 🤷
Lol so you enjoyed it when they added that scene that makes the Flash super unlikable and creepy af? Bro slows down time to creep on the ladies so they don't know what he did but that's good to know that you enjoyed that.... Eyeahhhh... They add a scene where cyborgs dad kills himself in order to not give the enemy info... Which they learn anyways and it's not like it was special info that oh I dunno, super man or the flash or batman and his world wide tech connections couldn't have done by themselves but whatever, isn't the first time snyder killed a dad for no good reason lulz. It's longer too. Movie is already bad and you made it longer so I would suffer more. Lol this is good to you? Did you also enjoy joker talking to batman about rape? What's wrong with you? Convince me you have a brain please. I'm 100% sure you got s for brains lolz.
I agree DC has some big hurdles to clear, but Marvel isn’t the unstoppable force it once was. They have had 5 years where maybe 1-3 movies a year actually made a profit. Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Deadpool & Wolverine are the only ones doing numbers like they were before 2019
100% all it did was just make them much worse and the fact that snyder refuses to condemn them (even after they review bombed GvK) really says alot about snyder and his cultist.
DC will forever be uber tribalist. Too many versions of their characters don't bring people together. Some will succeed, and some won't. Some will receive more love, others more hate. But the DC fandom will never be united.
I don't know. We comic and movie nerds can be tribalist, but at the end of the day, we're a noisy minority. We only think we're the whole fandom because we're all talking in an echo chamber. Outside, most people really don't care. As an old school comics fan, I find these characters tend to thrive on reinvention. Look at how much people love both Michael Keaton's Batman, and Christian Bale's Dark Knight. They couldn't be more different. And then, Pattinson comes along looking nothing like either, and people love him too. It's not the many versions of the characters that I think people object to. Casual fans don't need consistent ongoing continuity. In fact, I suspect too much dependence on continuity is killing these franchises. Most people don't want to have to do homework, they just want a good movie that leaves them satisfied. Most of these movies, from both DC and Marvel, aren't even giving them that, because they're too busy picking up where the last one left off five years ago, and then promising that the next will be the one to pay off the story. I don't think this new Superman movie is going to succeed because it's true to comics, or it's launching an exciting new franchise. It will live or die on one thing, does it tell a good story that leaves the audience satisfied.
give snyder some horror or crazy dark movies. superhero movies just not suitable. a hero suppossedly bright and give hope to others, not some gloomy dark. well maybe batman is dark, but superman is not
Snyder is an insecure dude that hyper macho cooled his universe and it turned people off. yes he film like a genius but his characters and storytelling is a little shallow and doesn't stand up after 2 viewings
Is there a snyder cut? Yes, there is! Proceeds to shoot, reuse and reshoot scenes just to come out with the same plot Snyder has lied to his fans and yet somehow they eat his stool
I'm new to your channel and have to say this was an excellently produced video! The common denominator of DC's string of misses verses hits is WB and they're inability to put quality in front of quantity to catch up with the MCU. Snyder was the wrong choice to be the architect of this shared universe. His films are about spectacle not character and when they are, they're almost unrecognizable to their comic book inspirations. And all of WB's attempts at course correction led to the whole thing imploding with The Flash. Then Gunn comes in, who I've never enjoyed as a director, "reboots" the DCEU (except for what he wrote) and now we're in a similar mess before this new cinematic universe has officially started. WB has killed almost all the goodwill for these characters and Gunn isn't the one to restore it because he's put his ego first by not completely resetting the table. And that's why this new The DCU will fail: it shares too much DNA, meaning characters and plotlines with the failure of the Snyderverse and the DCEU as a whole. And what a shame because the potential, at one time, was limitless. Now there's just hope against hope, they can pull out a great film. Mess.
I love what you said at the end I have the focuses on Superman. To me personally, it’s about the DC IPs. I did not start reading comics because I loved the artist or the writer first. I first loved Superman, WW, Batman… I think it’s a good thing with social media for fans to voice their opinions, what they love and what they don’t. It keeps the creators and the studio exec in check. But when it comes to comic book IPs, it should be about the characters. I am standing with you of hoping that DC will be free from studio, reactionary decisions, and have the characters be celebrated with great storytelling and amazing visuals!
Gunn's toilet humour ruined MCU.... and now it goes after DC, lmao HOLD my bear, it's gonna be a ride, Godzillah vs Superman in bleeding diaper, both studios goin hyper woke doesn't helps none of them, DC losing dark theme... and turning into goofy LGBT fiesta with "Harley Fartacular" stuff

Ty, ty, much appreciated 🙏
Great job with the storytelling! It’s almost like a documentary. The editing with the sound effects and music is really well done! Subscribed!
I dont know if Superman is going to be good but Gunn has earned my benefit of the doubt
The quality of this video is amazing, Keep up the good work!

Giving gunn the job was their best decision. No more synderverse. It all sucked
Wonder Woman was about 2/3rds a pretty great movie. Though I fear that's damning it with faint praise.
Wow! Thank you everyone for the awesome and kind comments. Definitely more to come.

At least we always have the DCAU good times from that beautifully written masterpiece.
I miss DcAu l Loved Batman and superman animated series 😢😢😢😢😢 miss those days
WB shouldn't have never trusted Snyder. He can make a scene look amazing, but he can't make a cinematic universe with a good story.
Yeah, he’s got the originality of a 9 y/o. Boom, punchy, smashy, kill bad guy.
this was a seriously excellent vid, adding it to my comic video essay playlist, great job!!!

WBD should not do any live action movie til 2035 too much hate on the DC brand
The movie has until July to get people to know what is happening
Not possible for DC
Dc.comics movies and TV shows did not have a problem in the 1930s until now
