Thank youuuuuu
Ocean Flower Oh gosh, it’s the front that looks full and thick but I still have a bald spot where it’s thin at the back. Much better now though thanks to the Rogaine!
Thank yiu
There’s no reason that it won’t absorb into your scalp or dry if you put it on in the evening /before bed. You may want to give it 20-30 minutes to dry before bed but it works just the same as in the day... dermatology nurse here.
Thanks for the tips! I usually hit my bed literally 1 minute after my night routine so that doesn't work for me plus I'm more tired and forgetful, but that's a good point, thanks for weighing in! I'm sure your comment will help lots of people! :)
Yes! I told my dermatologist I didn’t like that rogaine made my hair feel sticky and he suggested I put it on at night and rinse it out in the morning :)
@@ariesa9751 just wash your hair in the sink

Wow Dánae from the Bay: do you have a channel? I scared about using this stuff but if it works that would be great
I'm 62and Native American turning VERY gray. Now I'm losing my hair in the back and temples. It's really gotten thin. Thanks for the info, I was crying before I found you. My hair has always been VERY long, to see it leave me absolutely terrified me.
Oh Nancy, I feel your pain. I too had a huge thick head of hair and it's painful when it goes, it really is. Don't cry, we'll get through this together! I have lots more content about hair loss and products so I hope you'll hang around for it, I make new videos every week! Thank you for leaving a comment :)
When the levels of estrogen and progesterone drop, hair grows more slowly and becomes much thinner. A decrease in these hormones also triggers an increase in the production of androgens, or a group of male hormones. Androgens shrink hair follicles, resulting in hair loss on the head.
My advice is to discuss that with the gyne doctor for hormonal replacement therapy.
Imagine being 16
I had waist-length hair until my hair got really thin at 60. All of a sudden, my hair just fell out. I still miss my long hair. Minoxidil grew enough hair back that I don't feel embarrassed to go outside, but I still have to wear it very short.
Yay, I’m so happy I found your channel!! I am about to start rogaine so I’m gonna binge your videos! Thanks a bunch for sharing your journey and tips!! ☺️
Yay, hope they help! :)
You look very young! I’m 28 and my hair loss started when I was 26. Took literally a year to see my derm and my biopsy results were inconclusive and labs came back normal other than low ferritin of 28. My derm wants me to start rogaine and derma roll. I’m afraid of commitment :(
Im 30! I have diffuse thinning from a recently diagnosed auto immune condition. I was told it’s tellogen, not alopecia. I’m seeing new growth at the top from the vitamins I’m taking but it’s been a full year since the shedding and the crown is barely budging! I was told to use rogaine 6 months ago... doctors said i wouldn’t need to use it forever bcuz my underlying condition isn’t alopecia.... finally starting... I’m terrified to lose more hair in the first few weeks. The back is so thin 😣 Love that I found u!
Thanks Nancy! I'm wishing you all the best whether you go for the Rogaine or not! :)
I didn't lose any additional hair when I started. You may not.
I feel for women who are losing there hair since for women hair is so important so blessing to all the lady’s and their hair.
I’ve ordered my first rigs in product thanks to you :) my moms losing hair due to menopause and I’m going through a lot stress. My hair falls in chunks and my scalp is worst than my moms.
This is video is super informative I’m so thankful for this hair problem(not loss) community. 🖤
You're welcome! I wish you luck! :)
I was so nervous about starting minoxidil but after watching this, it helped ALOT and I finally used it! Can’t wait for my results 🥰
You got this!
is it true that you have to consistently use it or else your hair will fall out if not using it? by the way, you’re a life saver because i’m 18 & experienced hair loss from stress. my dermatologist recommended this to me, however didn’t explain anything about it ! after experiencing shedding, i started freaking out & am so glad i found this channel to help me!
Hi Elena! Yes, that's true. Not ALL your hair falls out, just the ones that the Rogaine helped to grow, does that make sense? So you have to stay on it. Sorry you're going through this! You're welcome, please keep me up to date on your journey! :)
Depends on the person. One girl on youtube hair didn't fall out. Other comments I read said that they didn't experience that.
You’re so young to have so much stress; and I can tell you that it causes a lot of hair loss. Use Rogaine, also research vitamins and use them together; at least you won’t have additional stress from that.
Hey girl, I’m also 18 and going through the same thing!:/ have u seen any results ?
@@lauraahargreaves7783 age has exactly zero relation to stress levels. Vitamins "for hair loss" can cause gastrointestinal issues that topical treatments do not, which could absolutely exacerbate stress levels.
I'm in my second month of using Rogaine. First month, a lot of shedding took place. Now, in my second month, I'm having serious itchiness on my scalp, neck , chest, as well as swollen eyes. The eyes have subsided significantly but not fully. I'm not sure what I should do.This really sucks. I'm asking myself a lot of questions. Should I lessen the dosage? Will my eyes get back normal? Is it all worth it? Should I continue the treatment? Sigh 🤦🏻♀️
Hi! This is something you'll want to ask your healthcare provider, or at the least call the hotline that Rogaine provides to ask. I'm sorry you're going through this, sounds painful. When I was a teen I used to have this reaction to benzoyl peroxide acne products. I stopped because it's scary to get swollen eyes. Wishing you the best. Let us know how you get on.
@@HelenAvery After some soul searching yesterday, I've decided to discontinue using Rogaine. I don't think it's suitable for my climate or my lifestyle. All my problems started when I spent an entire morning working in my garden, in the hot sun. The itchiness was unbearable when I was working out too. Thinning hair has always been my one insecurity. This experience has given me a great lesson. As much as I would love to have more hair, I wouldn't sacrifice my health and doing the things I love for it. In addition to the side effects mentioned, I also noticed drying of my skin and discoloration of my nails and a general not feeling like myself. I was aging and poisoning myself , I think. Health and time are two precious commodities I'm not willing to sacrifice for hair. And hey, there are always wigs right? Thank you so much for sharing your experiences and replying to me. I really appreciate it ❤️😊🙏🏼
Sounds like an excellent decision. Best wishes to you ❤️❤️❤️
Do you use the liquid or the foam? The liquid is a lot more problematic because it takes hours to dry. It also has a chemical in it that is irritating to the skin, which the foam does NOT have. The liquid contains the same chemical that's in anti-freeze for cars!
I just started losing my hair at 20 years old due to pcos. My dermatologist recommended Rogaine so i figured i’d give it a try. I subscribed to you and definitely look forward to more videos. Right now i’m using Organix biotin and collagen shampoo and taking collagen multivitamins. I’m worried that I’m going to keep losing hair:( This video was very helpful though, thank you so much!
I’m so glad I found your comment! I’m 24 with pcos and my hair has started falling off. I’m scheduling an appt with a dermatologist. It’s definitely not the best feeling. I hope everything goes well for you, and just wanted to let you know, you are not alone 💜

Really!? That's awesome! I'm considering going down to a maintenance dose pretty soon. Gosh yeah, that stuff adds up so it's always nice to find a way to lower the cost! Thanks for leaving a comment!
@@HelenAvery Yeah, I use it for my entire head so it takes 1hr or so to apply 😂
Did you start off using it every other day, or did you gradually go down?
How long before you went to every other day?
@@SausageMunchingNinja when I first started, I used it everyday. Then when I was happy with seeing my new baby hair growing thicker and more, I used it every other day. Now I'm just using it like 3 times a week and I'm not shedding or losing large amount of hair. Note: I've been using rogaine for 10 months now
Your hair looks really great!
Thank you so much, Terri! I was having a rare good hair day in this video, haha! :)
Why would you regret paying for something that works! It’s awful losing hair when your a woman. I have used it in the past and am starting up again. It did help with filling in my temple area.
I want to start but I’m really worried about the shedding at the beginning :(
Thank you. I will be applying for the first time tomorrow.
I went to my dermatologist and I asked about my hair and she said that it looked good and saw my roots and said that it was fine and she ran her fingers through my hair and saw how much hair comes out and she said that it was fine and normal but that I’m that one that knows my hair best and when I hold my hair it does feel less so I’m just hoping that it’s not bad considering what she told me and she said that I could give rogaine a try. For some reason I have been shedding a lot and when I brush my hair and show my mom or sister they say that that’s how much comes out for them and that I’m just being paranoid but it’s just that it does feel less. Maybe I’m just harming myself mentally and overthinking this too. But thank you for your video and the wonderful information you gave ❤️
She did say I might be a bit anemic though
We all have those stretches where we think we're losing a ton of hair, so hopefully she is correct. You're welcome, I hope you stay tuned...I do shampoo reviews too these days. Take care, Nayan :)
you should get a blood test if you haven't already because being deficient in certain vitamins and minerals can cause a lot of hair loss.

I’m not so much worried about the beginning phase where there’s a lot of reports of hair shedding as a result of hair going through it’s cycle before growing once again, I’m really nervous about the hair not growing back afterwards. I guess I’m just looking for reassurance before beginning the treatments
Hi Lauren, thanks for leaving a comment. I hear you. It's a risk, isn't it? The way I chose to look at it was either it worked (great!) or it didn't but if it didn't, I would have still been upset either way. And it did work, so I got lucky!
I didn't loose hair at the beginning.
@@daughteroftheking2200 you were losing it before?
Love it!! I’m not sure that logic is right about absorbing better on dry hair. This is what I know about skin. Dermatologists recommend that lotion for dry skin/eczema should be applied within 3 minutes of showering for best absorption. Who knows? I wouldn’t put in on wet hair. But wondering if it would absorb better when damp as opposed to dry. Food for thought. I think you’re wonderful!! And I can’t wait to watch them all!
Hi Laurie! I thought that they tell you that so that you can put a barrier over the moistness to seal in some moisture before it evaporates? That was my understanding of eczema. We need to page a derm over here, lol! Thanks for leaving this thoughtful messsage! :)
Shrimpy McGee Good one! That makes so much sense. I would have always wondered so thanks for answering my comment. 👍
I read a few years back (before there was foam) to be sure to get the liquid only on the scalp partings, not waste it on the hair strands. That's hard to do with the foam. Do I just put the foam against my scalp and rub it in, not worrying so much about hair partings? Thanks!
Hi Christy, that's still true. Yes, exactly what you say is how I do it. I just get it on the scalp, I never make those perfect hair partings you see in the instructions.
That's why I quit the foam. I couldn't seem to apply it and not get it all over my hair. I much prefer the liquid as it's so much easier for me to apply.
My hair looks incredibly greasy after I apply, is that normal? And also is there a way to make it not look so greasy? I’m currently using the woman’s rogaine foam.
You are probably using too much Rogaine, it will make the hair look yucky, dirty.
If you are experiencing sore scalp especially when shampooing, warm water hurts your scalp... this was me at first.
I use Men's Rogaine and I was using 2xdaily. Dermatologist said to only use in the morning.
You may not have enough hair to absorb the excess foam. That's my problem, even though I only use half the recommended amount. So I put it on in the evening and wash my hair in the morning.
Oh , one more thing . Can you recommend a good shampoo that can be used with minoxidil ? Thank you .
Viviscal makes a nice shampoo for thickening, if that's your goal. I treat myself to Kerastase Bain Satin 1 but it costs a fortune... a decent drugstore version of this is L'Oreal's Extraordinary Oil shampoo...www.cvs.com/shop/l-oreal-paris-elvive-extraordinary-oil-shampoo-prodid-1014954

Does the hair stay when you stop using Rogaine or do you have to keep using it forever
Hi! You gotta keep using it, that's the tradeoff! Otherwise Rogaine says it will fall out :(
Do you have any tips for the actual application process (making sure it gets to the roots) for people with long hair? A lot of times I feel like I'm not sure if I'm actually getting to the roots or just smothering my hair in rogaine. And then do you have any tips on how to get the rogaine feel out of hair when it doesn't just get on the roots? Thanks!
Hi, I'm new to your channel and wishing you must success! One suggestion.... I think your content is great but I find you very wordy. Sometimes it's better to get to the point without being repetitive and adding additional information. I find myself fast forwarding to get to the main point..
Just my opinion And again much success.
does minoxidil also help your hair grow longer in length?
Wut, why is it so expensive over there? I just bought three bottles for for 36 EUR including shipping here in Germany.
Hi. I’ve been using Minoxidil for 8 weeks, and I noticed that I have unwanted facial hair growth below my eyes, cheeks, and forehead, so I immediately stopped using it. I stopped using it for a week now. Is this temporary or permanent? And how many weeks will it take for the unwanted hair to fall out?
It’s because it drips onto parts of your face or you touch your hair then your face. You MUST wipe your face off after using this. I had the same problem so started washing my face right after the rogain dried and after a few weeks the hair fell out and went away
I'm on month 4 of rogaine and I don't think it's making a difference. I have two more bottles and I think I'll stop (unless I start seeing improvement). I just keep telling myself that my hair will magically grow back one day on its own. I've been taking saw Palmetto for about 9 months now and I feel like it helps with making my hair fall out less. Unexpectedly, it also stopped my monthly hormonal acne.
That's a bummer that it doesn't seem to be doing anything. That makes sense that you'll stop after your remaining bottles. Maybe take a photo now and take a photo then (standing in the same spot/light conditions) and then you'll really be able to tell. The whole hair loss thing is so frustrating. Good to hear about the Saw Palmetto, and stopping the acne is a serious awesome bonus! Thanks so much for keeping me up to date with how things are going. I appreciate your honesty and your thoroughness! :)
Hope Woody did you find your hair gets caught in the roller? I bought one but it kept pulling on my hair
@@hopewoody794 Thank you for suggesting it. I'm going to try! How long did it take before you started noticing the hair growth?
Hi Vindi, I have the same problem and I'm thinking about taking Saw Palmetto too. I read that it helps to block DHT, which actually causes androgenetic alopecia. Good to hear that you have good results with this treatment. Could you tell me where do you buy Saw Palmetto? Can I buy it on Iherb? And one more question, what dosage did you take ? Good luck with Rogaine. I'll be very thankful for your reply :)
This may be a stupid question but can you use Rogaine with colored hair? If so, do you skip using it on the day you dye your hair? Does it affect the hair dye color? I have very dark brown hair. Thank you all.
Hey, great video! I’ve watched a bunch of videos on using Rogaine and midoxidle for eyebrow and eyelash growth. Glad I found this before I start using it.
Thanks, lady! I've heard for eyebrows but not eyelashes. I've seen it work on some people but haven't tried the eyebrows yet!
After washing hair, rubbing Rogaine into scalp....can I put my regular styling products over the Rogaine to style hair? Root volumnizer and volumnizer moose? Thanks so much! Great info..😊
You can! Give the Rogaine a bit of time to sink in and absorb. Everyone's absorbtion rate seems to be a bit different but 10 mins usually works for me. I just do something else in my routine like makeup or grab a coffee, and then come back to it :)
Hi there! So glad I found you! Can you please do a video on what type of hardware brushes you recommend for people with hair loss? Good or bad ones! Thank you.
Thank you for your videos. I started Rogaine about 2 weeks ago. Most of the videos I see talk about applying to targeted areas like balding spots. I don’t have that but rather generalized thinning over the whole top of my crown from ear to ear. So I apply generally all over rather than along a part line or bald spot. Still just half cap full. but now I’m wondering if this will be effective for my kind of thinning, or if half capful is enough. Do you have any insight?
You're welcome, Dawn! I often apply it generally too, seeing as I rub it in anyway once I drop it. Seems to work the same for me whether I am very targeted or kind of dispersed. But I understand what you're saying...does it work for diffuse hair loss and my understanding is yes, it does. And yes, that amount is what they say to use so I would say stick with it! :)
Can you dye your hair ? Did you stop using it ? Any side effects ?
you can dye it!
Please answer my question! I want to get pregnant but i have androgenetic alopecia. If i use rogaine for very long time then stop using jt to get pregnant. Will all my hair i gained with rogaine fall out after 9 months? And what can i use instead of rogaine to help my hair stay the same?
Hi! I'm not a doctor or healthcare professional and I have no experience in this realm, so I'm afraid I can't give you an answer to these specific questions. I'm wishing you good luck, please let us know if you get an answer! Thanks for leaving a comment!
You aren't supposed to use minoxidil if you are of child-bearing age. Also, yes, you will lose the hair you gained if you stop using it. I tried reducing the amount I use and my hair fell out again.

i've been using minoxidil for three weeks and i experienced increase hair shed. how long will the shedding last? im a bit scared because the amount of hair i lost is insane.
Hi! Oh gosh, sorry to hear that. I never experienced this myself but everyone says that it's normal and it's all hair that was going to fall out anyway, and you will get fresh new growth. I haven't heard anyone say it fell out and that was that...it didn't work at all. Everyone says it grew in but took time for the shedding to stop, I don't have an exact timeline but definitely from what I've read and heard, it was longer than two weeks. If you're quite worried it's something else, definitely contact your health care practitioner about it.
This is what the Rogaine site says "ROGAINE® products stimulate hair follicles to shift from the resting phase to the growth phase. Thus, it is not uncommon to see a temporary increase in shedding during the first 2 weeks using ROGAINE® products. This occurs in some people as the new hair pushes out the older hairs, when the hair follicle shifts into the growth phase. It is very much like losing baby teeth to make room for adult teeth. This increase in shedding is only temporary and should subside within a couple of weeks with continued treatment. Please note, however, if increased shedding continues for longer than 2 weeks, you should consult your doctor to rule out other possible medical problems."
Good luck to you!
It took six weeks for my shedding to slow down
Thanks for sharing! I hope this helps people! :)

If you don’t have hair loss but you just have thin fine hair will Rogan make it thicker?
Hello dear. Do I have to shampoo my hair daily or can I just rinse my hair with only warm water daily. Then shampoo once a week. Thank you.
You don't even have to rinse, as long as you can deal with the residue
What if I don’t have any hair loss? What if I want to put it on specific places on my head where I want hair to show up?
I'm not sure! But I will tell you that people use it to thicken their eyebrows and they say it works. Let me know if you try this route (but maybe check with Rogaine first, they have a good website and even a hotline for questions. They'll probably tell you it's not indicated to be used for that, though.) Let us know! ;)

Hi! Quick question for you. I'm new to Rogaine and I wash my hair every morning before work then blow dry my hair (in attempt to fluff it up and make it look fuller). Should I apply the Rogaine right when I get out of the shower when my hair is damp, or after I blow dry? Thanks!
Hi! After you blow-dry is best! (but it works on damp hair too, if need be! It's really about the scalp absorbancy more than the hair, in my experience)
I washed few of your videos some time ago. I would like to ask you? Do you use man's Rogane liquid 5% or the 2%. Or Do you use the foam?
I have been using women's Rogane foam twice a day, directed by my dermatologist and unfortunately I realized he was a fiasco.
Please let me know if is there in the market any other product less expensive similar than Rogane?

i get hair loss from a thyroid disorder, and , I think, old age. Would minoxidil work for hair loss caused by thyroid disorders?
Hi Debra! Check with your doctor, and you can also call Rogaine's free hotline or message them ;)
What if I stopped and I lost a lot of my hair ....now I’m going back on it....will my hair come back?
Hi Pauline, so I've heard mixed things about this from other women. Some say yes, when you use it again it works, and some say it does not work...probably because everyone is different with different underlying causes of hair loss. I know that's not a straight answer but that's what I've heard. Hope that helps a bit! :)

That's a question for a doc or pediatrician, I'm afraid. Sorry I can't help more!
How many percent of minoxidil do you use? I read that women is 2% and men is 5%.
Hi Carol! I use 5%. The women's comes in 5% as well www.rogaine.com/products/womens-hair-regrowth-solutions/womens-foam/312547780223.html (however, I use the men's) I made a video on the differences between Men's and Women's Rogaine: ruclips.net/video/FusmS1P_urY/видео.html
Hey, just a quick question, if I work out everyday, I’m afraid it will sweat down my face and I’ll grown a peach fuzz, so would I have to shower everyday so that doesn’t happen to me?
Hi! No, I don't think so. You could also wear a sweatband, that's what I do in the summer! But I haven't heard anyone say this happens to them. You could wash your face after. :)
Please do a tutorial on the way u did ur makeup too! It looks fire! Btw, THANK U for making these videos about rogaine. I am a 33 year old mom of 2, and I never thought I would have thinning hair on my head and extra hair on my chin until I was in my 50s. I can pluck the chin hair, but the thinning hair has lead me here! #hairJourney
Oh and I have a perm in my hair, can I still use rogaine?
You should get your hormones checked if you haven’t. Unwanted hair on chin and thinning hair on head is seen due to testosterone hormones. I am no expert. But that's what happened to me.
@@lamisarahman7321 Did you get the testosterone under control, and if so, what was used to balance it (if you don’t mind my asking…. I’m dealing with extra hair on chin and very thinning hair on crown).
When you started using Rogaine, did you get headaches? I've just started and am experiencing a few headaches. Wonder if its due to this? I live in india and am using minoxidil 5%. Brand name Morr.
Hi Anjali, no I didn't--but I've heard of that side effect. Best to check with a doctor or pharmacist, or even Rogaine's website. Good luck and thanks for the comment :)
Hey anjali did you notice hairfall in starting?
@@jahanvisharma347 yes its falling like crazy.
@@jahanvisharma347 but I'm continuing. Fingers crossed
The headache is due to increased blood flow towards the scalp area after using minoxidil

Hi Helen I live on an island in Texas and it's hard to get the women's mousse so I got the men's solution 5%. Should I use it? Or am I going to make a mess and maybe even grow unwanted hair on my face, neck, and ears? I haven't even opened it and I don't even know what the consistency is. I need it but I'm kind of scared. My hair loss is at the hairline and my temples, and it is thinning all over. Thanks!

Hi I’m new to Rogaine
I bought Men’s rogaine instead of women’s. Is there a big difference? Will I be doing more damage then good?
Mostly everyone I know (including me) uses men's, not women's. I made a video about the difference: ruclips.net/video/FusmS1P_urY/видео.html Good luck to you! :)
Why men’s instead of woman’s ?
@@krystinamaleyonok7357 It's cheaper and it's the same product. I know that's hard to believe, but the labels make it clear. As does Rogaine too, they never imply that they are different formulas.
What do you prefer the mousse or the drops?
My temples are full of hair because of Rogain
Oh good! I've been experimenting on my hairline and it seems to be working! :)
I only wash my hair about twice a week. Is the buildup of rogaine a concern do you think?
Hi Martha! I think it's fine if you feel it's working! If you feel the Rogaine is not working, then you could try washing more frequently. I hope that helps. Thanks for leaving me a comment! Hugs!
Also... do you have any thoughts on Red Light cap? I just got one which I’ll use daily for 6 minutes. Really hoping it’s not harmful!
Sorry martha, only seeing this now! I have avoided it because of the price, did you have any luck with it?
@@HelenAvery All good. For the past two months I've been doing everything:
-PRP
-Laser Cap
-Rogaine
-Vitamins/ supplements to promote hair growth
- I just started giving myself a daily head massage too, to stimulate growth.
Honestly, my hair has never been worse, but I'm not giving up yet... I'm totally prepared to wait at least 6 months. I know that it takes time. And I also just got out of (hopefully) the most stressful time of my life. So I know that's a large part of why it's so bad.
****What does bother me though, is that I'm noticing hair growth on my face! Ughhhhhh!!! I think it's from the Rogaine. I never had any facial hair before! It's not terrible but it is not feminine! Have you experienced that at all?
Hello ma'am
I wanna ask you that , while using this product can I do other hair treatment like hair straightening or keratin treatment ??
Hi Asmita! I believe you can, just read the instructions or go to the Rogaine site, the difference is you don't use it the day of your treatment. Personally I wouldn't hesitate at all, if it were me.
Thank you ☺️
I bought some but I’m nervous to put chemicals on my scalp. Have you heard any negatives?
Hi Bev, yes, lots of women have reported side effects, from itchy scalp and other issues. This is something to discuss with a pharmacist or physician to see if this is a risk you are willing to take. You can also do a patch test, but if you are truly nervous, then please discuss it with a medical professional so they can help you assess the risk and the "danger" of the chemicals (or perhaps you mean a medication? Chemicals as I understand it, is an umbrella term that would also encompass many of the synthetic ingredients in conventional hair care). Wishing you best of luck on your journey!
Hello I have 2 questions for you can u use day shampoo with it ? And does it make u have extra hair growth if u use it 2 times a day
Thank You very much for Your videos ! I have the same problem :( androgenetic alopecia, I'm 32. So many different remedies I tried but no result :( I'm thinking about applying Rogaine too, but I don't know which one is better: liquid 2% or 5% or foam 5% ? Of course I'd like to start from not so aggressive 2%, but I know that 5% is more effective. I'm afraid to lose time, (and hair) waiting whether Rogaine 2% will work for me or not. Which one could You advise for me ? I have severe hairloss now, especially on my temples, the line of hairgrowth on my forehead goes up and up :( I'll be very thankful for Your reply.
Well, as I'm not a doctor or healthcare pro, I can't give you any medical advice. However, when I started, I went straight to the 5% as I felt, as you mention, the 2% was not worth the bother. I didn't have any issues with 5%. Good luck!
@@HelenAvery Thank You very much for Your prompt reply :)) Your experience is very useful for others. I'm very glad to know that Rogaine helps You ! So tired from this fight for my hair (during 4 years) I'll try 5% too. Many thanks for Your channel from Ukraine 💜
@@roksanadi2145 I went right to 5% too, since studies show that 2% is nearly worthless. I found that months of using the liquid made my scalp react badly, so I switched to the foam and it's fine.
@@edennis8578 Thank You very much for your advice !
@@edennis8578 can you update please ? I’m going through the same thing
What if I’ve put dry shampoo the day before? Can I still use it the next day or do I have to wash my hair prior ?
In a pinch, yes, I would do it but generally I would try to wash it out. If you use lots of dry shampoo every day, then what could happen is that it absorbs the Rogaine before it gets to your scalp. Once in a while, once or twice a week, I'd say no big deal--if it were me. If you barely use any dry shampoo then I would do it. After all, I apply it with root spray and fibres and it still worked! Good luck! :)
If you put it in a specific spot on your hair. Will it is make hair grow in any unwanted places?
Hi Corrine, some people report excess facial hair but that never happened to me. :)
I have long curly (3ABC) hair and always sleep in a satin cap to prevent tangles. The sleep cap is also great for protecting my pillowcases. My dermatologist prescribed a liquid compounded form of 7% minoxidil with tretinoin and spironolactone. She is considering also adding topical finasteride to the mix. Unlike the Target liquid minoxidil, the carrier fluid in my compounded minoxidil is not oily, just a clear liquid. I apply it about an hour before bedtime, than again in the morning just before noon.
Thanks for the comment! How long have you been doing it, and do you like the results so far?
@@HelenAvery I've just started with minoxidil only a week ago. I am using the prescription minoxidil at night only to save money, as compounded (custom-prepared) meds can be expensive. But I like the higher percentage of 7% and the additional ingredients. The tretinoin exfoliates the follicles, thereby aiding in absorption of the minoxidil. The spironolactone is a hormone blocking agent that works by competitively blocking the effects of DHT on local receptors. In the morning I'm using the regular OTC 5% liquid minoxidil from Target. I don't like the foam minoxidil at all as it's very hard to target the scalp without also getting it all over my hair. With the liquid, I can get the little dropper nozzle under my hair and dispense a few drops at a time.
I also want to thank you for your great playlist of minoxidil videos. You've addressed so many issues that it would never occur to a newcomer to consider. You've really jumpstarted my learning curve...
You're so welcome! Good luck with everything!
@@cjbolan8059 where can I get this type of prescription minoxidil with all the extra ingredients?
@@thelordisgood62 The referrals I have to offer assume that you are in the US. Any reputable compounding pharmacy can prepare the custom solution. More challenging will be to find a dermatologist (not a GP) who is familiar with this topical option and is willing to write the prescription.
I used the (mail order) University Compounding Pharmacy in San Diego, CA. They are very reputable and doctors often recommended them to their patients. If a doctor suggests a vendor called HairStim, request that your prescription be filled directly with a compounding pharmacy instead. HairStim is a company that heavily markets itself to doctors hoping to get their business when prescribing topical hair loss solutions. It's not a good deal for patients as their products (and shipping) are twice the price and cannot be customized. Their product contains nothing unique. Any reputable compounding pharmacy can mix up those ingredients for half the price. Price is important as most health insurance will not pay for compounded meds.
My comments to which you are responding were posted more than a year ago. My hair loss solutions have drastically changed since that time. I am no longer using topical solutions of any kind. I am now under the care of a Stanford University hair specialist who has prescribed customized doses of oral minoxidil and oral finasteride that are most effective for a post-menopausal woman. Oral medications better fit my lifestyle. I only need to pop two pills now instead of putting that nasty topical solution on my entire scalp every night. Oral medication tends to work better than topical solutions as they are systemic and the medication is delivered in a more steady manner. For those in good health with no history of high blood pressure, they are a great option. Health insurance will also cover the cost depending on the dose prescribed.
To learn more about hair loss meds (both oral and topical) and how to save money, I recommend the Hair Loss Show. Lots of videos by real doctors on all aspects of hair loss treatment. I have learned so much from them..

How long does it take to dry and how often do you shampoo your hair or just wet it in the shower and do a conditioner?
Hi! It takes about 10 minutes to dry (Rogaine) and about the same for liquid, maybe a few mins longer because it has to absorb. I shampoo every second or third day but not longer. I do use shampoo every time (My all-time splurge fave is in the descrip box) and I do use conditioner, but not too much, just the ends. Hope that helps! Hugs!
Thank you for sharing this info. I went over to facebook and joined that page too. I have had Rogaine in my cabinet for like 6 months and I am just afraid to start using it even tho my hair continues to thin out. Any tips on starting and staying consistent? Thanks again.
Hi Krystal, thanks for commenting. Good luck and keep me up to date on your journey with it. No specific starting tips other than keeping consistent and do it everyday, don't skip days! Maybe put the bottle somewhere you won't forget to put it on would be my suggestion. When you get used to it you can tuck it away. I made this video, it might help! :) ruclips.net/video/6PW1HSeFfVg/видео.html
Do i have to wash my hair after every application 🤔?
No, you don't. It's not meant to be washed off, and I put it everday but only wash my hair every second or third day. Good luck! :)
@@HelenAvery ahh okay thank you very much 😊 💜💜
I've been told by numerous barbers and doctors that it is impossible for your hair to grow back after you lose it the only way you can get it back is with laser surgery so does this stuff actually work
What if my hair becomes greasy on the spots I put rogaine on? I got long hair and can wash it 1-2x/week max
Foam is a little less greasy, you might find. If you're using foam, you could try using a bit less?
it works just as well in the temples. It just wasn't studied in the temples so it can't be included according to a dermatologist I heard recently. So when they did the studies for the FDA approval, they only tested it at the crown.
Heyy Nice Video💙
Can Men Use Women's Rogaine? And Will it work ?
Hi! Yes, they are the exact same products if you're using the 5% formulation. Men just use it twice a day, and women once. Good luck!
@@HelenAvery Thank You
Some said if you wanna stop using rogaine. U could like use less amount from it than u usually do every day until u stop completely. This could like save that hair you grew. Is it true?
Hi Wissal! I definitely have heard this! Some people say they are only using it every other day, and some say every 3 days and it's still working once they reach about the one year mark. What I've decided to do is simply use less but still use it each day, so that it's a routine and I don't have to keep track of the days. Hope that helps, thanks for leaving a comment! :)
@@HelenAvery thank u so much ❤
Hi I'm wondering how long can the regrowth grow as for as length wise. Thank you for all your information 🥰
Hi Mell! For me, the hair reached normal length. For some people they only seem to get finer baby length hair but personally I can't tell what's "Rogaine hair" and what's my own hair, if you know what I mean. I hope that helps! Thanks for leaving a comment :)
@@HelenAvery how much percentage u used
I started using this after getting birth control I had bad hair loss it helped so much my hair was above my shoulders and went about 6 to 7 inches past my shoulders in 6 months I only used Rogaine for a year it's now been 3 years and I'm going back on it after having the BC removed to speed up the the baby hairs lol
Did you lose hair or keep ur length after u stopped?

I live in Canada too and i wanted to buy it on ebay theres a lot cheap but i don’t know if i should buy it...
I'd suggest to spend a little money to be sure you got the correct, non-tampered product. I know it's expensive, perhaps a generic?
Buy the Kirkland brand from Walmart. It's very inexpensive and a lot of people like it better. The Rogaine brand leaves your hair looking oilier, but the Kirkland brand dries like a normal mousse product.
I have a question I have been using Keranique hair care growth but it's a bit pricey, I just wanted to know if it would hurt for me to switch over to Rogaine or should I stay with Keranique? Thanks

Hi, I’m new to your channel. I was going to try Rogaine but wondering if I should just save up for hair plugs! Would you consider it?
Hi Mary, welcome! Personally I wouldn't take that route (hair plugs), I'd probably go for a topper if it comes to that. Completely a personal decision though, perhaps worth asking a dermatologist about? I'm happy that I chose Rogaine but then again, I got great results from it. Good luck whatever you do, keep me posted!

I just purchased my first bottle of liquid Rogaine. I have thinning scalp on the crown of my head and on temples.
