Yup. All the men on my dad’s side went bald very early. For me, I am not sure I have female pattern hair loss...i have all over thinning that isn’t really that noticeable to other people, but I see it, and it’s pretty scary. And I find derms are very insensitive about it. All they do is suggest Rogaine. With one doctor, I had to beg for lab work. None I have seen will even consider any of the medications.
But, if these medications, like finasteride, really work, then why are there still so many bald men around? Like Rogaine, they probably only work for a very small percentage.

If you do these things, it will help control hair fall, like it helped me. Keep your scalp fresh by cleansing it frequently. Use a gentle shampoo. Make certain to get adequate sleep every night. Wash your hair 2-3 times per week with liiitlleextra cocooinnion shampoo. Apply some oil to your scalp 2-3 times per week. After cleansing your hair, gently pat it dry with an soft towel.

Expectations are always difficult to come to terms with when suffering from hair loss. I am amazed that with literally over 80% of men and 40% of women experiencing this condition, combined with incredible technological advances in the world at large, we have still not yet conquered this problem. Frankly the accepted treatment options are cumbersome and not effective for all, particularly women! Seems like treatments for most are simply stop gap measures. As always your topics are of great interest, and this video was great! Thank you 😊

I hope you got sorted by now. If not, you can get at home testing kits. Check online and see if you can find a company in the country where you live. If you're in England superdrug does it. You can get your hormones checked etc and just hand the results to your doc. They can't argue with results. Although my doc refused to test me for thyroid funciton. Got an at home test myself and sent him the results and he struck me off his list of patients! Refused to give treatment.

I think it’s important to include that topical minoxidil only works for 30 to 40% of women and it can also be very damaging to the hair shafts. I don’t discount that it causes hair growth, but once the hair grows, it reeks havoc on the shafts due to the daily application of the topical which includes so many gasses and alcohols. You should see the before and after of me using it for two years. My hair is totally fried, broken, strawlike and damaged. 😩

This is the information I would've needed 20 years ago. I've suffered from androgenetic alopecia since hitting puberty. Because I have naturally thin hair anyway, my hair has been a major source of insecurity for me since I was about 13 years old. Every dermatologist I saw over the years about my crappy hair has - without fail - dismissed it as "it's just your genes" (read: you were born this way, get over it). I didn't get told it was hormonal until six months ago. I'm now getting LLLT and am looking into spironolactone, professionally administered dermaneedling and maybe PRP, so I'm hopeful, and thankfully, I've been on minoxidil for a while (because it's OTC) and was on oral BC for a long time, so the hair loss hasn't progressed beyond the point of no return yet. But I could've been spared so much suffering if these resources were available when I first started seeing this.

However, dermatologists are reluctant to prescribe for more than 6 months due to this concern of breast cancer. I found that it is the only thing so far that really helps. Some doctors just don’t listen. My period has been irregular for about 2 years and every time I go to a doctor they do bloodwork and my progesterone always comes back low and they tell me no everything is fine. Now my hair is all gone to be honest and I have no doctor helping me with my progesterone levels. It’s so frustrating

Hair loss does have an emotional impact. My hair went from thick to slightly thinning. I still have plenty of hair, but nothing like three years ago. It seems my scalp was dry and itching some. I've recently started on fish oil for dry scalp and dry eye. We'll see how that goes. I don't see myself using women's Rogaine or other topical solutions for hair thinning.

Hi! Very informative video! It is a problem that seems very complex. Those suffering from it should be followed by a qualified doctor. We often see so-called miraculous solutions on social networks. What are called grandmother's remedies here in Quebec. No one should test these fake remedies that often amplify the problem. It must be very hard for a woman to accept. This situation should not be experienced in isolation. You have to get psychological help in addition to medical help. As you demonstrate, this is a problem that requires patience to see results. As always, you always give your 100% in the description of the problem! When you go to the clinic, the doctor doesn't always have time to explain in detail as you do. Thank you for being so generous with your time and expertise!

That would be great but being a small company I would imagine the charge for these products would have to be very high when there's so many excellent products that she's pointing out that are beneficial that's already in the stores like the CeraVe. It would be great though for those of us who could afford the products or even better if she could make them as affordable as items at Walmart and Target. I'd be buying from her all the time!

I live in Northern Ireland so unfortunately it is very difficult to buy many of the products you recommend over the counter.
Boots sell a very limited amount of Cerave as does my local Chemist. I have bought some Vanicream from Amazon but it is quite expensive to import. It is my worst nightmare. My primary doctor has been systematically destroying my skin and hair since I was diagnosed with Horners syndrome. They put me on steroids, double dose two times. Then I was denied any birth control pills that I've been using since I was 15 to regulate my periods and keep my severe cystic acne under control. Now I have been struggling with my acne, stress, and anxiety because everything seems to be falling apart. I have expressed my concern about preventing any more problems because it's extremely depressing and limiting to my life. Now my hair is falling out and I'm so scared that I'm going to go bald before 50. I am 43 and if things don't improve I don't even want to live anymore. Life with my doctor's has been awful and they haven't done anything to help me. They've just made it harder and more difficult. Things that I have had under control are now completely screwed up.

I’ve been diagnosed with this. It is difficult to find scientific literature discussing this. Equally frustrating is the current recommended treatment is a topical steroid cream and minoxidil. Also, possible steroid injections. All to prohibit hair loss. Once the follicles scar hair will not grow. I can not find anything to address the root cause and stop it from happening. So far I cannot find anything that will reverse it. Truly would love to hear anyone else’s input/findings.

It also created some gastrointestinal discomfort for me, but that is not a normal side effect for most. I switched to Finasteride. Shedding like a MO FO right now, but that is to be expected. Wish me luck ( Female with AGA, 33 years old)

I tried Biotin at various dosages for years and it did nothing for my hair. If anyone wants to try it: it's a water-soluable vitamin so its not possible to "OD" on it (you pee out excess quantities your body doesn't use) BUT it has been said it can affect blood test results so you'd have to stop it a few days before a blood test.

So if you are bald or balding know your not the only one and I can not take birth control pills for estrogen either. So a long term treatment that works would be great know you are beautiful even with baldness. I do not want to wear a wig every day specifically since temps been really high on hot days.
