Another thing I absolutely love about this movie is that they ignore the fact people think boys shouldn't cry, Miguel cries literally four different times in this movie and has good reason to. There are so many reasons to love this movie.

No one thinks that..haopens in straight up thousands of movies and no one bats an eye, boys for the most oart cry less as they groe up because it is their nature...not because all of them weretaught not to...just like girls on average have way more emotional sharing between then on average

Chorizo isn't necessarily always in sausage form. Most of it I've ever had in my life was basically a loose ground mixture.
Most of the time it is in a ground mixture. Most times it is mixed with eggs for breakfast but I have also eaten it mixed in refried beans and diced fried potatoes, also on migas ( a light food made from eggs butter salt and chopped corn tortillas fried in a pan).
Even if it is a ground mixture most of the time, sausage form works much better with the joke.

Bruh what are you on. Chorizo is a spicy sausage dummy. You cut it up and put it in your eggs. Trust me on this one gringo.

Chorizo is more like sausage filling but with no casing. In order for most sausages to maintain that dick shape is because of the casing. If you take it off the sause will bassically become ground sausage. Thats essentially chorizo, plus it has so much oils and grease i doubt it would hold up anyways. And yes i know you can buy chorizo in a casing but anyone whose actually tried cooking it in the casing knows it shrinks and falls off and your chorizo loses that desired dick shape.

Just to clarify some things
1.-The altares and ofrendas are supossed to look that way, maybe a little less cempasuchil flower but the food are for the dead not for us, the fire hazard in the movie has no excuse because we use veladoras(basically a candle in a glass) to prevent that, not just candles
2.- The bullying and teasing at Hector is quite normal, Dia de muertos is know for making fun of death, the best example for this are the "calaveritas" (little poems where a dead person challenge, mocks or trick the death)
3.-Hector couldn't tell Imelda the truth about his death because he didn't knew it until Miguel relates the story of the poison

also, Tiana wanted a restaurant while her mother wanted her to get married. so she's not like her family. sure she's like her dad, but she's not like her mom. and she makes a deal with the prince just to exploit his riches in order to get her restaurant, so that's not following the rules.

I feel like a sin should've been taken off because the notes are ACTUALLY being played on the guitars, with the correct hand movements. That's GROUNDBREAKING in the world of animation. Just my opinion, though.

MissPurplicious dude i picked up on that too and it was amazing. Most reeal movies cant even do basic chords properly and its so fucking triggering. I thought that was a beautiful detail that actually sjowed their respect for movies and not just cash grabbing something that speaks to billions
I'll say that I have seen some videos on RUclips where it's been done, though obviously not with the same quality on everything else.

LOL. Miguel has been playing the guitar in secret for years and had some natural ability, but yeah, his cousins playing the violin and accordion respectively was funny. Of course, we don't know how GOOD they sounded...
There's a year in between them lifting the ban and everyone playing music. That's plenty of time to become an intermediate player, and Miguel has been playing for years.

Another sin: Hector and Ernesto are skeletons that look young because they died young, and Coco is a skeleton that is old because she died old. Does that mean everyone in Miguel’s family died early?

Well not everyone died early, like Julio and to a lesser extent the twins. Also, most of them died during the early 20th century, when the average lifespan was roughly 40 years, so it's not implausible for this to be a reality.

I would assume their appearance is based off their picture on the ofrenda, considering that's how the customs scene seemed to work.
Not necessarily "early", yes Hector was very young when he died, but people used to die from things like flue back then. Imelda might've been in her late thrirties or early forties (she has a few grey hairs) and, some of the other skeletons in Miguel's family look a bit older than her

I got to watch this movie back in 2019 on a streaming service with my grandma who was dying with dementia. She loved this movie. I had no idea what the ending was going to become. I am forever grateful to share this amazing movie with her.
0:56 the animation in this movie is absolutely stellar. at this time stamp you can see the downy “baby hairs” on Miguel’s face as he blows into the bottle. I loved this move in every way but I LOVE the little attention to detail in the animation.

Communication really isn't that hard. It's only "hard" when you're raised in an environment that doesn't encourage it. Which is very sad and unfortunate. I was raised in a mixed environment, where I was verbally taught that it's okay to express myself, but at the same time, the actions and words of the adults around me encouraged me to shut my mouth and stay meek. However, as you get older and can clearly see why communication is so incredibly important, it gets easier to speak your mind.
If communication is a "cultural" problem amongst Mexicans, then you need to step outside that. Your heritage, race, religion, culture, what-have-you should never define you as a person. Knowing that communication is important should be enough to do it constantly. If your family doesn't wanna listen, then find friends and confidants who will. I'm sorry you were raised in a family that stifles your voice, but please know that your opinions matter and should be freely expressed. And that goes for everyone.

The sin at 11:48 isn't true. Hector didn't know de la Cruz had murdered him, he thought he had choked to death on his food. He didn't tell Imelda that he was murdered while trying to return because he didn't know.

I'm gonna sin you for sinning the chorizo joke. The same thing annoyed me when I watched it in the movie because I had to explain the joke to one of my friends. They're not making fun of the fact that he choked to death they made fun of him because he choked on chorizo. In mexican slang chorizo is another way of saying dick. So basically the joke is he died by choking on a dick, not because he died my choking.

The movie never says that who remembers you has to be a blood relative. One of the gags is that a skeleton with braces is on his dentist's ofrenda. And as far as Ernesto knew, he had no family to remember him, but his fans remembered him and that kept him in the land of the dead. So, while I deeply sympathize with your not wanting kids, you should be fine without them, by this movie's logic

Its actually an old Mariachi guitar, that's why the strings are spaced differently. They're made locally in Mexico. They known for unique sound. Miguel probably got it from the part of town he's not allowed in. Probably traded it for a shoe shine and fixed it up the best a 12 year old kids could.

Miguel was searching for his ancestor and Dante is aware that Hector is who he is really looking for, not Ernesto, something that's also blatantly stated later in the film.
#50 Hector immediately explains that no one knows what happens after the final death. The point that death is a mystery, even in a movie about the afterlife.

Dante, the dog, kinda guided Miguel towards Hector. Miguel said so himself, that Dante wasn't just any dog but an actual spirit guide, his spirit guide, because he led him to Hector. He said it when they were reunited, after discovering the truth about Hector.

I watch it a second time and realized that the remembering thing is two ways : you are living in bad conditions in The land of the dead but you are still there because someone remembers you ( it doesn't have to be a good memory) but you have the final death if there is literally no living memory of you. And when family members remember you in a good way ( keep your memory alive) and put your pictures up, then you have a good life in Deadland and get to travel back and forth. I loved this movie and recently realised that mama Coco was an actual person.
