There you go. Growing up in the South we had Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker, Blackfoot, Allman Brothers, The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet...etc. They were ours, they were us. Of course we listened to Zeppelin, AC/DC, Pink Floyd. ..etc. But it's not the same. Thanks for getting Southern rock. Next for you is dirt roads.
Another one of the best songs they did . Dramasyde killing it . I had all of these on another playlist and lost everything I had on it so I'm going through everyone I can think of .
Their most underrated song! I think it’s their best...yeah, I know...I said it. Saw them live in Miami in 1980. The line up that day at the baseball stadium: 1. .38 Special 2. Blackfoot 3. Molly Hatchet 4. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band My God, what a great day that was!!!! Everyone was INCREDIBLE but there was an energy from Blackfoot in particular that is still palpable today in my heart. I see that you feel that, too. Ricky Medlocke was the best frontman of all time. They were as TIGHT as a band can get live. I’m so lucky.
Still have this original vinyl I bought back in 1983..... Train Train was our Varsity Basketball Warmup Tune.... true story kids. The tune directly after this one "Pay My Dues" rocks.... but honestly, "Road Fever" is fire..... actually, this entire album is fire!
I have always loved Blackfoot. The singer was my uncle's neighbor when I was a kid. I agree with you about loving that sound of picking thru a flanger. That was my definition of the 80's Southern Rock sound. You should listen to 'Diary Of A Working Man'. The lyrics and his voice will choke you up. It is a VERY deep song.
Being from a little town in the middle of nowhere Nevada, our nearest town for concerts was 460 miles round trip. High School years jamming this cassette there and back usually at 100+mph.
So glad to see you doing a reaction to Left Turn!! Saw them in 1981 at Hare Arena in Dayton, Ohio with a very young and then still relatively unknown group of youngsters from England called Def Leppard as their opening act. Always have thought this was not only one of the best cuts off the "Strikes" album, but one of their best from any album.
A lot of the great rock bands from the 70's and very early 80's were nearly obsessive about bringing their music from the heart. The great southern rock bands, I.E., Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker Band, Blackfoot, Molly Hatchet, Wet Willie, Atlanta Rhythm Section, .38-Special, The Outlaws, etc...these bands brought it from the soul.
Igot a line on you, also a good song on that same album. That song is a cover by them originally done by Spirit. I also like the cover by the Jeff Healy band. Both are good. 😎
I've always thought this was an underrated track. Great band. Ricky Medlocke got started as a drummer, then guitarist for Lynyrd Skynyrd, back then, and then up to the bands recent retirement. Rock history brother.
Oh man yeah I like anything like that Skynyrd Hatchet Outlaws you know if Marshall if it's Southern it's bad hay but nobody ever thanks about black pits tom-cattin album the song Foxchase Foxchase oh brother hey be ready though
So glad you digged it man. This is how southern rock powers up the blues. I know you're probably gettin' tons of requests but when you have a moment take a ride on Train Train by this band if you haven't done so already. Keep puttin' it out there man. Later.
Love that album, you are correct a great album to put on and go for a drive. You need to checkout Ian Moore, here are a few to give a listen too: How Does It Feel, Satisfied, Nothing, and Harlem, I think they are right in your wheel house.
Awesome, just awesome. As long as your in the Southern Rock rabbit hole, I’d like to recommend another band. Black Oak Arkansas with the song Hey Ya’ll live. Right up your alley Mike. 👍
Been playing Blackfoot since my brother turned me on to this album while I was in high school (early 80’s). This is my favorite track on this album but not a bad song on it. Jackson Spires was a fantastic drummer, bass drum always popping through
You May want to give ZZ Top a listen. Not their 80's songs, but try their Tres Hombres album. They are from Texas and had a strong blues influence like most Southern Rock Bands. You will like them I think.
Saw them live so many time the raw power in their songs was unreal. That whole Strikes album is awesome too to bottom. Check out I gotta line or road fever
If you like this you will absolutely LOVE coming home....was I right or wrong....and searching all by skynyrd ....trust me !! PLEASEEEE just give them a try ❤❤❤
It took my a while to learn the guitar on this one.. but I kinda got the style down. My favorite sound.. but once you understand Blackfoot playing style the rest comes easy lots of finger picking and rolling off the strings. It sounds great just playing the guitar alone
One of the most underrated rock albums of all time.

One of the BEST Albums EVER! Every song excellent! Next song off it should be I got a line on you! One of my favorites!
Absolutely!!! Not a bad song on the entire album.
Ya just can’t go wrong with Southern Rock.... Period
To quote from a Lynyrd Skynyrd song,
"You got that right, sho got that right".
Ya gotta give a listen to "Wishing Well" while you're into the Strikes album....
good cover...was originally a free song...another band he should check out...Free
Omg...someone finally reacted to this song...happy it was you!! “Spendin’ cabbage” next from their Tomcattin’ album♥️
Another one of the best songs they did . Dramasyde killing it . I had all of these on another playlist and lost everything I had on it so I'm going through everyone I can think of .

Love Blackfoot. Diary Of A Working Man is complex and hasn't been reacted to by many folks. Glad one got thru YT's net.
It’s was partially blocked, Diary Of A Working Man is next
Rattle Snake Rock N Roller and Fly Away are my 2 favorite Black foot songs
See the way they facing....never going back home.....Love that
Ricky Medlocke from Lynyrd Skynyrd is a member of this group too.
Ricky started the original Blackfoot in 1974-5, he joined up with Skynyrd about 15 years ago.
@@erics4653 actually Ricky join Lynyrd Skynyrd Back in 1970 before he formed Blackfoot and 1974
@@cominatcha6223 I forgot that. Wasnt he the original drummer? Played on the album then left before touring.
@@erics4653 oh he wasn't the original drummer he only stay for like a year or 2 with Lynyrd Skynyrd

Wow! Another group I had forgotten about! Lol, we had ALL the best when I was coming up! Thanks for reminding me of them! :-) :-) :-)

Southern rock guitarists have the ability to take you to a happy place.
Always loved this band
One of those very very very overlooked tunes ....
Great choice. The sound track of my youth. Keep it up.
The tune is in D-minor with a descending bassline (intro), similar to "Dear Prudence" by the Beatles
