There is a ton of country out west where 6k is the highest peaks in the area . N Idaho into central Idaho . E Washington, W Montana. Almost all sept elk hunting is 2,500 to 6,000’
Agreed, it's relative to the area you are researching. This was an example of how to use the tool, but you are right..you need do some review of the unit you are looking at before you get into using the terrain analysis tool.
Thank you for sharing this great information. I'm try to learn all the tools you offer but get flustered and just walk away from it. It's some of best technology out there God's Blessings to you and your team
Awesome man, thank you! I am a first year public land hunter with a cow elk tag. There so much information to absorb and process. I live in the high desert and my hunting area is very dry. I DID find huge elk tracks in my area so I'm hopeful. This information alone was a huge help. I'm approaching from the south so I should be able to find north facing slopes just fine and stay down wind. Just gotta find water. I'll have to look into using your app. Currently using basemap is all.
Loved the video! Very helpful my wife and I are new to bow hunting this year and elk hunting so that was very helpful I appreciate all the tips and help you guys offer so again thank u very much!
This video really only applies to areas with 8 to 11000 feet and big mountains. I live at 4500 feet and the tastiest mountain in this area is less than 9000 feet. Most of the area is low rolling sagebrush hills. But there's still elk here year round.

Hahahaha!!! I’m a Montana Boy. I was taught to never ask about a man’s wife, his wood cutting spot, fishing hole, or hunting spot. This was!is religion.
