It was scary , pulled into the bay, the officer measured all breaks/calibers , went under the truck like 5 times , checks for every slightest leaks, was told to pump my breaks like 50 times. Thanks goodness I passed. He told me your company will be proud of you. I told him I own it and I will be proud of myself lol. He laughed and gave me a warm handshake.

So you’re what, 5 or 6 months in the hot shot game now? Maybe a video on what you think thus far, plans on going for your own authority or staying with the company, staying non cdl or gettin the cdl, how the truck/trailer holding up, etc. much love on the channel and content!

Having flashbacks of being with my wife on the road and her saying the same to me about bathroom breaks, eating, and paying me! LOL! Congrats on your first level 1! And do you know that the level 1 inspection that they have you gives them the same credit as if they did a tractor/trailer so expect to get one often. Out of the 3 1/2 years out here, I've only got 1 true level 1 inspection where they rolled under my truck/trailer and checked EVERYTHING! You guys stay safe

@@HotshotMacc I'm thinking about getting into the business. I drove straight trucks for years and was the director of safety for one of the Trailways franchisees. I don't have my own DOT or MC numbers, but plan to get them once I'm sure I can handle all that time in the seat again. I have over 1million miles with no reportable accidents.
I'm a disabled vet, but no issues with medical card. I have a 2020 F250 diesel and got that over a 250 because they have almost identical towing capacity. No trailer yet, but have access to a Big Tex 25 +5 for a reasonable price.
Any suggestions on companies willing to work with others and allow them to use their DOT numbers for a percentage of the load?

Level 1 inspection, but your under 26,001 lbs... From what I've known it is required if you are over the 26,001 lbs/CDL driver. Example: if dot asks you for your log by law you can refuse if you are under 26,001 lbs. I learned that from a CDl operator/rig owner/CDL instructor.
I am new to this, so please explain. This will help me out in the future.

1) Why do you you have a 30 foot trailer and not a 40 foot trailer?
2} What dispatch company in Texas would you recommend to work for, or out of state?

I got a 32ft trailer bc that was all that was available with the fastest turn around time and I was eager to get started and didn’t want to wait 8-10 weeks for a 40’. I’m not sure of dispatch companies of the bat man. I was was hotshot107 and they did well for me but I say just do some research before using anyone.
That what I did on a similar load . And what I also did was about having to much chain left over I bought 2 20 ft chains and cut them to 10 ft that way on loads like that I use 10 ft chains instead of the 20 ft

I have had two level ones and both times I got awesome inspectors. Never got a sticker. But our company pays us $25 for every good inspection.
