That's the stupidest DOT qualm I've ever heard. Having lights you don't need isn't illegal, but not having them when you do need them is. As far as DOES SouthGeorgiaHotShot really need his, he can do two things: 1) Check the rear of the trailer, if it has clearance lights (the three in the middle) then the truck needs them too. 2) Measure the widest width of the trailer or truck, if it's over 8 feet you need them on truck and trailer. The first method is usually all you need to do as trailer manufacturers are good about complying with DOT requirements on brand new trailers leaving the factory - At that point the lights will be there (on the trailer) if they are required/needed.

Has anyone ever mentioned to you, after you pass a DOT inspection 100% without any violations they should place a "goodguy sticker" on your windshield. it is a sticker that is rectangle shaped. they remove one or both top corners to indicate quarter of inspection. ie 1st,2nd,3rd or 4th quarter. This is placed in the right lower corner of the windshield. this tells the scalehouse/ dot officers you've already been inspected and you shouldn't be hassled any further.
They look for your comb because it usually has DOT violation. NO class A or no med card. Weight too much for rear axel or truck not registered for enough weight. Stay away from Pasadena Texas lol
Hot Shots are easy targets because it's easier for someone to take an ordinary truck, hook it to a trailer, and go to town moving things for other people missing a requirement they need to fulfill here or there simply from inexperience or not knowing. The GW cost me about $100 to cross
It makes me wonder if the people you had the big problem with are dogging you and calling around and passing bad information about you so the next pickups keep getting set, then canceled, then set, blah, blah, blah.
PLEASE let us know what govt organizations (federal, state, municipal) are pulling you for these "inspections" and where. Last comment I think, HA!!
dang, lidda is a hottie
OMG YOU USED THE RAMPS!!!!
And they canceled immediately lol
lita sorry for all the disrespect guys say all guys are not like that glove clap to you both great video
Check this out, goes over definition of having a bed vs no bed for a truck vs tractor and overall length. ruclips.net/video/DYgHi4I_Hyg/видео.html
You sure get a lot of loads, but that msny cancellations is costing you big time.
Pulled in for inspection once a week??
Why aren’t you getting 90 day stickers?
someone told me they only get so mant to give out each month? dunno, my last inspection the guy asked the same thing.
One thing you need to know about those 90 day stickers. It is at the discretion of the officer to not do the inspection. I had an officer get an attitude because I informed him that I had a recent inspection with no defects. He inspected me anyway and I'll leave it there!
Why not driving a dually.
Level 1 DOT inspection, they put a sticker on the windshield for a reason.
I just asked why they’re getting pulled in every week if they pass the previous inspection. Should have gotten a 90 day inspection sticker
DOT will keep pulling you ove for inspection due to your truck looks too light for the trailer you are pulling. you should be running a dually.
Colorado just made me pay the craziest permit fee ever. $60 for a 3 day permit to drive in Coloroda on my "pick up" truck with no bed! I have a F450 hotshot cab and chassis and they made me pay $60 saying that I dont have cargo capacity so I fit under tractor rules but I'm registered under a pick up LOL. That was the most natzi non American bullshit I ever heard. I asked them "so it cost someone $600 per month to drive a pick up truck with no bed?" and they said yes!
@Cya I been doing this for 7 years and know the laws buddy. This permit is bs will have my lawyer on it. My lawyer is a retired federal judge and loves stupid shit like this. If I can't beat it I will not drive in Colorado during the day, easy fix.
Sounds like level 1 harassment to me.
Ha I just left Florence sc
Hope you got TONU pay on that load that cancelled
It was suppose to be on this weeks check. And we received nothing
@@SouthGeorgiaHotShot I would be raising hell about it. You should get something for going over there
@@SouthGeorgiaHotShot find a new carrier.....soon!
Did u are a non CDL hotshot
Good video 👌
I got 12 inspections in my first 2 years with my own authority.
Even under 26k still need medical card for interstate commerce.
@@JoePJack1 thats what i wa saying,10001 lbs is when you need a med card
Hot Shots are easy targets because it's easier for someone to take an ordinary truck, hook it to a trailer, and go to town moving things for other people missing a requirement they need to fulfill here or there simply from inexperience or not knowing. A commercial looking rig, that people typically don't use personally if they don't also do commercial stuff, is more likely to have all their ducks in a row. The truck will either be a company owned or owned by someone familiar with all the requirements needed to run such truck.
Gwb is 115$ for an 18 wheeler lol. I oay whenever i go to the bronx. Such rape for a bullshit bridge
