    When I started Transcendental Meditation, when I was 15, I was a B student going nowhere very much lost in the world and I think meditation helped me focus. if fact I would attribute a lot my success in life to meditation and the ability to find my center - who I am - who I want to be - being on that center and achieving better focus in life.
    It's very important to have a clear mind and to think clearly especially under pressure and stress. We live in a very stressful world and in particular asset management can be very stressful. You can see around you that people can get upset and flustered and anxious when times are tough and they make bad decisions when they do that.
    Having a calm demeanor, being able to take things as they come and be able to address them in a calm and thoughtful way is very important to success in any industry, but in particular asset management.
    The reason people get stressed and feel too busy is that they have too many things going on. Not all of those things are that important. some are more important and some are less important. Transcendental Meditation helps you realize these are the things I need to do, these are the things that are less important that I can get to if I have time. I think that by being more thoughtful and focused you find a lot of time and you end up with more time then you would without meditation.
    Look at the studies. They are very clear, they have been scientifically and empirically done and they are very compelling. People who meditate live longer, have better health, are in control of their lives, and frankly I think the testimony of the people that do it is another good example. The people who meditate keep meditating. There are very few people who just give it up because it was boring or they didn't like it or whatever. Everybody I know who started when they were 15 are still doing it from my high school class. I got my wife and kids and mother in law doing it, and they're all still doing it. That's a good testimony that they find value in the technique.
    Transcendental Meditation can be learned very easily by anyone, in fact there are already many millions of people enjoying the technique.
