The police statement on his apartment and how he was found made this one of the most unsettling stories I’ve heard. Maybe an underlying physical condition was triggered by anxiety after he met this woman and the two fed off of each other, accelerating a downward spiral? Anxiety can induce a variety of symptoms and compound others.
Would love to find out more about this woman claiming to be a witch and if she was ever located or questioned. A follow up on this would be great.

    • @tysparks598
      @tysparks598 2 года назад +7

Too bad this didn't happen during the internet era. I'm sure someone would have tried tracking the woman down, then... I wonder if she's still alive, even? She was a couple decades older than him, so she would be older than retirement age, today. It's such a strange case, I've only heard one like it & that case wasn't exactly like it, it was just a weird death... eerie.

Huh anxiety? This guy was listening to ancient Egyptian music ( which is a problem within itself) and meets a woman with she same taste who claims to be a witch and says she is going to curse him. Sorry lady evil spirits are real and humans use them for their gain.

Because there are no laws against cursing and killing humans by that way. Lucky us. Skeptics also keep the fire away from us, so that is totally fine. Disbelief never saved anyone so far yet.

I would like to add that my father was seriously health conscious his entire life. Great habits for diet and exercise. Never drank alcohol, smoked, or even took tylonal. Clean bill of health. He died suddenly of a heart attack at 57.

Sorry to hear that. We had a neighborhood runner who was the same as your father, very healthy but had a sudden heart attack. I remember reading that the more they research, the less important the cholesterol number, and the key is certain proteins. I wish I could remember the specifics.

    • @Hi-kq1vi

I am firmly convinced that being too health conscious is not a good thing, those people tend to over exercise & push their bodies to the limit & seem to die in their forties & fifties quite often. Of course with this case we only have other peoples testimony that he didn't drink, smoke or do drugs, the actual autopsy results would be extremely helpful in this case-but due to it happening in the pre-internet era we will likely never see them.

Did someone considered that this woman never existed??? When I listen to you , this case reminded me of a friend. He is schizophrenic, and when he has a breakdown, that is how he sound. The shadow, the voices, the attacks during the nights, the paranoia. HE was in a mental institute after one breakdown and he could have swore that the nurses would come during the night to scratch him with plastic bits and scratch his private parts. He still believe it to this day. Schizophrenia is terrible. and while normally it is detected earlier than 35, the fact that Christopher might have caught an infection might have caused the breakdown.
I really think that it is what happened. It is tragic, but there is probably no witch anywhere. Sad to die this young.

    • @jessielynch7493
      @jessielynch7493 6 лет назад +9

I thought that but most males if they have schizophrenia break down in their mid to late twenties.
But there is another mental health disorder which has very smiliar symptoms to schizophrenia.
I do not remember the name but I remember it is a delusional disorder.
A friend of mine has a it and unfortunately refuses to go to psychiatrists or hospitals.
I have had to help her family commit her once.
It's sad she is paranoid thinks people talk to her through the TV.
I will give her a gift and the bad people a energies are around it tainting it so she throws it out.
Which is quite irritating as you can imagine.
      She sees 'visions'
I could just keep on typing but I cannot.

    • @aaurus
      @aaurus 6 лет назад +6

Terrible indeed..And so frustrating. My friend has close family but more often than not listen to them or take his treatment properly. He was sure that his new upstairs neighbours were talking about what who he dated 25 years ago and were laughing at him. There is nothing you can do to convince them otherwise. And he will lie to his doc on how bad is his condition. Hope your friend will get help ultimately. X

    • @Hi-kq1vi
      @Hi-kq1vi 6 лет назад +5

Yep, I wonder if his mind just invented her. If she did exist then likely she was just a bit of an oddball who said I am cursing you for a joke. Not to be rude to the guy but he wasn't exactly handsome & the idea that some glamorous woman as depicted in the reenactment is going to be shouting out take me now in the middle of a restaurant is a bit far fetched-there may be some artistic licence in the actress used & the dialogue, but he doesn't really seem the guy to be having women finding him irresistible.

    • @aaurus
      @aaurus 6 лет назад +4

Ah, you know what we say.. the beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder... ;) But seriously, I doubt that any witch would go around in the middle of the restaurant saying these kind of things. I was always intrigued by the fact that her name is never mentioned either. Why would you tell your friend about all that but not her name ( unless i missed the name somewhere which is a real possibility but I guess cops would have gone and interviewed her if they knew her name.)... I think the poor lad had a very bad final days and that it is very sad.

Just to clear something up : I have researched a lot on heart attacks, and it is a very well known fact that, before you have a heart attack, anywhere from hours to days before, you can have an impending sense of doom. It has been greatly talked about in medical literature. They're not sure what causes it, but it is fairly common.

@@J_Honor_ It could be hallucinations due to decreased blood flow to the brain. It could have been odd coincidence. I do believe in supernatural but not like it's just manifesting super concentrated often. I think it could be like how back in England 1500s a girl stoled from a traveler she encountered on the road, something happened and I think she cursed him. Then he proceeded to have symptoms dead on for a stroke and died some days later. She thought she did it although she had not been a witch prior. He was so scared he likely induced the stroke. Things like that can happen too.

Myocarditis and heart failure can cause an “impending sense of doom.” I have seen this in my nursing practice, but have never seen anyone take actions like this. He should have had sharp chest pains and shortness of breath. Even if he was associating these symptoms with the hex, it doesn’t make sense that he wouldn’t have sought medical treatment.

    • @mushroomglade
      @mushroomglade 5 лет назад +5

I feel the same. Even some medication that is injected during a heart test gives this feeling of impending doom. They warn you that you will feel like you are dying but it will pass. Even in a clinical setting with reassurance it is overwhelming. This would surely lead to escalating anxiety and sleeplessness which is itself a source of feeling awful. Perhaps this is sadly a case of misattribution?

@@mushroomglade yeah there's a lot of other stuff around this, if what happened with the blood on his bed & the shadow figure, idk. He sure believed that it was happening, so he didn't think that it was a potential deadly heart disease, he thought it really was a curse. So he didn't think there was a reason to go to the doctor. I know I know, I don't really believe in the supernatural either, but... It's hard not to sometimes, unless some of this is BS from his friends, it's hard to figure. Unless he was drugged, slipped acid or something ... Idk, weird story anyway

    • @Saffron-sugar

what do you think about about toxic myocarditis? She was drinking with him. A large dose of Arsenic could take a week to kill him and could cause encephalopathy as well, explaining the mental breakdown and strange behaviour.
I agree, it's odd that he didn't seek out medical help. But he DID die and he probably wasn't feeling good, he may have been convinced that it was witchcraft? He didn't seek help for his psych issue. Maybe he was in pain?

    • @Saffron-sugar
      @Saffron-sugar 3 года назад +2

@@ajaxslamgoody9736 sort of. Acute means a sudden onset or rapid progress and/or short term, medically.
It doesn't necessarily mean that something comes on and BAM you're dead before you can call 911.
If you develop myocarditis over a week, that is acute. For example: acute bronchitis may take a day, or 2, to come on, but it leaves within a week or 2, unlike chronic bronchitis.
Myocarditis is weakening of the heart muscle that may lead to heart failure or arrhythmia that may then lead to cardiac arrest. THEN you die.
It sounds like he had been sick all week. Blood on his sheets, possibly haemoptysis. Hallucinations, encephalopathy. All symptoms of Myocarditis.

The power of suggestion is a powerful thing. Myocarditis specifically refers to inflammation of the heart muscle, whereas something like endocarditis often refers to inflammation of the heart valves. The "little cuts" on the ends of his fingers might've been in the nail beds themselves and are often called splinter hemorrhages, and they're often associated with infections and inflammation of the heart.
It wasn't a "witch", he likely died as a result of an undiagnosed heart issue or infection. it could even be his paranoia was a result of an ongoing disease process/fever caused by his body's attempt to fight that infection. Although, I'd like to see the toxicology and autopsy reports.

I would like to say in regards to the psychic thing... I did not believe in psychics until about 9 years ago when I met a polish lady, who had a Polish/American restaurant 2 stores down from where I taught music at the time. I went in there to eat a lot, her food was awesome. anyway long story short, after going there for months she had brought up some things about my personal life. which blew my mind because we never talked like that, and she knew no one close to me. I basically asked her how she knew these deep personal things about me. She said she was psychic, and asked if I would like to come to her house to get a reading. I agreed, and we remain friends to this day. There is more to it, but that's a quick version.
She can tell you so much just by looking into your eyes, then instantly she knows. It is quite incredible, She has freaked out a lot of people I introduce her to...
Now to give you an idea of how amazing this friend of mine is, She told me a month prior, again a week prior, and again the day of that my best friend was gonna die which he did. Literally around 2 hours after she called, and told me that I would be getting a call soon.
Also she told me on a particular day years ago, that I was gonna get into a car accident. I ignored her, and that very night I got hit head on by a drunk driver.
Also so many things that she had told me during my readings actually happened, or came true...
There is so much more, but I just wanted to make a point that some people are legit. Most of the time it is the ones that aren't asking you to pay a crazy amount for there readings, or whatever. I also would like to say that, even the real ones will make mistakes from time to time. Things do change, I have experienced it first hand.
There are real ones out there people, if you met my friend she would blow your mind. I have had plenty of my friends/family meet her, and she has done nothing but amaze literally everyone she has met.

      Dear ZER O
I believe that this psychic polish lady
she knows how to cook up some serious Polish food😋
I have no doubt whatsoever that she has psychic abilities
Beyond that which is considered scientifically possible
      But
it's not wise to predict the future
      In people's personal lives
      because
      Certain situations cannot be changed
      Of Course others could
      but
      who are we to say
what we could change and what we can't change
we have to depend on the wisdom of our creator father God and his son Jesus
      For
      those deep questions
      Believe me I understand
Our human nature to predict the future
      and
      change outcomes
      could be helpful
      in a lot of situations
      But
I believe personally that it could do much more harm than positive
I do not mean to insult or offend anyone
if I was giving a psychic gift
      Because I believe in Jesus
      I will have questioned
      Why
Most people would use it selfishly in a monetary form
Like a stock market or investment situation
      Having such ability
      Maybe
      only to help people
      To avoid catastrophe
      or
      harmful events
Way back in the mid- 1990s
      While watching TV
Many aired commercial will come at night
      Offered Services of a psychic
that you can call by using your phone at home
      And
asking questions about your personal future
      or
      situation
      for
maybe $5 more dollars a minute
Psychic readings have been commercialized way back then
It's easily to you psychic powers for your own personal monetary gain
      Even if they mean well
      To help people
This will cause a lot of drama and a lot of emotional dilemma

I'm not a medical expert, but I have studied a bit about this stuff during my time in university.. Basically, what I think happened is, Chris had caught a virus sometime before meeting the girl, and the artery(ies) of his heart had already started to become inflamed and damaged. Upon meeting this girl, things did not go well; she became hostile and issued a threat (empty or not, a threat is still a threat). Chris had probably already been experiencing some physical symptoms associated with his condition, but disregarded them as unimportant, since he was young and didn't have much reason for concern. After he was threatened by this girl, Chris clearly became stressed, anxious, and afraid - all of which are great contributors to heart problems. At that point, Chris's physical condition probably worsened, which he associated (through classical conditioning) with this supposed "curse" put on him.. To me, Chris's physical symptoms were greatly exacerbated by the emotional distress he was experiencing, and over time the two experiences basically fed off of one another, ultimately leading to his death. Since the heart is responsible for pumping freshly oxygenated blood to the rest of the body, and Chris was experiencing heart problems, his brain was probably not receiving its required amount of oxygen.. Which was probably responsible for a lot of Chris's cognitive and behavioral changes. It's a shame that Chris never visited his doctor about his symptoms, although in regards to what he thought he was dealing with, his actions were not that surprising.. :(

He didn't scare himself to death. He was under supernatural attack. They always blame it on the heart when they don't really know what caused his death.

There is another cause of sudden cardiac arrest called Sudden Adolescent Death Syndrome (SADS), which occurs in young, healthy, fit people. For this syndrome 'young' is defined to be between 16 and 40 years of age. SADS is caused by arrythmia of the heart, but in many cases it is unknown what caused the arrythmia. Stress is a wellknown contributing factor though.
In addition to this, Christopher Case's behaviour as reported makes me think of a specific category of psychotropic herbs that are typically used in certain types of witchcraft. Some of these poisons don't show up in a post mortem tox screen, as they either break down quickly or blend in with naturally occurring phenomena such as high adrenalin and cortisol levels (which are to be expected in panic attacks). These herbs cause hallucinations, paranoia, extreme restlessness and heart arrithmya. The witch might have put just enough of it in Christopher's dinner to cause these symptoms and his following anxiety aggravated them.
You're asking why she would put a hex on him if she was powerful enough to get from him what she wanted. I think this is not about getting what she wanted, but about feeling humiliated and rejected. A curse usually stems from rage and revenge.

So where is the woman, the witch? Sounds to me like he contracted an illness that caused his heart issue. He may not have been getting enough oxygen to his brain due to his failing heart which was causing his paranoia and left him too confused to seek medical help. A failing heart could account for the feeling of being choked in his sleep too.

In witchcraft or "Wicca", the rule states not to harm anybody unless you accept the harm to come to you three fold or more! That is what I learned from reading withcraft books in my life. I did read a few books about this subject and like I already wrote, the 1st rule is "do no harm." This woman or "witch" was she even interrogated or questioned? Also, you made an interesting point John, that if this woman had the power to do things like this, wouldn't she be able to make a spell to make him love her? She could make herself rich if she had power like that, just speculation on my part. This story immediately facsinated me once I saw the title. It is extremely creepy and out of "Rosemary's Baby." I feel very sorry for this guy. It happened a long time ago, I'm surprised I never heard of this before. No doubt his mind got the best of him. I'm curious if he had a mental illness, although I'm doubting that notion. I'm going to look into this case no doubt. I really scratch my head to wonder why the authorities did not try to locate and question this mysterious woman or "witch" about Chris's demise.

They likely would have found that in his autopsy, not to mention the video states that the heart attack he suffered from is usually the result of a bacterial or viral infection, and/or a compromised immune system. I have to wonder if being in a lengthy stressed state may have exacerbated the problem, coupled with sleep deprivation? Who knows. The story about this witch seems suspect though.

Years ago they did a study on Voodoo in Jamaica. Don't ask me to quote as it was over 30 years ago, however.
They saw a direct correlation in the "Magic Used".
      Priest casts a spell.
Someone tells person that they have been cursed.
      It gets around town.
People start telling said person that they are starting to look sickly and what not.

Just a couple of things...if the posting gets deleted, that’s ok...
I would recommend the book ‘Practical Psychic Self Defense’ by Robert Bruce,...be aware there is another book of the same title by Dion Fortune. It’s not that the Fortune book is bad, it was written in the early 20th century and has a lot of archane language and ideas. I would recommend Fortune’s book for people that are more adept and can navigate said archane language and ideas (and Bruce actually references Fortunes book a lot with a modern interpretation and twist). Bruce has a lot of good books on self defense, energy work, astral projection and he takes a scientist approach to said work. His psychic self defense book has a lot of good ideas, symbology interpretation, and countermeasures. He is Australian and the accent does come through his writing. My only critique is that sometimes he does write above people’s knowledge set and forgets to come down to their level. In those cases, don’t fill in the blanks, do some additional research on your own preferably from sources other than Ghost Hunters or Ghost Adventures.
Another book I would recommend is ‘Psychic Vampires’ by Joe H Slate. Another very good book. Yes Vampires are real, they don’t suck your blood, they steal energy. You’ve seen aura photographs? You haven’t seen anything until you’ve seen a vampire aura photograph. Glowing black with black tentacles coming off it. Creepy and gross.
I haven’t studied energy work in a long time. What little I do remember is that the chakras are attached to organs (any benevolent witches or energy workers, please correct if wrong). When entities attach, attack, or oppress said chakras they can manipulate the energy flow. That sensation is unique, powerful, and very obviously noticeable. But given how little understanding people have of energy attacks, they may neither understand or have the verbiage to articulate exactly what’s happening to them. They may just describe it in whatever is common language (pressure in the chest, pressure at the top of head, etc). Without the ability to articulate specifically and appropriately, it’s impossible to discern a physical condition from a paranormal one.
Another problem (assuming this was an evil energy attack, not a psychological one...we really can’t tell as there is too little info. This is speculation only)...evil entities will play on fear to break you down. Like ‘I scratch you or cut you, so imagine what more I can do to you.’ The imagination of fear weakens the Target host (OMG, I got cut, they can do worse, I cannot move any further...I can’t take time to eat, sleep, bathe, go to work...until I know I am absolutely safe). To get through this drama, you have to see the attack for what it is (eg, it’s a scratch, I will not die from being scratched, I need to go to work, or make dinner, or clean dishes, etc). It’s the same with the praying. Prayers do work but the benevolent energy needs time to accumulate and take effect. Every time you pray or initiate some psychic self defense, the creature attacking most likely will retaliate and initiate punishment. You have to endure it and believe you can get through it.
I wonder if this poor soul was able to do that...

Also I am a agnostic Pagan witch.I believe you can manipulate energy. Since that is what every living thing made of but I don't think you can actually kill someone with a curse. I do believe you can create atmospheres which are negative and can influence someone's thinking to a point. He may have felt bad because of his heart and made it worse by stressing his self out thinking evil was after him.

Lisa, according to a couple of Trad (non-Wiccan) Witches, and Root Workers (Hoodoo practitioners) that I have discussed the subject with, a person can indeed be murdered with sorcery. However, it's a pretty difficult thing to do. Even for an exceptionally gifted sorcerer. The part that is hard for me to believe, is that anyone would curse some one to an awful death just because they couldn't get a guy to have a one night stand! Although, anything is possible! But possible, and likely, are two different things!

As a Wiccan this goes against what I and other Wiccans believe. We have a saying: ask yee and harm none. That means we aren’t supposed to hurt anyone physically, mentally and spiritually nor are we to use our magic to harm others. I doubt he was cursed by a witch but I do think he may have believed he was cursed by a practitioner of manipulative magic, magic that can change a person’s behavior and not necessarily in a good way. I think he had an undiagnosed medical condition that ultimately killed him, not any magic.

@@Danxethenightaway She might have knowledge of poisons. If he was poisoned, she might have slipped it into his drink and the poison was slow acting yet was quickly absorbed into the bloodstream. Problem is I can’t think of any poisons with those qualifications. Either way this woman, if she is a witch, most likely was cast out of her coven. Like I said modern witches and Wiccans have a strict harm none code of conduct so I would look at local covens and ask if they kicked out any members for breaking the sacred rules. If she is practicing black magic then it will come to bite her back in the butt. There’s a reason why they say everything comes back threefold.

Oh it’s real!! Not only is it real but the last time it happened to me, I was an atheist most of my life but more so an agnostic by then, for some reason unbeknownst to me, I was face to face with a huge shadow person (1st time I’d ever actually seen the evil presence though I had felt it many times on previous occasions) i somehow said “in Jesus name i rebuke you!” & it immediately stopped the experience & I went from having it often to never again since that time. Weirder still than me saying anything in the name of Jesus, I have since read *MANY* testimonies from others who also weren’t believers in Christ yet who also found themselves stopping the experience not only by also calling out Jesus’ name but they all specifically said, “in Jesus name, i rebuke you!” *THE EXACT SAME WORDS* THAT I INEXPLICABLY SAID!!! *Every single one of them* said they didn’t believe in Jesus nor would they have ever even thought to say those words consciously had they been wide awake & face to face with a demon…& like me, they all expressed confusion about why they even said those specific words to begin with! To me, *THAT* is way more interesting than the terrifying experience itself….

Sleep paralysis can be caused from the brain reacting to environmental stressors. Just like a dissociative experience (sometimes called an out of body experience) can be triggered in some people when they experience high amounts of stress from traumatic events or from having extreme pain. Yes it's real, but only because the mind makes it real for the person experiencing it. SP is one of those things that scares a person the first time it happens, and thereafter the person is in a state of worry that it will happen again... So therefore, it usually does recur. It is possible that this man was experiencing SP as you said.

good point at 17:00. I have heard that among those who "place curses" on others that the most important part of that process is to let the target know they are being cursed. The theory being that their own fear will cause great harm, and when bad things happen, (as they occasionally do,) the target will attribute the misfortune to the curse. This isn't to say that I either believe or disbelieve any of this sort of stuff, I just don't know. But, I always found that very interesting. The mind is a very powerful thing.

However, based on what we know, this man appeared to be far too "normal" to become caught up in such shenanigans. I'm left just as clueless as you are, John. One Christmas while on duty I was sent to our admin offices to get some boxes of decorations. We had several lulls in activity so we decided to decorate to pass the time. Those offices had closed for the day and were empty and I went alone to hunt for the boxes. While back there I didn't know a supervisor had sent a inmate trustee to help me. I had my back to the door of a storage room and suddenly felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end and I quickly turned around and saw the trustee standing in the hallway quietly watching me. I put him to work carrying boxes. Later I checked his history and saw by the many charges he had a huge problem with male authority figures and sensed he had an extreme hatred for uniformed men.
I do think its possible for people to put out very negative energy directed toward others that some people can feel if in close proximity. And here in AZ we have the Redrocks with many communes and new age types with everything in between and people practice and meditate either in positive thoughts or extreme hate. Whether sending out a curse to kill someone over long distances is actually possible I don't know. But if you can play with a susceptible person's head I think you can put them down a negative thought path. In the miniseries "I, Claudius" the devious woman Livia employed a trickster woman who played what she called the "God Game" with a child in order to corrupt him and use him in a scheme to gaslight someone. So there have been people throughout history practiced in that sort of thing. In some strange cases we've come across I've seen boxes of acupuncture needles with pentagrams and rams heads in the logos so the accoutrements and instruments needed to put on a show for the susceptible does exist.

First I want to say I love your videos..thank you for what you do. Anyways I contracted juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 4. I've had pericarditis twice (inflammation of the lining of the heart) and myocarditis twice. The first time I had both at the same time was when I was 12. It doesn't just all of a sudden hit you. He would begin having trouble breathing often to the point he would have to sit up to sleep. The strangling, trouble breathing and sharp chest pains can be a part of it. It would have probably been a slow horrible death. If people talked to him a day or two before they should have observed his trouble breathing and pain and possibly even gasping and being feverish. The last time I had it things weren't nearly as bad as when I was 12 and that one from way back is a bit of a blur. I remember slowly being unable to breathe more and more until i had to sleep on the couch sitting up. I was taken to the ER where they had issues finding a vein for an iv so puddles of blood were all over beside my legs and arms. They ended up using my ankle. They also put a central line directly into my heart while I was awake. I was a scared 12 yr old boy. It got worse before it was better. After about a month I went home. So yeah maybe he could think it was a curse..but he knew for a short while and it was agonising beyond belief. Poor guy. Hopefully he is in peace now.

Levitation is a recognised class of hallucination occurring in sleep paralysis episodes. The vividness of the visual and vestibular motor sensations involved can be indistinguishable from real sensory input, so there is no need to invoke respiratory or other physiological explanations for why he'd describe rising upwards. I've even woken up levitating face down over the floor, rather than face up over my bed, and I remember desperately reality-testing by analysing the level of detail in the carpet, because I didn't know what sleep paralysis was back then but knew I wasn't dreaming just as you know you're not dreaming in daily life, so my best hope for not actually being possessed Exorcist-style was that I was hallucinating due to insanity. The carpet a foot below my face was just as detailed as it ever looks in real life, with no sensory clue that it wasn't really there.

I just read an article describing what really happened. According to a news article from the Boston Sun (or BS for short), Mr. Chase had a dinner and a movie date with an older woman who invited him to her place to watch “The Ring”. While watching the movie, Chase got really annoyed with her because she kept talking throughout the whole movie which didn’t allow him to follow the plot. After the movie Chase, who was now extremely perturbed that the movie had been ruined by the woman’s rude and incessant talking, got up and said he was leaving. Sensing that Chase was seemingly angry, the woman asked him what was wrong. He told her that he thought she was extremely inconsiderate due to her movie watching antics. She then got upset and said sarcastically that that must make her a “b***h” which Chase misheard as “witch”. When he left her home he called his friend Sammye and told her the story in detail. After he got back home he received a phone call in which a woman with a creepy voice that sounded a lot like the woman he thought was a “witch” saying “7 days” over and over again. He became convinced she cursed him and became paranoid til he finally died 7 days later. Turns out, had he been able to watch “The Ring” and follow the plot, he would’ve realized that it was because he watched “the tape” in the movie that he began experiencing the paranormal and succumbed to death instead of it being a curse placed on him by the woman he went out with. Case closed! No mystery here!!
    * I meant “Case” not “Chase”

I also wondered why someone who can put a hex not only like you said, would not just make him like her but also why would someone want to put a hex just because someone she first met didn't like her? ..kind of out there. I don't doubt he was scared but it could have become his own mind messing with him. Very interesting case!

Obviously she's evil, but either way she can't just snap her fingers and make it happen. She'd have to perform rituals to acquire the outcome she desires.

The basis of curses working is that the victim must believe in it. Can't help wondering, did he come to the conclusion on his own that the cause of his symptoms was supernatural?

"Real" witches follow the Wiccan Rede, which is essentially a form of karma. "Do as ye will, but harm none," (aka the Golden rule) is also a part of it. Basically, Wiccans and most others who practice white magic believe whatever they do to others will happen to them threefold (including casting magic)- so they don't curse people, just as basic operating procedure. They don't even believe in using spells that would force a person to do something they don't want to. People who practice black magic are really just finding old texts that have disturbing rituals in them and creating their own persona out of the occult. They likely have no real power, even if you do believe that Wiccans have influence on the world around them. Or they're very confused where the line of Wicca, mythology, and Satanism is and they believe they're all interconnected, as many scared laypeople assume (often religious people have this assumption because different faiths perpetuate this idea).
Edit: Forgot to mention- I drew the conclusion that this woman either lied about being a witch to scare him (which clearly worked) or she is one of the "witches" from the second category above, and so probably caused herself a boat load of bad juju by scaring this man so badly. Either way, I believe it was heart failure and this woman- witch or not- is a piece of work for doing this to Case just for turning her down.

Seaweed Witch Most modern witches also don't practice what could be considered black magic, curses and hexes included. My personal belief is that people who perform curses bring far more harm to themselves than to others by participating- whether or not they themselves believe in Karma, the Rede, or any other similar idea. At some point this all becomes a discussion on whether or not you believe witches' spells manifest themselves literally in the world, which is a bit of a different topic.

hey john! being lifted off the bed could be a sensation known as a "hypnic jerk" which is where you jerk awake while trying to fall asleep. I know that if you have severe enough anxiety, or are sufficiently tired you can have a hypnic jerk where the jerk is almost delayed for a about 20 or so seconds before youre finally able to jerk awake. It feels like you're levitating. Very spooky!

This is about as close as you can possibly get to actually proving the existence of dark supernatural forces, such as demons. It’s pretty refreshing to watch a well thought out, skeptical approach come up with the conclusion we see in this video. An honest skeptic knows when they’re starting to do mental gymnastics to force a scientific explanation in a situation where one just doesn’t exist. There’s still quite a lot we just don’t understand. I’m not stating this is without question a paranormal event, but I’m open to considering it. If anyone was ever going to die from something we believe to be so terrifying, this cause of death seems at least plausible.

Its demonic...Reminds me of case where 2 plane passengers were talking and one was a famous Preachers wife, and the other was an eccentric young man. The Preachers wife found out that the young man was a Satanist and she stated she would pray for him. The young man then replied that we (Satanists), also pray. He then mentioned that he was praying for husband to fulfill his lust and commit adultery. It was later reported 2 weeks later it was in the news that the famous preacher was caught in an affair and his wife (the one on the plane), then divorced him.
