The Track Life T8 has saved my wife and me a couple times. I was so impressed that I bought two as gifts. I gave one to my son and the other to the fellow who takes care of our yard. My son has used his twice to help other people who needed a battery jump but didn't have any cables. You do have to read the manual to understand all the lights, etc.
I have a different jump starter but it also has an on/off switch and wouldn't charge without turning it on like you suggested. No instructions in the manual for it. 3 years later and you're still helping people. Thanks!
Well for me I did not have to put mine in the ON position in order to charge it.... Mine was completely dead after not being in use for about six months, some how the full charge that was left in it was discharged over the time period, I then got up one day to use it and then I realized that its dead.... I plugged in mine still in OFF position nothing happen so I decided to leave it plugged in for about 30min or so came back and saw that there was a charge light with 1%...i then left it for an hour or so came back seeing a 100%....it works very well for me
The manual DOES say device Must be turned on to charge. Mine still doesn’t. It’s impossible to reach anyone affiliated with this company. No customer service
Thank you so much was about to sent it back ,Was having the same problem with the charge before I put this up I try it and for sure it work, Poor instruction on the manual, One's thank you,,,,,
So i just bought one.....heres my problem!! I left the button on off while charging it for about 2 hours. When i check the percentage it sais the battery is at 100%!! When i plug in the negative and positive cables to the port, it just blinks red and green rapidly. When i go to try and jump start my car,....nnno deeall!! My car wont turn on......any fix for this, if not so i can just trash it🤷😔
Thank you so much for this informative video. I had received a similar charger (DBPower version) as a gift. After charging a few phones, the unit quit recharging itself. I contacted the seller via email but never got a response. After watching this video, I got the unit working again. So many thanks and God Bless!
If its fully charged at 100%and in your automobile let's say, 4 months on off,in cool to cold weather (like35 to 45 degrees),how long will it hold a charge.
I have the same jumper. However, it continues to beep constantly when the cables are atteched even though it's a charge ⁰of 96%. I have not figured the issue out yet.
I’m glad I watched this video in the past about charging, mine just came today and it had a 85% charge, I need it to day to charge my motorcycle and take with me just in case (it’s cold AF) outside.
Thank you. It charged as you suggested. This is a great product! Downfalls besides the charging issue, but it is difficuly to put back in the case, and the battery clamps are too small so it's d difficult to get a good connection. Otherwise, awesome!
I have a T8 Pro but there is no power switch it only has a power button. It losses charge when plugged into an electrical outlet. Not sure if the charger is broken.
Mine isn't charging either, I charged it initially after I bought it but couldn't remember what the heck I did to get it to finally charge, but now its not charging regardless what I do, even with the switch in the on position LOL. I think they are pretty hit and miss as far as getting one that actually works.
Mrbulletpoints Thanks a lot for your nicly explained video, my jump starter also not charging. But sorry to say it's a different model "T-8 Pro 1200". In this no on-off switch, only power button. It's screen showing 'Lo' if i press power button. Checked voltage at output terminal found only 8.80v. Conected wall charger to 15v input to unoversal switch boards 240v, Unable to recharge(charger supplies 15.30volt duly checked) as device locked to Lo position on precaution mode. Please advise how to remove Lo and charge my jump starter battery. It's new piece but unboxed after 6-7 months & found discharged battery voltage 8.80v pnly due to 6-7 months.
Thanks for this. I have a similar charger, but it does not hold a charge. You plug it in, its at 36%, up to 100% in 10 seconds, but nothing when you unplug it. I couldnt figure out which position the on off should be in, and that helps to know, but have you any idea why it doesnt hold a charge, at all, and what to do. Amazon gave me a full refund, and told me to give it to charity, but I may as well try to fix it....
There seems to be issues with a lot of these (all brands). Seems like some of them stop charging after a while. Not sure if it's just poor quality control or what. Mine has been pretty reliable so far. Glad you got a refund on a defective one.
Hi, I have the kp120 tacklife model. It has only a button (depending on how many times you press for different light). When I turn on it, it charges for a bit and then it turns it off automatically. How can i do?
I've tried charging mine in the on and the off position. It still doesn't charge. All it does now is repeatedly beep 3 times when I plug in the cables. Any suggestions? It says it's 89% charged.
I have a tack life battery that won't charge, but it does not come with an on/off switch, just a power button. I've tried pressing and holding the power button. It won't charge past one blinking light 🤷🏻♀️
Thank you for this. The instructions are useless. This is what we need. I tried charging it. It had an 82% charge. I managed to get it to 83% (I guess because I was playing with the switch). Then nothing. tried charging phones with it (that requires the switch to be on). Then I was able to charge the pack. I didn't know what made the difference until I saw this. It is a great product but the user's guide is worthless. Thanks again!
Originally the device was great and charging as you stated by sliding the switch to on position. However few times after that it stopped charging it stays on LO on display regardless of how many hours you charge it. I would appreciate anybody response on this issue.
Lifesaver! Thankyou!! My jumptop screen looks the same, whether on or off, in ‘charging’ mode; I now realise it was actually off! No switch on mine.. but same theory! Thankyou Sir! 🫡 Have an awesome day!☺️
Count me as another person who 1) needed to see this, and 2) is baffled by the woeful manual. I have a new (newer model, I assume) one, with an LED display in place of your LCD one. When I followed the manual's charging steps, the "% charged" number - then at 85 - started flashing: not a word in the book about this happening/being a "charging" indication. The manual also has the charging steps listed under "operating instructions", which makes no sense. I bought mine as a hedge, since owners report a lot of battery-related issues with my vehicle (a Pacifica minivan, which employs a second/smaller one for certain functions): I seriously hope I never have to use it, since that will require relying on the info in the sad little pamphlet. Thanks!
Hi all I own one of this device. The battery has not been charged for a very long time. Therefore, the lithium polymer battery does not charge. The factory said it could not supply batteries. Where can I find a battery for this device?
I have used my charger several times and it works like a champ. I just had an issue with trying to jump my car and the screen is just flashing at 76% battery. If it's below a certain amount will it not jump start a car?
@@adolfoleon916 I cracked open the the connector that was beeping and there was nothing wrong with it like I suspected. I later fully charged the battery and put it all back together and it works now... Apparently it just doesn't work below 50% charge?
Hello, I like this video, I wish it was about the brand that I bought last year, BDPower 1200. I bought mine last year, gave it a full charge and put it in the truck for an emergency. I have not used it or needed it until last Friday to start a machine that had a dead battery, this booster was dead. I have tried charging it but it will not charge at all so I have been looking on youtube for a solution or hack to get it working as it was $95.00 plus shipping last year. I know this is not the same brand as in your video but they all seem somewhat similar, would you have any idea on how to get mine to charge? Thank you.
Sorry, I would try charging it turned on / off any combination of settings that might wake it up. Try leaving it on until it is totally dead then charging it.
@@MrBulletpoints I tried it with 2 different chargers, because it was totally dead, no lights and 0% when I plugged it in. wow. nice job figuring out the proper way to use that. The switch to "on" to charge it is so counter intuitive!
