    It cracks me up how some people don't take the time to read the damn description but instead make themselves look like fools when they complain the moves in this video are not combat moves. I liked the entertainment factor of this and the fact that you can also do traditional.
    I trained in Tang Soo Do and I was the only person in my class who wanted instruction in the staff. But it was hard to get extra time to train as I was helping teach the kids classes at the same time. I would be up at 2AM practicing staff on the side. lol
    I would like to take some more staff training in the future.

    Dude good luck with the Marvel stuff. I totally buy you as Gambit. I highly doubt Marvel would gamble on an unknown actor for that role but the short you made is really really good. Good luck on the next project!!!

    My 3 year old has been obsessed with staves for quite some time. After spending an afternoon watching this guy, he (and a staff he got from a Teen Titans play set) has been trying to copy this all night.

      Nope. those moves are real. This is just flash.

      MorteWulfe What does that have to do with what I said?

    • @MorteWulfe
      @MorteWulfe 9 лет назад

      You might want to think about it a bit...

    • @TheOriginalAlexYee
      @TheOriginalAlexYee 9 лет назад

      MorteWulfe I did...I suggested that if they need to cast an expert Bo Staff user for a Soul Calibur movie, Nick would be a strong fit for it. What do you mean his moves are just "flash"?

    • @MorteWulfe
      @MorteWulfe 9 лет назад

      TheOriginalAlexYee Kilik's were based off of actual moves. The twirls that are happening here are more like a cheerleader's baton twirl than an actual combat move. I did a lot of bo staff training years ago with my dojo and the staves we used were alot thicker than these curtain rods.

  • @20hiddenninja
    @20hiddenninja 14 лет назад

    one of the best ive seen. yes a bo is a weapon very much like a balisong its a weapon that can be a lot more entertaining that it would appear. if you can only see a weapon as a weapon itll never be more how much time do you think Nick Bateman puts into it? id guess its probably more of a personal 'passion' for lack of a better word than anything pretty sure he enjoys it and could care less if we think hes good or skilled or anything else for that matter.

  • @Frenne85
    @Frenne85 9 лет назад

    Im 3 years into Bo staff training (aikido) and i admit this dude is skilled in spinning and juggling. Now i must say as much as i would like to have the same skill i would rather keep going for mastering the staff as its intended. It would be really nice to see if he could actually use the staff in a real fight or if he would just spin around and shout and hope the offender/defender run away

    This is Extreme Bo Staff, everyone who does extreme bo knows that it is not traditional martial arts and therefore wouldn't be effective in a fight...It is for performances and to look cool and show the amount of dedication. People, stop busting on this for not being martial arts, because it is, it is just one aspect of it....look at the amount of skill he has and respect that! Fantastic skills too btw!
