You camped at my all time favorite place, Deep Creek Federal Campground. I spent almost every summer with my aunt and uncle in Bryson City hence my profound fondness for such a magical place. When my sister and I got too rowdy, my uncle would get a couple of old inner tubes and dump us out at Deep Creek to ride the rapids. That was long before tubing became popular. Once he decided we had burned off enough energy and were literally blue from the icy water, he would take us back home. To this day, I make an annual pilgrimage to Deep Creek before the fair weather campers move in. Oh and by the way, that flower you picked is from a poplar tree. Some people refer to it as a tulip tree.
That flower at 6:08 is dog hobble and the butterflies are red spotted purples enjoying the mud! Thanks for visiting our neck of the woods and showing it so beautifully!
I love it when slim shows off other camper builds. Hope he does more of these. Always fascinating to see what people have setup for camping. Also great fix on the vent. Caulking gun might also help to. I fix almost everything with that stuff.
Slim, The quality of your videos has little to do with your effects as much as it does with the heart we all see in them. I feel spiritual renewal just from watching your adventures in nature few of us will ever get to see otherwise.
Slim I really enjoyed meeting you and showing the camper thanks for your time. I will keep in touch as I travel out to the PCH Hwy in a few weeks. Enjoy all your videos
Thank you so much for your videos! My long hiking days are behind me and now I enjoy your filming and travels in nature! Your filming is incredible with thoughtful dialog! Safe travels
The waterfalls were very pretty. $30 was a bit much for the site with no showers. Jeff's Spyder camper was nice. Being the owner of a teardrop Little Guy, I could appreciate his self built camper. Happy camping!
Dear Slim, the flower at 2:18 is a tulip poplar! It's ne of our favorite harbingers of spring here in the south. Hope we'll see you in SC - so many beautiful places to camp here. Safe travels!
When I was a kid we came to the Smokies every year, always the first week in June. Deep Creek was always our base camp from which we ventured out. I've been there several times as an adult, but it's been far too long since my last visit. Thanks for refreshing some wonderful memories. BTW, after a long day of hiking, swimming and tubing the frigid waters we would get a hot coin-op shower at the vendors just outside the park entrance.
Great video Slim, such a beautiful part of the country. Jeff your camper is wonderful, an ingenious design and has everything needed to make camping a breeze!
It's a bloom off the Popular Tree. They are beautiful. Your in "Going No Where Fast" territory's. Hope you get to meet up with Rick. North Carolina is beautiful.🙏❤️👍☕
Slim! We were there too! So close to you, bummed we didn't know, would have loved to meet you in person and hang out! April is NC rainy season, as you know and we found out 😅. I hope you enjoyed your stay. We were there looking for a new home, perhaps when we get settled, you could be our guest, break bread & tell stories around the campfire? 🙏 praying for your safe travels!
Slim came by my Camper van, knocked on the door but I was out hiking. So disappointed that I had missed him. We eventually met on Canada Day in Ottawa a few years later.
Good to see you out on your travels and your advice is very helpful. I'm off on a 2 week trip from home in Glasgow, Scotland to Gothenburg in Sweden to see Metallica. In my VW Camper- going via the Channel Tunnel, via Amsterdam Holland, Hamburg Germany, Copenhagen Denmark, then back via Brugges in Belgium. 3200 mile round-trip to see the greatest live band I've ever seen again 🤘
Sounds like a great trip…fond memories of doing a road trip or two to see bands. Not Metallica (not my taste but Hubs would do it) but ABBA & Bay City Rollers were great! LOL guess you can guess how long ago it was! Rock on!
This looks like it'll be good! I like seeing motorcycle camp trailer setups. I saw a COOL camper some guy had once that was a tow behind box, but it folded out into a rectangular tent with a porch section. It was really cool. Whole thing was elevated off the ground about 2ft.
Every video I am watching today shows rain. In Warsaw is raining so is in London. Nice trip with rainy days and water all over - good for nature, waterfalls are beautiful :)))
I am Spyder rider, and I liked Jeff’s trailer. Neat design and would be fun to have a similar type trailer. Thanks for sharing this info with everyone.
I really enjoy your videos. I went back and binged watched a lot of them. I like how you give some helpful advice and show how you fix things. Thanks for all the videos, can't wait till the next ones.
Hello Slim , I like Jeff's Can Am Spyder and his Spyder Web Camper Trailer! That was a pretty neat set up! Good job Jeff! And thank you Slim for the awesome video! 👍
This is like a day out of my childhood spent exploring the woods down home. Wish I could smell the fresh spring air heavy with leaf mold, soil, water, trees, and wild azaleas, honesuckle, and jasmine! TY!
Awesome camper Jeff! Enjoyed the video. Content and audio are more important than image quality. I noticed image clarity looked different but it did not detract from the overall viewing.
when sitting outside under your tarp you should look at adding a mosquito net around that would give you some comfort when sitting and eating outside.......i love your videos....just so relaxing......thank you
What a cool little camper that he built. That's inspiring. I'm with you on the campsite cost. A little pricey. The butterflies & flower were beautiful though! I had that same step stool...I ran over it one time too many. Broke it, it was a really tough stool! RIP little stool...😮
Welcome to North Carolina from another Maritimer! We have been able to explore the mountains as well as the beaches since moving here from Nova Scotia. There are so many places to explore.
Hey Slim!! Glad to see you have made into North Carolina we do have some beautiful mountains. Hope you checked out the swinging bridge at Grandfather Mountain. Prayers for continued safe travels 😊
That's a Tulip Poplar tree flower you found there!
That's the name! I feel so silly! 😂
Yep 👍🏼
Got a lot of them here in Northern Virginia.
We have them in Louisiana!
Thanks for telling us that, pretty.

JEFF'S SET UP WAS NEAT!
The waterfalls, butterflies, and Jeff’s spider web were nice. Thanks for sharing them with us Slim.
Way to go, Jeff!!! American ingenuity!!!
Drinks the water…. “And no, there were no after-effects!” 🤣🤣 You know we were all wondering! Haha!
Very cool trailer Jeff made there!! Very clever .. Thanks for sharing the Spyder web!
Great little spiderweb trailer
That flower at 6:08 is dog hobble and the butterflies are red spotted purples enjoying the mud! Thanks for visiting our neck of the woods and showing it so beautifully!
Actually, at 6:08 it is dog hobble. The tulip tree bloom was earlier in the video. Thanks! SP
I love it when slim shows off other camper builds. Hope he does more of these. Always fascinating to see what people have setup for camping.
Also great fix on the vent. Caulking gun might also help to. I fix almost everything with that stuff.
Very poetic. I like the way you describe the scenery.
It's fun seeing nature through Slims perspective again.
Not the only U.S. Nat'l Park with no showers, Acadia in Maine, same thing. You drive to a private facility just outside the park, bring quarters.
The cinematography was just beautiful. So thanks for finding those places that look the most beautiful.
Slim, The quality of your videos has little to do with your effects as much as it does with the heart we all see in them. I feel spiritual renewal just from watching your adventures in nature few of us will ever get to see otherwise.
Foresty Forest, Steve Wallis and Slim Potatohead…..three reasons I’m proud to be Canadian.
That lil Spyder Web was cool!!!
Your nature always brings a gentle smile and appreciation for your efforts!
Slim I really enjoyed meeting you and showing the camper thanks for your time. I will keep in touch as I travel out to the PCH Hwy in a few weeks. Enjoy all your videos

Ahh Slim! Your in my neck of the woods! I wish I would have known, loved to have said Hi!
That flower is lovely. That man did a fantastic job on his camper. Falls beautiful. Thanks for sharing 😊❤😊
The waterfalls were very pretty. $30 was a bit much for the site with no showers. Jeff's Spyder camper was nice. Being the owner of a teardrop Little Guy, I could appreciate his self built camper. Happy camping!
Welcome to my home state NC./thanks for the video and have a safe trip
Jeff's Spider Web was really ingenious. I loved the water falls.
Dear Slim, the flower at 2:18 is a tulip poplar! It's ne of our favorite harbingers of spring here in the south. Hope we'll see you in SC - so many beautiful places to camp here. Safe travels!
The tulip poplar is our state tree in Tennessee.. we have 2 on our property.
My hat off to Jeff for his creativity.
Spyder Jeff's camper and slick AC mod are the coolest things. Thanks for sharing.

My favorite place in the world..Great Smokey Mountains. AWESOME..SPYDER WEB!!! LOVE IT!! BEST OF LUCK MR JEFF
When I was a little girl in NC the tulip poplar in our backyard was alight with fireflies when it bloomed, it was magic magic!
Tulip poplar flower. I love those trees. I think it's my favorite tree.

That little camper is amazing!
Jeff made himself a very nice 1-person camping trailer. Nice to see Slim running into other interesting travellers..

What a gorgeous place!! Thank you for taking us along with your beautiful video
Beautiful Flower. Thank You For Sharing It❤
The spider web is sick
Tulip popular tree flower...smell it! It's wonderful..
The forest smell you are referencing is known as PETRICHOR..... and it is indeed one of the best experiences ever. :)
Slim, I live full time in my rv and I LOVE your helpful tips. Taping up that vent was just so smart!
Slim, consider adding a propane camp shower. I have been using one regularly for about three years. It's easy on propane and wonderful.
But I already have a propane shower. I heat up water on the propane stove and pump it into the indoor shower. Dual use stove! SP
@@SlimPotatohead :-)
Really enjoyed those beautiful waterfalls loved the luscious greenery too.
Love that little camper!

My favorite was the Tom Branch falls. A good thing for your videos Slim as I can see the "world" from my chair. Amazing scenes as usual. Thank you

I like seeing motorcycle camp trailer setups. I saw a COOL camper some guy had once that was a tow behind box, but it folded out into a rectangular tent with a porch section. It was really cool. Whole thing was elevated off the ground about 2ft.
Yeah, I saw one dimilar to that near Calgary, Alberta. He was on a slope so disconnected the trailer and levelled it.
That’s all a person needs ❤
Spyder camper is just brilliant..hat off to that chap.!
Every video I am watching today shows rain. In Warsaw is raining so is in London. Nice trip with rainy days and water all over - good for nature, waterfalls are beautiful :)))

Thank you for the reviews of the places you camp it is very helpful. The camper you toured was really cute and efficient. Take Care and Stay Safe.
Love your trailer. And Jeff's spider and spider webb.
What a beautiful place. Thanks for the wonderful video.
Your flower is from a tulip tree. A friend of mine has one growing on an island off the coast of Maine. Lucky you to see one flowering!
