  • I can't believe I have come this FAR! • HELLO 100 SUBSCRIBERS!!!
DON'T be afraid to get written up cuz it might change your life forever!!! BON VOYAGE DROF NWORB LLIB. I have nothing else to say, as this chapter closes & another one is full steam ahead. The time that I spent at that institution, the connections physically and mentally that I've made, will never be forgotten, nor will I miss the life I once had partaking in the Ford Kool-Aid. I however, will TAKE everything like I stole it and go as far as I can knowing I will never be getting stiffed by people I work with nor Ford Motor Company. Feeling stuck behind the walls of that institution made me too blind to see the BRIGHT writing on the wall; & here I thought this was my forever place. 5yr letter plan what a practical joke. There are TWO of you that I still talk to and you both know who you are, & for that I am grateful. To my customers, I thank you for your continued support as we re-adjust course & will be looking forward to taking care of your NON-warranty repairs. THANKS so much everyone for watching each weeks episode, means a lot. Let me know below friends & tell me what you all think! The South Texas area has a need for quality diesel mechanics…..we don’t have all the BS regulations like Michigan either so you can do what you do best without worry. I’ve got a 7.3 with 118K miles in MINT condition. Would love to spruce up the suspension as you know; it’s like riding in a wagon compared to my 2014 6.7.

@@danw.7605 I get it, but all we hear about is “people don’t want to work”, and here you have a dedicated man working his tail off and gets treated disrespectful. Not that hard for ANY company to treat a loyal good working employee with some respect.

Yesterday we did the rear brake replacement!! People don't realize the challenge you guys face on a daily basis, we just would drop off our vehicle and expect it fixed in a timely manner!! I just started watching your channel for visual advice on how to fix things!! YOUR AWESOME, AND I HAVE SO MUCH RESPECT FOR YOUR PASSION TO DOING THINGS RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!! Thanks Aaron for being such a genuine guy.. You are a talent, a great guy. Appreciate all I have learned from you. I can relate. After 27 years as an Airline Mechanic, I became complacent, bored, and unsatisfied. I screwed up, got in trouble, and decided to retire. A very emotional experience. I think I have always let my profession become too large a part of who I thought my identity was. I will always be grateful for the time I had there. In reality.. it was my time to leave, and life didn't end there! Best of luck to you, and I will continue to watch your adventures!

October 14, 1996 I began my Ford dealer career. September 2003 I realized that the fleets bringing their Powerstrokes to us for me to fix, would hire me outright. $250 for a rollback wrecker to move my box out the door, after some petty BS by the 'management.' It's been over 20 years now, working union hourly at an electric utility with job security, good wages, benefits, pension, and a better life. You have skills, it's a seller's market, go make your money where you're respected and appreciated.

I quit my job about 4 years ago and finally went on my own. Was tired of basically working two jobs and being miserable and run down all the time. I was scared to death since my son was only 4 months old at the time. It was the best thing that could have happened. I have a lot of loyal customers and several people prefer my shop over the dealer now. Everything happens for a reason and it’ll all come out in the wash. Thank you for the content.

Went through a similar (but different) type deal when I separated from active duty Army. Doc said I couldn’t “shoot, move, and John Wick anymore,” was nine years into a career. Definitely hits like a ton of bricks, but sometimes life forces us onto the path we are meant to be on.

I moved on to making more money, working less hours, and having WAY less stress. Meanwhile i get reports back that they are steuggling where i left. Sometimes its greener on the other side for us little guys(the ones without their name on the building.) Keep up the good work brother.

Dude you need to take the big step. It’s an essential part of the journey. It’s scary as hell. But you got this man. You have a skill and knowledge that is rare in a lot of fields. Not only that but you help so many people w sharing what you do. Myself included. You are the sole reason I don’t have to take my truck into a dealership to get worked on.
I myself had to do something similar. I worked in iron working for over half my life. I stepped out of that to start my own oddity buisness. It was scary as hell too. But I know if I can make it you can make it as well. We all have faith in you and can’t wait to see how you progress in the next chapter. Best wishes to you on the journey.

This video hits home. I started at the dealer when I was 17. I graduated high school on a Friday and went to work the following Monday. I lasted 15 years but the dealer "meat grinder" finally got to me. The morale at the dealer was at an all time low. I threw the keys to the building on the counter and walked out. With your knowledge and passion you'll do great Aaron. Sometimes you just have to move on to another chapter in life.

You brought back sum memories growing up when at 18yrs of age in El Paso Texas I couldn't find a job because the fast food joints were hiring people from Juarez paying the I think $1.50hr were as minimum wage was $3.50hr and no health coverage back in the early 80's. Mr Gordon, a Retired Army Vietnam veteran, took me under his wing and taught me about being a mechanic. He had a mobile repair van and remember replacing a transmission in a rear wheeled drive car and head gasket with tyming belt replacement at people's homes. He had a engine hoist (cherry picker) in the ol Chevy van. I ended up joining the US Army at 19 cause had a child on the way and being an Army brat I remember the health care and other stuff available to us dependents.

Good for you, it's always hard to take that first step. I did the same thing from a place a couple miles down plymouth rd from that joke of a place. Its sad when you spend that amount of your life at a place and they don't care. I forsaw the decline of the automotive service industry back in 2019 and ended up leaving it all together after 19 years. Best of luck to your new endeavors.

I quit United Rentals after 18 years of loyal service. I was very proud to work there. And I have much respect for the upper management. met some awesome people from corporate and that's usually not the case. The thing that changed was local management went from being proud of their employees to being very proud about how big their bonuses were. Its been 4 years since and I've never looked back. Now I have my very own company doing mobile heavy equipment repair. Some time the biggest change is the most needed.

"The way I feel when I'm there". Man I felt that! When I left the dealer I was great at what I did and made good money. But man, was I just tired of that place. I dreaded going into work. The other side is beautiful my friend!! I still can't believe how it could be this much better. You got this brother!

Going independent has allowed me to charge customers less, and make more money. I can build relationships with my customers. It's a great thing! The dealership gave me phenomenal factory training, but also brainwashed me into thinking I was at the peak. You'll find outside the dealership the talent is sooo much better. The best dealer techs leave.

Don't ever feel bad about yourself, you can stand on your own two feet. You do not need them with your skillset Big business today don't know how to treat people with any passion. They usually hire someone off the street make him a supervisor of an industry where that person has never worked that job and cannot understand what they are asking of you. Never in history has people been so depressed and suicidal than today and it's just getting worse. I very well understand where you are coming from, but I can tell you that in a year you will be so glad you made that change, and you will never look back. Best of luck from Canada

December 2019 I walked out of the Ford dealer i worked at - 10 years in, senior master tech. I 100 percent agree with everything you put out here in this video. i went through the same emotions and thought. I ended up at a brand new Nissan dealer for a couple years, then moved over to a dump truck upfitting shop running a parts/service counter, and now been a year, but i manage an indie shop for some great people. I really did enjoy my time at the dealer until i didnt. Soon as it stopped being a place i wanted to be at, took about a week to lock the tool box and walk away. You;ll bounce and land on your feet no problem. Good luck on your next adventures! Happy holidays my friend. Cheers!

You're a young man with a good skill set that is definitely needed in todays automotive world so don't worry too much, you'll be back in action with a good paying job soon. It's usually traumatic when you leave a company you've worked hard for when it's not your choice necessarily. I know that feeling, I was unceremoniously let go after 31 years of loyal service to a company, but it worked out in the end, as it will for you.

AWESOMENESS!! I am so grateful that you were finally able to escape the stearlership! I was in a similar situation in a much different career, with eerily similar circumstances. I know that after I left... literally as I was pulling out of the parking lot, it felt as though the entire world had been lifted off of my shoulders, and I never looked back... not once. It is so awesome to see the mythical, mystical creature know as Arod in his natural emviornment hunting and slaying the prey known as the 6.7. You are so much more relaxed with an abundance of energy to treat and take care of each one of your clients as they should be. You do an amazing job and I look forward to your continued growth and prosperity.🙏💜

No reason to feel embarrassed, If you started at 16, then it's all you've ever known. It takes a strong person and a strength of will and emotion that many people don't possess to make big changes like this. You will come out on top and be a much happier person in the long run. You will carry your work ethic to whatever you do next and it will drive a customer base that is more loyal and more appreciative than you will probably ever see at a dealership. Best of Luck man, and may fortune follow your next journey in life. Cheers!
